Re: Donald Sterling slipped up in the interviews:Jewish only interest free loan group

I think Donald Sterling is trying to buy a little time for what he expects to come after the team is no longer his. I do believe this publicity has open up a few opportunities for more individuals to sue him for housing discrimination. I bet there are attorneys in Los Angeles doing research on all of his properties.

Oh you know it. The vultures cometh!!

Re: Donald Sterling slipped up in the interviews:Jewish only interest free loan group

This dude come from a family of slumlords who changed their names to maintain control of properties and to skip out on paying taxes. It appears Donald Sterling's mother taught him and his sister how to be ruthless slumlords which made him rich. I wonder exactly how much back taxes does Donald Sterling owes for not having properties reassess after his grandmother and mother passed away per California laws.

Re: Donald Sterling slipped up in the interviews:Jewish only interest free loan group

As long as this fool continues to fight, the more dirt the league will find to bury him. But I think Donald Sterling knows he is done, which is why he is trying to hold on to the team as long as he can, because once the Clippers is no longer owned by him, IMO a serious backlash of lawsuits will open up on him.

Re: Donald Sterling slipped up in the interviews:Jewish only interest free loan group

He's far from done. The NBA does not want to get into a prolonged legal battle with a guy who has 2 billion to spend. He may pay the fine and that's it. Y'all are going to have to be happy with getting mad again.

IMO, there are people bigger then the NBA that wants him out. The Guggenheim Partners who has over $200 billion dollars and backs Magic and is the majority owner of Dodgers wants Sterling out of there, which is why Sterling has such a dislike for Magic, who is just the face for the Guggenheim Partners. Sterling doesn't have a snowball chance in hell of keeping his team. He better preserve whatever he can of his $2 billion dollars.

Go back and watch the interview Magic had with Anderson Cooper. He basically put it out there that the Guggenheim Partners would buy the team if he owned it.

He doesn't have 2 Billion to spend per say. He is worth that. But his value is going to decline. Also you have to remember the NBA has wayyyyyyyy more than 2 Billion to spend. Plus they have an ARMY of attorneys ready, willing and able to fight. Sterling is in an impossible situation. The bylaws are the bylaws and the other BILLIONAIRE owners want him gone. Sterling ain't heavy man. You do realize a lot of Jews in Hollywood hate that cat. The NBA sees the Clippers as a money maker with the players and coach they have now. Especially while the Lakers are in rebuild mode. They need the Clippers to temporarily keep L.A. in the spotlight and making big revenue. Sterling's crazy arse is fugging with the brand. Just like baseball rid themselves of Marge Schott. The NBA can rid themselves of Sterling. Do you think any Judge is going to go against the NBA over an 81 year old Sterling who has no political clout? He ain't Jerry Jones that's for sure. The media is also going to help force Sterling out. You think any Judge or arbitrator can withstand the onslaught of actually siding with that cat against a whole league and it's players? Even Al Davis had a hard time against the NFL and it was for far less than some stuff like this. Sterling best bet is to go quietly. Because all he is doing is opening himself up to major discrimination lawsuits now that the pandora's box has been open. He has been able to skate by. But now, every lawyer in the L.A. area is probably trying to find clients who were living in his properties that were done wrong. And he better had paid all his taxes. That will be the next thing to happen to him. Messing with the NBA may get him investigated by the IRS and you know they can find anything and they have time and Gov money to break anybody. You do know Adam Silver is a Jewish attorney who has worked for Federal Judges before coming to the NBA. He is well connected and he ain't no punk commish.

Re: Donald Sterling slipped up in the interviews:Jewish only interest free loan group

The twists and turns of the Donald Sterling saga continue.

Included in a 30-page document detailing the charges against the Los Angeles Clippers owner are claims that Sterling tried to persuade V. Stiviano to tell a league investigator that she had altered the audio recording of him making racist remarks, according to The Los Angeles Times.

One of the six counts issued Monday by the NBA accuses the Clippers organization of “destroying evidence relating to the recording, providing false and misleading information to (chief NBA investigator David) Anders in connection with the commissioner’s investigation of the recording and issuing a false and misleading public statement on April 26 regarding the authenticity of the TMZ recording.”

The charges also allege that Sterling attempted the cover-up with help from his wife, Shelly, and Clippers president Andy Roeser.

The document also states that although Sterling and his wife have maintained that they are estranged, there is evidence that they are “inextricably intertwined.”

The document cites multiple instances of the two being seen together at Clippers games and in the days immediately following the release of the audio by TMZ.

The NBA has given Sterling until May 27 to respond to the charges.

USA Today has already done a story on how Donald Sterling might owe the State of California and Los Angeles County back taxes for not changing the name of his properties right after his mother and grandmother passed away for property reassessment. I'm sure the State and County will be seeking their money pretty soon. Now they are saying he tried to tamper with evidence. He better get out while he is ahead before they pile on $2 billion plus dollars worth of dirt on him.

SI.com has learned that attorney Maxwell Blecher, on behalf of Clippers owner Donald Sterling, demanded tonight the NBA give his client three months to respond to the NBA's charge from early in the day. The NBA, sources say, will reject the demand. The league has given Sterling until May 27 to respond to the charge, which asserts that Sterling engaged "in conduct that has damaged and continues to damage the NBA." The May 27th deadline is consistent with the NBA constitution and procedures assented to by Sterling. The NBA, sources say, regard Blecher's request for a three-month delay as unreasonable. May 27th is a month after Sterling's infamous recording became public. The league also asserts it is crucial that there be clear title on the Clippers ownership prior to the start of the 2014-15 season.

The NBA Says Donald and Shelly Sterling Are in Cahoots

The National Basketball Association delivered its formal charge (PDF) against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling on Monday, beginning the process of forcing him to sell the team. The basic claim is that Sterling’s racist comments, both in the recording released by TMZ last month and in a subsequent interview with CNN, have had a “material adverse impact on the NBA and its teams.” According to the Los Angeles Times, which obtained the full 30-page charge, the NBA alleges that Sterling tried to persuade his “companion” V. Stiviano to lie about the recording.

That attempt, according to the Times, was part of what the league characterizes as a coordinated effort by Sterling, his wife Shelly, and former Clippers President Andy Roeser to avoid punishment for the recording. The NBA claims that Donald and Shelly are still ”inextricably intertwined,” despite public claims of estrangement and impending divorce. The nature of the relationship between the two Sterlings has become a central part of the contest over the Clippers ownership. The league calls them full partners and says both will lose their interest in the team if three quarters of the league’s other 29 owners vote them out on June 3.

That dude is toast along with the Los Angeles NAACP. I hope it change things in Los Angeles by getting rid of numerous slumlords that have gotten rich off of poor Blacks and Latinos over the years.

Not surprising at all. I guarantee you if she was allowed to keep the team nothing would change and Sterling would still be running the team. She's not dumb. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

The NBA is not going to let those two individuals that got rich off of being slumlords keep the team. The NBA is seeing right through their little plan of trying to maintain ownership of the Clippers. She releases to her attorney that she is planning on divorcing Donald Sterling, but after 50 plus years of his crap, she hasn't done it yet.

man please she is done too. They have info on her masquerading as a housing inspector in order to get over on minorities and aid Sterling in his housing discrimination.

I believe other owners in the NBA got tired of Sterling building his wealth off of what they were spending to boost the league's wealth and popularity and they see his wife would do the same thing if she became the owner. And how convenient to be in the same city with one of the NBA's marquee teams and share the same arena. Now that the Clippers have the better team in Los Angeles, I'm sure the Lakers owners (Buss family) have come to realize that Donald Sterling is the same slumlord tightwad that won't change when it comes to spending money to promote the league and his team.

I have to say I'm not surprise that he would try and fight this in court. As I predicted his lust for power would be his downfall, he has repeatedly said that money has nothing to do with it and from my prospective that's a little more than partially true.

For him and all racist like him, it's the power and having control of other peoples lives that makes them feel they have some self worth.

That's the big difference in White people's mentality and Black people's mentality. We become wealthy to look good as a sign of success, whereas White people do it to control others, which is why most of them are racist.

Shelly Sterling to negotiate sale

Disgraced Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has agreed to allow his wife, Shelly, to negotiate a forced sale of the team, sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.

Shelly Sterling and her lawyers have been negotiating with the NBA since her husband was banned for life by commissioner Adam Silver on April 29. While the league has yet to formally accept this arrangement, sources said if she is willing to sell the team in its entirety, this could bring a startlingly quick end to what appeared to be a protracted legal battle.

It seems like Donald Sterling had a little dirt on Mark Cuban and maybe a few other owners and now they are trying to get him to sale before he run his mouth too much. I'm sure the price tag will be bigger then the team is really worth. One good thing, once the team is sold, the vulture attorneys in L.A. is going to be all over him. Donald Sterling's tenants and former tenants might get a little check in the future.

Hell if he recorded his own calls. It is no telling what other stuff he recorded and what other owners are involved. Make no mistake about it. I am sure there are some owners who hate they got to pay these black young men a lot of money to play ball. But their greed for money, fame and even power supercedes everything. Sterling was just too dumb to keep his mouth closed and should have known chasing that young gold digging female was going to bite him in the arse one way or the other.

that makes no sense. If he does have dirt on other owners, wouldn't that embold him to fight this to the end?

As for how much the team will sell for....its already assumed that the final price will be over $1Billion. That figure was the result of several factors: 1) the fact that the team is currently worth about $500 mill; 2) the fact that Milwaukee recently sold for about $200 million and had 9 different bids; and 3) the Clippers are in a major market and coupled with the fact that the Buss' don't appear to be selling the Lakers anytime soon then this may be the only time that a person/group has to get a team in the LA market. The is expecting more than 9 suitors for the Clips. The real people laughing all of the way to the bank will be the Buss family because an inflated sell of the Clippers will automatically drive the value of the Lakers up.

You must be a big time Mavericks fan, but slinging mud wouldn't get him anywhere but to the poor house. He's already in the crap hole with a lot of folks. Now L.A. County is looking to collect some back taxes. And I bet there's a few attorneys in Los Angeles lining up to file a lawsuit against him for more housing discrimination claims. Like someone has already said, even the media has turned against him. Also, I just heard on The Lead on CNN while typing this that Magic and his Guggenheim Partners have emerged as the favors of buying the Clippers. Neither Mark Cuban nor Donald Sterling have enough money to stop the Guggenheim Partners. What really doesn't make any sense is someone that thinks Donald Sterling would fight this until he is damn near broke. But I do agree with one thing you typed, the value of the Lakers will go up, but the true casualty of this fiasco is the Los Angeles Chapter of the NAACP. Who would want to be a member of a known bootlicking organization?

Not a Mavs fan, just the rationale didn't make sense. Whatever the league has on him is enough to apprantly make him do an about face and seemingly roll over. They are anticipating that this whole selling of the team will be rather quick now with the release that his wife will negotiate the sale.
