Do you show your emotions at work?

Sure Do

I say everything I have to say here. At my other jobs I was pretty good about biting my tongue and not letting anyone know when I was upset. I always just smiled and did my job. Now I let them know pretty much exactly what I'm feeling. I think it's the atmosphere here, i doubt I would do it anywhere else.

I would like to say that I NEVER show mine at work. However,
last week or so, I cussed out this new lady like I was a regular on Bourbon Street. I cussed her so loud that the folks went and told my boss "I felt violated"....

Since then I have held my composure!

Ms. J4J you needed a moment of silence.

I never show my emotions at work. Being the only one of us and one of us(double first minority), I have to stay tight and in control. I'm strictly business.

Yes. I smile and laugh at work, everyday. One teacher asked, “Are you happy all the time?”

:D

No, I do not. That is over and done with! Other than that one incident. I have NEVER ever had to act a donkey at work! That includes working from age 15 until now. I'm 32. I can get out the box when I want. I tell you one thing: These don't bother me at all. In fact, one asked me just this morning, "How are you today?" I said, "I am mighty fine! How are you? "

Peace be unto you.

Oops, my bad. I was speaking of how I would have reacted. Sorry, Kema.

I smile all day long, no one knows how I feel at work. Only my friends on email!;)

O and on the swacpage.....:D :D

I DO!

I don't hide a thing! When I'm pissed at these kids, THEY KNOW IT! Only thing I don't do is cuss at them ... unless they really need it, then I get someone to watch my class, and I take the offender into the conference room ...

I had a boy tell another one at the beginning of the year, "I heard you don't want Miz Hegwood to take you into the office room."

DAYUM STR8! When you get to that point, it's all over but the crying!

I'm not only speaking of when you're mad, but what about if you're upset or hurting...do you cry at work?

Are you talking about work related crying? Like if someone hurts my feelings or something, or if something upsets me that much at work?

Why doesn't this surprise me.

Personal stuff from home? NOPE....well I've had times when I had to hang up the phone on somebody while at work! Hee hee! Uhh, but no. I can't recall just sitting around crying at work about some stuff going on at home... NEVER.

Never have, probably never will.

My baby works in a office, where she says EVERYBODY tells all of their business everyday. It goes from my husband sucks in the bed to, my husband stole me in the jaw but he love me.

While they get pissed at her because she doesn't talk about her personal business.

All you broads need to stop cryinga nd griping at work anyway!

I'm happy I don't have to work with any women. I don't have to deal with your hormones, MS, mood swings, etc.
:bawling:

Nah. I have a few close buds here on whose shoulder I lean, but no one really knows when I'm upset about things outside of the building.

Say what you will, BNB, but some of these chirren don't understand "Be quiet." They only understand, "Boy, if you don't shut yo DAYUM mouth, I'ma POP you in it!"

These kiddos know I love 'em, though ... and they know that by the time I'm saying "step outside, please." they have really gone TOO FAR ...

I believe you Nita. I can see my son coming home saying, "Daddy, my teacher told me today that she loves me enough to bust my @$$ if I dont be quiet in her room."

Years Ago

As I young Captain bucking for Battery Command and while commanding troops in the Field Artillery, I would throw handmikes, my kelvlar helmet or anything I could get my hands on if something went wrong. I would cuss a 2Lt out in a heartbeat anywhere. I've locked a lot of heels and dared them to say anything in their defense. If a young private or specialist F$%^&* up, I would blame it on his Section and Platoon Leader and not the soldier. My philosophy was that a young kid only did what he was trained or told to do. (Except for the stupid schnit like writing bad checks to Dominos) It was good training because most of them contacted me later and told me "Thank You" for being an asshole.

Now as an Old Ass Major in Public Affairs, I am so calm it is scary.

Would you rather he say, "My teacher doesn't care how we act in class"?
