Your point is valid, BD, but make no mistake about it, it has become a strategy of ADs to make football schedules "attractive" in order to put buts in the seats.
For a team like ULL or La. Tech, playing SU in Lafayette or Ruston is attractive for their fans if they know the Jukes are going to perform at halftime. At least those schools will make it worth SU time to make the trip. But in the case of someone like Northwestern State, that matchup is likely going to be a home and home. And if past results are any indication, non-HBCU FCS teams don't bring fans to our stadiums like we do theirs. And because of that, and I know this may be a stretch, I think we should suggest that those schools pay us the difference of a particular benchmark (attendance wise) if we don't meet that number.
