Do Our HBCU Thoroughly Research Our FBS Opponents Instead of the Monetary Amount?

I mean take Clemson and Arkansas. If you watched any football last year, you knew Arkansas was going to be loaded this year. The same with Clemson. Why in the world would you as an HBCU Athletic Department subject your student-athletes to a beating like that when you should know at least one year ahead of time the FBS teams would be loaded for the next season?

At least research the damn FBS team itself first instead of just taking the highest payout possible. Schedule an FBS team that may be rebuilding, not some FBS that returning most of its starters from last year's team. Buddy Pough won't be the last HBCU coach to a shorten a game. It's the little things that go a long way.

Bewildered, I am sure that HBCU's are trying to recruit those type of players! I have had players that play for certain coaches in high school try to steer our players away from HBCU's and only send them there if there are no other offers for them. Calling them those schools, and some of that come from our black high school coaches.

I am against the money games as well. But what do you do when that is where most of your money is coming from. I have seen HBCU games on TV and the stands be empty. So where is the money coming from other than from the beatdown games?

wahines, I prolly shouldn't say this here but....

I have 2 young men CURRENTLY that I'm mentoring and tutoring. Both are sophs in HSs that are literally 43 miles apart from each other. One is a 6'3" 205lb FS and the other is a 6'4" 217lb WR. Oddly, both are actually basketball guys (AAU participants) and are guard-like quick and can jump out the gym as well. [true dual sport guys]

I thought both of them were lieing to me when they BOTH told me "Notre Dame wrote me..." this past latter part of July. I saw the letters to them w/ the lasered "brian kelly" signature on both letters. Same "vanilla" verbiage in both. And addressed to their home addresses. How in sans hell did Notre Dame find these young men in this big state? Both areas don't have an overzealous print media (newspaper) source so how did folks in freaking south bend, indiana find these 2 out of all the larger more populous metro areas they could have investigated? The early contact is where it starts. Not when they are seniors going into their national signing day.

They have GAs etc..... that all they do all day is this. Their pockets are deeeper and fuller than HBCUs.

I'm aware but I'm still semi-shocked they were able to locate these 2 10th graders just based on their physicality alone out in the middle of nowhere, texas. This is both of their first years on varsity.

I wouldn't be surprised if notre dame doesn't have a full-time compensated recruiter @ 32K$ annum locally whose only responsibility is to scour this region discovering "talent." ::read:: ::read:: ::read:: ::read:: ::read:: hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... lol :D

I am hearing that they are sending letters to 8th graders. They simply have the name and much deeper pockets than our HBCU's. Plus, some of our kids have been brainwashed to consider us to be the bottom of the barrel!
 
I send a lot of talent HBCU's, but I have noticed a lot of self inflected wounds in HBCU Athletics Dept. I won't get too much into the weeds, but with the lack of funding they have, the bad rap thwy ger from coaches, and the lack of facilities, they need to do the little things correct like...not oversign, get kids enrolled in 2-3 weeks max, make sure they have housing, keep in contact after signing, etc. I have seen those things and more negatively affect kids I have helped go to HBCU's.

SU researched and set up games against 2 weak FBS teams.......and after each contract was signed, both teams got rid of their coach. That dayum research......
 



I just changed the oil in my truck. I researched and made sure there were no leaks after I completed the job. Now I need to research and see where I can take the old oil for PROPER disposal. Do you know of such of a place @BRAVEHEART123??? I have 15 quarts of old engine in three 5 quart containers. As smart as you are, I'm sure you can tell me where there's a collection center for recycled engine motor oil.

That is EXACTLY my point. But even then, research their depth charts first to see if they are returning a whole lot of starters. Pick the ones that are basically having to break in a lot of new players.

We here SEC and ACC teams with 7-9 Starters returning on both sides of the ball...smh.
 
there's normally a book that goes out which lists addresses, names, coaches comments about every kid in the state who is considered "college material"...if your in that book then you'll get a chain letter most likely
