Democrats What If....

Hillary, Kerry, and Gore ran for the Democratic Nomination....who is the best candidate? JSUtoi we talked about this a while back.

Gore is the best amongst those 3. But the best candidate overall is Governor Mark Warner of Virginia. Senator Evan Bayh and Gore would be second on the list.

Be careful what you wish for....

Seriously, after another two years of this current administration (if that's what you can call it,) it won't much matter.

For whomever is elected in '08, he/she will spend their entire term cleaning up the universe of isht that these past two Bush terms has this nation in....and even those four years likely won't be enough!

Exactly!!

Man, I am so glad I left the Demoncratic party a few years ago.

What the Democratic party constantly fails to realize is that there have only been two Democratic presidents in the last 35 years...Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. Until they adopt promoting a democrat from the south, they will get their azzes kicked yet again.

None of the three peeps that were mentioned would stand a chance against any reputable republican candidate.

Task Force Smith please send help!

There's way too many factors influencing the Presidential race for you narrow it down to region. However what is apparent is that Presidents come predominately from 3 groups: Senators, Vice Presidents and Governors. And recent trends have shown that Governors are the most like to be elected out of those groups. With the exception of George Bush the 1st, all of the Presidents elected since Nixon were governors. The key for the Democrats is finding a moderate with experience as a Governor. Evan Bayh, Mark Warner and Tom Vilsack all fill that role.

The Republicans have 2 realistic contenders for the Presidency: John McCain and Mike Huckabee(Arkansas Gov). Despite what was asked, the 3 main Democratic contenders will be Evan Bayh, Mark Warner and Hillary Clinton. The only one the Republicans stand a chance against is Hillary.

JSU/99, the democratic party is so lost now, I don't know if they can get any help in the future election cycle.

I will never sit here and tell you that Bush is a rocket science, but he still kicked John Kerry's azz. Why? Because the democrats have no solutions, no vision, no substance, other than to armchair quarterback and playa hate and point fingers.

And I can narrow it down to region.....in almost 35 years no one has elected a democratic president north of the mason dixon line, be they a senator, governor or whatever.

By virture of you being on the other side of the fence no candidate the republicans field/elect will be a viable candidate in your opinion. But one thing you can't discount is my commentary about Clinton and Carter being from the south....they were both Centrist/Moderate.

Keep believing all the rigamarole the dems are selling right now....we at the GOP are praying the Kool-Aid is still being sipped!

Makaho...I was Republican...but not as you see it. Bush's administration pushed me to becoming an Independent. I will never be a Democrat or Republican again because both of their agendas in some way run parallel to my current life.

There is only one TRUE Republican candidate that stands a chance and that is John McCain...whom I will vote for at a drop of dime. The democrats have too much fire power to challenge the Republican party.

Nupe, John McCain is a RINO.

Republican In Name Only.

Again, none of you people in this thread can deny documented history as to what I have said about only two dems in 35 years of history.

But hey, Denial is just a river in Africa.

The fact that a Liberal Senator from Massachusetts without a real plan came within striking distance of a wartime President should let you know that the Repubs are in big trouble this next election cycle. The only reason Bush won this time was because they were able to rally the conservatives with an unusually large number social-issue based ballot measures.

The bottom line is this: If the Dems go with Hillary, it'll be a tough, hard fought election. If the nominee is Mark Warner or Evan Bayh, it'll be a Democratic landslide. Not even you can argue with their(Bayh and Warner's) "moderate" credentials.

This was an election, not a football game. And as far as elections go, the Kerry-Bush election was very close. You're the first person (Democrat or Republican) I've heard say otherwise.

Keep thinking it was close if that will help you with making closure with an azz kicking.

Remember, I used to be one of you Dems, I used to engage in the analytical circle jerks to get some moral victory from a loss.

I said I was sitting this out ................but 1 comment on the election:

As much as BUSH had going against him and he STILL WON................YES 99...........THIS WAS A MAJOR ARSEWHIPPIN' and AN EMBARRASMENT FOR THE DEMO PARTY.:nod2:

It don't matter if it was by only 2 votes. :nod2:
That's politic's.................learn the game. :nod2:
Close ain't shat in this arena.:swink:

:wavey:..............ROLLIN' BACK OUT...........:teleport:

What both parties are effectively doing is pushing more and more voters into the realm that myself, Stagga, DocSweetNupe, and many others have ventured to.....INDEPENDENT.

George Washington warned that Political Parties could be the downfall of democracy.

I will give you my opinion. One day a legit canidate will seize upon the voters gravitation to independents and will take advantage of it. Someone like McCain would be perfect for such a daring move. Many Republicans already share the same sentiments as Makaho, but yet he is still widely respected.

He is definately the GOPs best chance in '08 right now.

Its hard to tell who will rep the Dems. Hilary will began making her move pretty soon, once she wraps up her current re-election bid. I don't think Gore will run. Edwards could play a factor. I will say this watch Obama. I am not saying that he will run, but he will definately play a major role in '08.

You are so right, JSU99!

Unfortunately, too many repubs in this country looked at this past election (and the SE-lection before that,) as a football game...not giving a hoot in hell how this nation faired afterward, but more about "lets win at ANY cost." That same mindset (that and the "cowboy" attitude,) led to the invasion of Iraq.

I'll say again, whomever is elected (repub or demo,) they won't have a lock of hair left after they've cleaned up the isht made by the last two administrations.

The only asses getting kicked are the hard working taxpayers of this nation.

What a sad commentary for this nation. Hilary said it best when she stated just a few days ago:

"We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."

The 2002 Mid-Term elections were embarrasing for the Dems because, despite some still lingering 9/11 feelings, those results went against everything you're taught about politics. The party in control of the whitehouse almost ALWAYS losses seats in mid-term elections.

The 2004 election was no surprise because Bush had 2 major things going for him: 1) No sitting President had ever lost re-election during a war and 2) No Senator had won the Presidency in over 40 years. Whatever Bush had going against him couldn't possibly overcome the factors I just mentioned, particularly the fact that we were at war. So you can call it whatever you want, the fact is 2004 just wasn't the Democrats time. Wrong candidate - Wrong year.

Now if they(Dems) don't make gains in Congress this year and if they lose the 2008 election - That would be an embarrassment. Because 2006 and 200 should be their years.

That's it in a NUTSHELL. I guess when you can't govern, you have to gloat about winning the elections. :uzi:

Oh gawd........:what: ........and when your plan fails, TWICE, make excuses instead of changes. :lmao:

OK dude........................Ya'll get back to the topic...............Hill, Gore, whoever. :wavey:

Excuses my arse!

Bush and his minions DUPED this nation, and the nation is suffering for it as I type! This is worst administration since Hoover. Hilary was wrong about one thing...she said this administration will go down as ONE of the worst in history. I'd like to correct her there, and say that it will likely go down as THE ABSOLUTE worst in this nation's history! A record deficit, an un-winnable (as well as unwarranted) war, corporations falling into bankruptcy by the minute, lies, hyporcrisy and corruption....yeah that's really something to be proud of.

I'm amazed at folks who continue to be fooled by this fool and his cronies!! I guess when you've been "blinded by the right," you can't see anything clearly!

The only BLIND person here is you.
You make the same spitting fire post about nothing everytime.
A person can say INDEPENDENT all day, but as long as people don't see thing's YOUR WAY, people are being fooled by Bush.

How bout this..........THE DAMM DEMO'S ARE NOT AS SMART AS ALL THE CRIT'S MAKE THEM OUT TO BE.The worst administration............could be.............but that's not the point.

The point is ....................the WEAK ARSE DEMO'S ARE TOO DAMM STUPID AND STUBBORN TO FIND A WAY TO BEAT THEM.

They lose the election......................THEY SAY IT WAS STOLEN..........2 DAMM TIMES.
I'm not blinded by the right or left................I don't follow either.

But of course, you will only read what your mind want's to HEAR.
Forget what's actually typed. :nod2:
