Dayum u guys!

lurk.gif

I'm suprised.............

Some of you folks are just getting wind of the joys of the Triple-F Phase ??

Some folks are just missing out.....

*seductively reaching over Blublood for some popcorn*

Still laughing at "3xF"!!!!

Pretti-eyes........

Why do we play games??? The same reason why ya'll do........

Because we can.

Example: There are two brothers. One has on the Cardier Frames.....The tight Coogi, gators, etc. etc.
The other has on a Russell Athletic Tracksuit, and a pair of Chuck Taylor All-stars.

Both come approach you..........
Which one do you choose???

Alot of girls will pick up the first guy....might even give him some puddin'. Later they find out he's got 4 kids, smokes crack, and is a compulsive liar.

The girl who took the less fortunate brother, finds out he own his own Internet stock exchange is worth more zeroes than all of the smoke rings that Afro Man has ever blown.

Point: Yeah we play games.......but ya'll do too. ;)

Yeah yeah like dudes actually go for the girl with the turtleneck on. Or the chick dressed in the nice pants suit. Nope they go to for the chick dressed like little KIM in lady marmalaid video and wonder why she playin them for their money.

But PEOPLE play games because they can. Its up to you to figure out how much you are willing to put up with.

Not necessarily true.

For the most part, we (men) would enjoy LOOKING at the Lil Kimesque, but as far as seriously approaching her?....not gonna happen too often. Black men are real big on "eye candy", but just because it looks "interesting", doesn't mean that we are necessarily tryin' to take it home. Hell...plus real Brothas with class KNOW that women look GREAT in pants suits.:D

You can't really interchange your example with the one Supakat gave because women who'd choose at the brotha wearin' all the top notch gear...would do so to get with him...NOT just to "look at him", like what brothas do.

Just like at a club. The hoochie dressed females get most of the looks....but they aren't approached as often as you might think. ;)

Don't get me wrong....there are many shallow brothas that WOULD "go for it" with no question, but those with a bit of style about themselves....just observe and move on to someone that "appears" to be more "worthwhile"....

But hell...we ALL play games to a certain extent. The whole act of courtship is a big game in itself. Some approaches, tactics and techniques may be more juvenile than others...but it's all interelated.

I mean think about it....how many people are actually willing to admit that they themselves play games??? Most don't "look at it like that". Just because someone isn't reacting in a matter that you would PREFER them to, does that make them wrong? It's very possible that they're "gameplan" just isn't in tune with yours.
Think about it...;)

Just another Black man's opinion...

I understand you Ntelekt, but why does it have to be a game? Why isn't it just what it is...a relationship, courtship, etc? Why are there always lies, scemes, etc? It doesn't take all of that. Does it? If so, I don't have that kind of time to be wasting anymore.

Going into a relationship...each party should know what they want. If it's not there...then #$@% move on...instead of manipulating to try to get what you want! Just another African Queen's opinion.

Why is it a game??? :xeye:

Hell, if I JUST meet you, I am NOT courting you and I am NOT in a relationship with you.

I DON'T know you, so why should I tell you EVERY LITTLE THING about me off the bat????

If you don't think that you play ANY type of "game", then you are kidding yourself. Like I said...it's all a game if you put it in certain context. Two individuals start at a particular point, use different tools and tactics to get to know each other and find out what they want to find out, put themselves in positions that they want to be in, and end up with a particular kind of social situation that they desire.....it's all a GAME, blu!!! It's just depends on how you go about playing it. Many methods are accepted by the masses as "the norm" so the outlook of it doesn't appear as "gamish". It's when a person does things or acts in a manner that the recipeint doesn't like that someone is considered to be "playing games".

So...if you meet a guy, and you find yourself extremely attracted to him, and you "want" to kiss him, but you make up your mind that you won't until the 2nd or 3rd date....isn't THAT a "game"???? ;)

Plus, you don't "go into a relationship" as you put it.
People claim to always know exactly what they want, but time and time again both sides conpromise and change. What was acceptable to you from Person A man NOT be acceptable to you from Person B, and vice versa.

A relationship is a learning process, period!
If EVERYONE knew EVERYTHING about EVERYBODY upfront, then there would be no need for any type of "game"....

If you are being treated the way you want to be, receiving the affection that you desire, developing the relationship that you want, and being with the type of person that you need is when you have come across someone that is "playing the game the way YOU like it to be played"....;)

You may not like it, but you have to respect it.

NTELEKT HAS SPOKEN (and yes...it has been quite some time...:))!!!

Right...Right...

First off, PE, I hope that you are getting the responses that you expected.:)

Ntelekt, I agree. All of my classy guy friends would not dare approach a Lil Kimesque, but thinks a woman in a Nice pant suit is sexy as well as classy.

Again I ask why is that a game??? If I decide to wait to kiss someone...#$%@ that's called "making a decision". No game!!! O, maybe I have the wrong understanding. Please define game? And I'm not referring to people that just hang out...I speaking in terms of relationships.

Dammit, Blu...what's the problem???? :p

I put game in QUOTATION MARKS...that should tell you something right there. THEN I went into hella detail how courting and the like can be considered a "game". Didn't you read the WHOLE THING and just not picked out certain parts? :D
It's as if you're purposely trying to read into what's there as opposed to just taking it for what it says. :(

See??? You are one of the primary people that I'm talking about. Yeah...you made a decision, not to kiss him, but IT'S NOT BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T WANT TO KISS (understand, Blu...pleeze understand)...you didn't want to give the wrong impression to ol dude. That's why you DECIDED to wait and THAT right there is the "GAME" that YOU played....in order to protect your rep, and not to give off the WRONG vibe at the WRONG time.

Blu, just because you are interested in a person doesn't mean that you are in a relationship does it? Do you lay ALL of your cards on the table IMMEDIATELY? Do you not ever do anything just to see how the person might react? Do you not flirt with someone as opposed to just screwing them after 30 seconds of conversation? Do you ever attempt to coerce a guy to concede to something that you want?

If you have answered yes to ANY of these, then....;)

Does this help AT ALL???? :xeye:

:lmao:

Thanks a lot, Gram Tigress!

PrettiEyes it is a shame to say it but some women play more games than men.

HWA is another group... instead of NWA... H's with attitude...

I agree with that SUPAKAT69 guy.....

Some women are full of more isht than a man could ever be. PrettiEyes if you are serious about a true man just lay back and relax he will come to you.... ;)

What it all come down to...You and the other person need to have an understanding of what u want out of the relationship... It's up to the two to figure out what level he/she is on and what he/she is trying to accomplish...Whether it's casual or serious. What I realize that nobody really want to be "claim" especially while in college. It more of having the time of your life without having anyone putting a "leash" on u. You can't compare one guy to another guy because they are different in their own way. Nothing wrong with having high expectation of anyone but make sure that they are reasonable or at least u can measure up to your own standard. Just don't expect someone to be something and u can't be it! Some people like the "chasing" game but realize that it gets old quick! U can't play forever! :D

Ntelekt, I understand your point about the "kissing" thing... For females it like you don't wanna seem too easy, too desperate or too available. But another reason is that u don't want to be to "bold" and scare him away... Basically people are still living by the "OLD RULE on HOW TO GET/KEEP A MAN" rule. "What such and such day to do such and such" I just say that if the vibe is really strong and u know the other person is really digging u...GO FOR IT! Your really can't live my your homeboy's rule or your momma's rule... You have to make up your own rule that will satisify you...BUT I would just say GO WITH THE FLOW and live it DAY BY DAY!

ANOTHER THING....I'm pleased with the responses that I'm getting from this topic

:)

Uhhhh, some of ya'll need some guidance

Now I know why some women have a whole room in their house filled with self help books from T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Ilayanya Vandt Zandt and a host of other Grifters that make their living off some of ya'lls indescretions. The people I mentioned are Middle Men...Middle men make their living off of convincing you that they are a necessity for you to subsist. If you need advice on how to handle buisness in yo relations, you got prime examples everytime you go to a family reunion. For example, my grandparents were married for 72 years..the only thing that seperated them was the death of my Grandfather.....My parents were married for 30 years...the only thing that seperated them was the death of my Father. You get the point now! BTW, if you don't know yourself then you will never know what you want from a significant other. Know yourself, your expectations and then you learn tolerance...you aint gonna get it in a forum or from Oprah...cuz, guess what, her ISHT aint toghether..she can't even keep a man.:D

PrettiEyes you know it is the same way with women. You give them your heart and your all and they just toss it to the dogs when they feel that there is something better that came along.
I guess I was clueless and ignorant at one time also. But never again!

I feel what you said Makaho Bedrock. For the moment is cool but what you do in a lifetime is never in a book. Everyone can make a change to keep the other happy.

Yeah, prettieyes. You did make some really good analogies. You have to remember this too. SOME men are really too scared to admit that they are scared to commit. Commitment is not in some men vocabulary. Me, personally, do not understand or see the big thing about being scared. I mean, I feel the way you did. If we can kick it together and enjoy ourselves; why not commit to a monogamous relationship. Especially if we can do everything else under the sun together. I have this co-worker who really likes this young lady. I mean the young lady has her head on straight. She is a doctor with a nice Infinite SUV (not that makes too much of a difference). She has a nice place to live and she is really down to earth with all this. Now these two can kick it and enjoy nice conversations together. Something my co-worker has not had since he has been in ATL. He is really feeling her and she him, but he is scared to commit. I dont know why. I told him that he do not have to marry her right now, so stop trippin. I will dig deeper into this situation and find out his nightmare about the word "Commitment". He is really scared to commit, but he do not want to fool around with any other females (something new for him). I mean, it is nothing for him to date 3-4 females and now he do not want to date no other females, but this one. He says that he do not want to mess up with this one, but he is too scared to commit to her and let her know. Go figure. Oh, well. I just hope that I helped you.

And that my friend IS the bottom line.:D

THANK YOU!!!

PrettiEyes, that's my whole point...GO WITH THE DAYUM FLOW!!!

Your sisters are on this thread talking as if you people are supposed to exchange "What I Want..." lists as soon as the first make eye contact! :xeye:
Hell...you don't know that you're going to get into a relationship with someone when you meet them! You have to GET TO KNOW THEM in order to develop mutual interests...THAT'S where your "game" comes into play. ;) It's all a learning process that involves the giving and receiving of information. Each situation is different because we respond in different ways to different STIMULI. If you always go a new personal association with a big azz list of DEMANDS of what you want in a relationship....you won't get it. You gotta flow with it, and to be quite frank about it...what da hell are YOU bringing to the table???? (take notice, Blu:D)

Think about it...if wo

Again, I'm referring to relationships! Relationships that has developed and both parties agree to commit to one another, yet there are unnecessary games that they play.

Ntelekt, believe me when I say...I understand what you are saying. I just can't dissolve for the life of me, why the term "game" is used for this.

 game=bullisht...is that correct? Bullisht as in what you do on a job interview...Am I close?

Y'all can "break this down" however you want to ...

But game playing boils down to four things ... INTEREST, OPPORTUNITY, CHOICE, and HOPE ...

I am INTERESTED in playing this game ...

I have the OPPORTUNITY to play this game ...

THEREFORE ...

I CHOOSE to play this here game ...

AND

I HOPE like HELL I win!!

But how has this "relationship"developed???....through GAME!!!
By what means did they come to this agreement that you speak of???...through GAME!!!
How can each find out that there were unnecessary games that were played??? Easy!...they just came across some "gaming" that the didn't appreciate, therefore...they deem it UNNECESSARY!

Uhhhh......I don't know what kind of jobs YOU apply for, but if all you do is Bullisht in a job interview, it'll all come to light soon enough. ;)

Blu, it looks as if you're choosing not read was is actually there, and tryin' to create your own interpretation of what's been said...for argument's sake.
It ain't that hard...it's right in front of you. If you REALLY understood what I was saying, you wouldn't keep goin' on and on as if you're oblivious.

From the way you're making it sound, it seems like your approach to the first date might go like this:

"Hello John...thank you for asking me on this date.
Now that the prelimenaries are over, let me break it down to you:
I like you, and I think I'll want to be in a relationship with you.
I plan on sleeping with you after the 4th date and expect to keep a toothbrush at your crib.
You are tasked to give me small gifts every now and then, and I expect you to tell me EVERYTHING about you.
You are required to tell me that you love me after 4.5 months.
The number of female friends that you have must decrease from 6 to 2 within the next two months.
I'm sensitive, I nag when I don't get my way, and I will not pay your way when we go out.
Are there any questions???"

:lmao:

*wonderin' if the abstinence wasn't "forced" as opposed to beingvoluntary...* ;)

Nita...thank you very much for your breakdown!
She may see it differently since another woman concurred...:D

Wit at it's best. Maybe I don't understand because I don't refer to my actions as a game.
ne_nau.gif

FYI...I made the decision to abstain because it was another one of God's rule I could no longer break. Not, as you are suggesting, because I couldn't "get any". The guy I was seeing at that time pull out as soon as I pulled out. hmmm...was that game?
