Well, Odums has Southern's offer as of earlier today ...

Southern football coach Dawson Odums is mulling a contract extension offer from the Jaguars and could have a decision by Tuesday night.

Athletic director William Broussard made the offer to Dawson, who has one year remaining on his contract, Tuesday afternoon.

“I hope to get an answer this evening,” Broussard said late Tuesday afternoon. “The best case scenario is we have a verbal agreement this evening. If not, hopefully (Wednesday).”

If Odums agrees to a new deal it would be sbject to approval by the SU System Board of Supervisors, which next meets in January.

Odums’ current deal calls for an annual base salary of $140,000 and he earned an additional $52.500 in incentives this past season when the Jaguars won their first Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship in 10 years. Broussard wouldn’t disclose details of the offer.

Yeah, it's time for you all to perform your "National" coaching search .................again.

In two years, Odums have already surpassed sU's pay scale for him, so he must chase the fox now. Ok you "six figured" sU folks, pinch those pennies together and see what you're monies can buy.

Yeah, drown yall's pain for not being able to pay to keep your SWAC winning coach in a record and jokes. Seems like the joke is on you all though. Win the SWAC, but don't have enough money to keep your coach. Why did you all cut some of sport programs then? What was the meaning behind that?

Maybe you all should have talked to Bama to see what they did to keep their Championship winning coach. Oh yeah, they had money to pay him. Oh well..........

Wait a minute, I just had a epitt.....epitha....epita......uh, a revelation.

Have a coach every won a Championship in the SWAC and then took a lower division job? Lol!!!!! This would be a first. Win the SWAC and then take a D2 job. Wow!!!!! Wouldn't that be considered a "step backwards" in the real world? Only sU could manage something like this.

This guy would rather take a lower division job then to be in Scottlandvile. Wow. Even after he won a championship.

Somebody said a loooong time ago. "Whoever wins the swac this year will probably go win-less in 2014, look at pb." Lawd have mercy, prophet come forth. I want to know who said it cuz its looking like D.O. looking for somewhere to go.

Was it the same person who said JSU would win the SWAC, that JSU had 2 shutdown corners, that SU wouldn't score 20, and that JSU would build a dome?

They weren't part of the mafia I can tell you that.....nobody from jsu said the scg winner would go win-less. Prophet, come forth!!!

I'm glad y'all pointed this out because as I watched, I was thinking' "That white woman sure is sitting all close to Coach Odums and doing a whole bunch of smiling at him".
