I'm not knocking them at all but they are the same plots with Marvel. DC is way more edgy that's why its hard to make those films because if a director was to stay true to the DC way it wouldn't be made for the little ones to see at the movies. DC have to be big boy movies. That's why the Green Lantern flopped, tried to do the Marvel thing. Go watch a few animated DC movies and you will see what I mean. A few come on HBO and a few are on Netflix.

By the way Metropolis and Gotham sit across the each other just as New Jersey sits across from New York City.

If they wanted to make Green Lantern a movie that is similar to Marvel, they should've had someone star as Guy Gardner and call it a day. I've yet to watch that movie.
 
Since we are talking about Batman not getting involved in the fight against Doomsday, WTF was he supposed to do? Fight him head up?! One punch and he's out so he had no choice but to get out of dodge. All he could do was send him to an abandon area of Gotham.

And Batman did his part, he waited for the perfect opportunity to use his Kryptonite mist. Batman is smart, he knew he needed to leave the heavy lifting up to Wonder Woman and Superman.

X-Men is the one Marvel movie franchise (although they're under the Fox umbrella) that stays on the dark side of things. Folks haven't seen anything yet with DC, just wait until they see Darkseid, Brainiac, and the Anti-Monitor.

I agree with both of you. People fail to realize Batman uses his brains rather than brawn.

But in the DC Comic books, even Batman had jokes. All of the DC comic book characters had a sense of humor. And the real Metropolis is Chicago and the real Gotham is New York, so how do they sit across from each other. If they sat across from each other, then they would have battled the same foes (EVERYTIME) in the comics. Lex Luther would have been Batman's foe as well as Superman, just like The Joker would have been Superman's foe.

Think about it in the movie, they showed that Metropolis and Gotham neighbored each other. Lex said to Bruce Wayne something about how they finally got him to cross the harbor into Metropolis. Lois took a short helicopter ride to Gotham from the Daily Planet. Clark Kent wanted to focus on antagonizing Batman in the newspaper . Also, while Lex and Superman were on the helipad at Lex Corp, you clearly saw the Bat signal form across the harbor in the sky. Think about in Marvel how at one point you had the X-Men in upstate New York (before moving to San Francisco), Spider-Man, The Avengers, and The Fantastic Four all based in and around New York, yet all of them had their own set of foes.

Yeah, but everyone knows that Gotham city is New York and Metopolis is Chicago. DC messed up on that detail along with other small details.

That's what got me. I thought they were cross country from each other.
 
Man, you guys are down with these super heroes. All I know is, before I could get my 3-D glasses on, Super Man had killed one of the two or three bros in the movie.
 
Funny thing from watching all of the Superman cartoon movies was that he would always cause mass destruction to the city, obviously killing thousands of people during his fights, yet he would always try his best not to kill the super-villain that was threatening the city. I never understood that.

And that is why Batman was so angry with him at the beginning of the movie.
 
Just saw the Extended Cut of the film. Warner Bro. totally screwed up when they released the theatrical cut back in March. Everything in the Extended Cut made a lot of sense. The pacing of the movie was a hell of a lot better within 3 hours. Even the buildup for Lex plans to make them fight each other. CT Fletcher is in the damn movie. Why did they even cut out some of the scene with Batman talking to Lex in the jail cell? lol

Whoever was part of the editing team, need to be fired.

Very much so. There are a few characters in the movie that should've been in the theatrical cut. Clark even went to Gotham to investigate on Batman and why all of this is happening. They explained why Superman can't see the bomb. (We know why but they didn't even say it until the extended cut was released). He was saving people in the Capitol. Little bits that take 10 to 15 seconds made a difference in this extended release. People were saying WTF didn't they use this footage? It all comes back to Warner Bro. decision to slice up Snyder's movie.
