Dabo Swinney actually went there concerning Colin Kaepernick

He also made some remarks alluding to people finding another country. Regardless, it's really interesting that Dabo has an issue with people using the Clemson platform for activism when he has zero issue using the Clemson platform to promote his religion.

I live in Clemson. These dudes ain't going no where. Daboo can say what he wants to say and it will cost him nothing around here with them or us. SC State will be here this weekend and they might as well all take a knee before the game cause they sure going to try and make them bow down during the game.

Dabo's comments are indicative of white people who've simply have had limited, meaningful interactions with black people.

He sounds a lot like my boss and white people who responded to the column I wrote about how black people feel about a lot of these issues being discussed.

I couldn't tell you the number of white readers who were surprised that black people harbored certain thoughts about the police, how we're perceived in society, and the lengths we go through to command a level of respect that should be afforded to us as common decency.

White folks literally don't live in the same world we do, and can't phantom the idea that these problems exist beyond their own environments they've crafted filled with like-minded people who aren't impacted at all by the challenges black folks face.

They always wanna drag MLK's name into these issues as an "example" but then conveniently leave out the fact that they killed him too.

It's not that, as they present a very sanitized version of King. The acceptable version of King that is without his writings and words that are a more accurate representation of his purpose.

What those revisionists and quote cherry-pickers don't ever bring up about King is how even this ideal activist had an approval rating among whites that was below 30 percent.

Lol

I been saying "stop sending your kids to these racist ass schools" but folks on here laughed at me.

He aint the only one...smh

I told yall, these ppl don't give a dayum about us.

1+1 is the same at SU as it as at Clemson.

smh

Send your kids to play for schools that don't give a dayum about you.

Them kids at Clemson, I bet can't even take a knee smh Lmbo

Where are their parents?

Playing in front of white folks like a dayum puppet..smh..

Like Kap, Brandon Marshall and others, all it would take is courage, conviction and a willingness to make the sacrifice. Marshall has lost a couple endorsements and hasn't flinched, much respect. You have to be willing to lose something, be uncomfortable and as a result make others uncomfortable.

If the right say, 5 current players, 10 h.s. blue chippers chose to attend a hbcu...imagine the fear they'd put in PWCs. Those kids' talent won't just evaporate if they chose to bring them to an HBCU and the education they'll get is just as good...if they put in the work. And as it's been said if you're talented the NFL, will find you.

Now see, this right here Kendrick.......YES!

Not only was he against it, he went and complained about how it's another sign of how there's too much "entitlement" in the world. Nevermind the fact he's making $5 million a year plus endorsements, but it's the players who would be entitled.

They, the players, are allowing him, his family, et al like broadcasters/gameday crew w/ their 6-figure salaries to have great economic gain @ their physical demise. They, the players, are the ones butting heads like billy-goats tearing each other apart on the field of play like rabid pitbulls while he maliciously yells/screams for them to play harder (for him) so that his contract is maintained thereby maintaining their standard of living :D . Kinda' sorta' like "mazza" did when he'd take his strongest bucks and black whores to meet other plantation owners on Sundays and have them competing against each other. :D

The PWCU solution is obvious though.... hire "handlers" who look like the players ala Sumlin, Strong, and moreso assistants who look like them, w/ titles like "assistant head coach" lol or "president of football operations" lol, to help keep them in line so that their physical prowess is exploited to the highest. :D What a great game to witness. smh

Take MLK’s name out your mouth: An open letter to Clemson foobtall coach Dabo Swinney

Dear Coach Swinney,

I’m a professor at Clemson. We’ve never met, but we work with many of the same students.

I listened to your comments on the issue of athlete protests on the field and I wanted to share some of my impressions.

I winced when I heard a reporter ask you, a white man who makes somewhere in the area of $5 million a year from the physical labor and bodily risk of unpaid black athletes, if he would “discipline” them for making a political statement. Given that you and I both work on the former plantation of John C. Calhoun, the historical significance of the question is staggering and troubling.

To your credit, you said that you would not discipline a player for not standing during the national anthem, an act of defiance most recently started by 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

You did acknowledge Kaepernick’s right to protest and you encouraged other players to exercise those rights if they want to. I was glad to hear all of those things. For a moment, I felt even prouder than I already am to be a professor at Clemson.

But then you started talking about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I posted the thread because I heard the interview first then posted Bomani Jones tweet too back it up. I didn't even hear the "they need to move to another country" part until today

Holy freaking ish. PR nightmare times 10 with an in-state HBCU coming to town Saturday
