Cowboys Cut Terrell Owens!!

MB didn't do squat as a full time starter which I predicted.
This says a lot about what your dumb arse knows. In 8 of 11 games he started prior to injuring his toe on Thanksgiving, Barber had over 100 yards of offense. He started the season by torturing the Browns and then the Eagles with 2 TDs in each game and 100+ yards. Then he wore Green Bay's arse out in front of a national TV audience with 150+ yards. Next game, Jason Garrett's dumb arse got pass happy in their loss to the Redskins where the Cowboys only ran the ball 8 times. He had 37 yards. The next week he almost got to the 100 yard mark against the Bengals ending with 92 yards. He followed that up by torturing the Cardinals with 170+ yards of offense. Dallas really started to struggle afterwards but he still did his thing with 100+ yard outings in 4 of the last 5 games before his injury and that included games with Brad Johnson starting at QB.

If that's what you call a guy "not doing squat" then you must think the best RBs are only average. You don't know shat but you think you do.

I don't by into this ESPN Uncle Tom Jackson analysis of locker room chemistry. How the hell a grown ass man making a million plus dollars a year can't do his job because a receiver on the team receives media attention. That is total BS and soft. Flozell Adams jumps offside during a critical play or misses a block because TO get media attention. Romo can't win a big game because TO gets media attention. Cornerbacks hurt or getting burnt because TO gets media attention. LMAO... I am a Cowboy fan to heart and this was a very dumb ass reaction to the media decision. Jason Whitten catches will be decreased by half because defenses no longer have to leave the middle of the field open do to cheating a safety over on top of TO to prevent the big play. And lets face it, Jason Garrett is so overrated it is sickening. My Dallas Cowboys will be lucky to finish .500 next year. You don't get rid of your only quality receiver and expect to win. RW is as slow as mealases and cannot get open.
Dude, get out of my head. I'm seeing this damn near exactly how you wrote it up yonder. It's the "in" thing to blame everything on TO, but Romo is a far worse problem (on the field where it matters) than TO was. How many times was TO running by his damn self and Romo threw the ball out of bounds or it was way over his head or too damn short??? And all them stupid ass Brett Favreish INTs he threw. That INT against Pittsburgh was terrible. Those 2 he threw to Ed Reed were downright foolish. Not to mention Romo holding the ball like a loaf of bread and fumbling all over the place.

TO was vocal and outspoken, but he wasn't always wrong about what he said. He just took the wrong approach sometimes. That's why there was a "chemistry" problem. A lot of the players agreed with what he was saying. They just weren't gonna be the ones to say it. But on the field, not one Cowboy did better than TO for the entire season. Even with his drops, TO was better. Dallas shoulda said fvck the media.

I never understood why the Eagles and the cowboys invited cancer into their systems. It will be interesting to see what team will want cancer next.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...-that-don-t-want-Terrell-Owens?urn=nfl,146116

The teams that don't want Terrell Owens

The Dallas Cowboys.
The New York Giants.
The Washington Redskins.
The Baltimore Ravens.
The San Francisco 49ers.
The Minnesota Vikings.
The Atlanta Falcons.
The Cleveland Browns.

And the Eagles and Dolphins are listed as teams that are expected to join the list soon. Donovan McNabb and Bill Parcells are the president and vice president of the "Terrell Owens Deserves a Giant Wedgie Club."

wow@that list. who's left?@"Cancer".

So now that TO's gone, what's up with Romo? what are they gonna do bout him? I see they got a new back up QB. I remember watching a few Cowboys games in 07 and Romo could not hold on to the ball when it was snapped(and this was before the injury), that was awful in itself. I can't get with his hype.

I love how everone blames TO..lol I was listening 103.3 and everyone blamed TO but micheal Irvian...
Lets be real... T.O. made Romo so when people say Romo will be better with out him is not going to happen.... Whitten is there best WR so he will be game planed against numbers will drop along with Romos.
Whats funny is that Players came out in said most of the Stories wasnt true about TO...

That List of Teams that dont want him is B... S...... 4 of those teams are trying to work a deal now.....

To be fair Dallas would not have made the playoffs in 2006 if Bill Parcells would not have started Romo the second half of the season instead of Drew Bledsoe.

I believe Dallas would have made the postseason in 2008 if Romo had not gotten hurt in the middle of the season. In those three games Romo missed with a broken finger, Owens sure did not make Brad Johnson better as Dallas went 1-2.

Owens is a solid receiver, but as I keep saying, if the quarterback play is not up to par due to injury or ineffectiveness, the team will suffer. And that injury hurt Dallas more than Owens complaining about getting the ball.

This argument begs this question. Does Terrell Owens make quarterbacks better or is it the other way around?

With the Niners Owens played with Young and Garcia. Both were Pro Bowlers. In Philly, he played with McNabb. A Pro Bowler. In Dallas he played with Bledsoe and Romo. Both Pro Bowlers.

How would his career been if Owens was traded to the Ravens, Bears, Redskins, Lions or a team that has had a history of subpar QB play? Would Rex Grossman or Kyle Boller, Jason Campbell or Kitna have been better with Owens?

It is the old chicken-egg debate.

Man I tried to explain this to some guys who put All Dallas woes on TO...LOL

1. Jerry Jones
2. Defense...Zack Thomas
3. Offensive coordinator. Jason Garret
4. Tony Romo..Can't produce when it counts
5. Wade Phillips
6. TO disruption. And I'm stretching here.

TO is not even the top 5 reason Dallas had trouble. I hate Dallas but I watched a lot of games cause that's all they show next to Titans games.

You shole is right Shaw........

JJ, Defense(due to JJ's bad drafting), OC- overated/ Ray Lewis said they run the most simplistic offense he has seen in the NFL. Romo has no nuts yet. Wade Phillips is a good DC and not a HC.

TO is a locker room disruption if your Qb, OC and HC is weak. He needs to be with a coach that aint no joke but is the one who brought him to the team and not forced on him like JJ did Parcells.

Belichek would be a coach that could handle T.O.
Brady would not take no isht from him.......hell he would tell him look at my rings mofo. LOL

Herm Edwards thinks he will land with Tn Titans because Fisher can handle him. Should be interesting.

The root problem is Jerry Jones who THINKS he's a GM...he's not.

If I was the GM, I would have never signed TO for the numbers he wanted to begin with (he was overvalued imo) but definitely not having the contract structured such that I would take a $9million dollar salary cap hit this season (when I knew he'd be 35 and winding down).

My biggest knock on TO isn't the "chemistry" thing...these are grown azz men and if they are too thin-skinned to deal with TO rants then that's on them. My knock on him is that he drops a lot of balls (I've seen games where he's dropped at least 3 on the regular) to be a go to guy. His production wasn't worth the money...but I wouldn't release him and take a $9 salary cap hit.

Tony Romo... got made a celebrity (as per Jerry Jones design) before he became a good football player. Too non-chalant and cavalier with the ball for me... he's not pushed because he knows he's Jerry's darling.

Jason Garrett... overrated as an OC (prior to last year). Not yet a proven play caller in my book.

Personally...:lol::lol: cuz MB has two favorite teams right now. The Saints and whoever is whupping the Cowboys azz!

Say it again, MB, except that last sentence.

...
Boldin wants a new deal soon or he wants to be traded. There is no way he is going to be paid as a number one receiver with Larry on the other side. I see that it is possible for Boldin to be traded to Dallas.

Darn. I thought Boldin was a free agent, but I just checked NFL.com and you are correct.

I guess he won't be coming to Tampa Bay as I had hoped.

This is the worse football analysis since that idiot on ESPN Keyshawn Johnson summed up his reasoning for home team losing in the NFL playoffs as being an I quote "The wrong team...". The QB and WR success are mutual. Everyone knows that. Despite how good a WR may be, if the QB is garbage and can't get the receiver the ball, there you have it the receiver will not get the ball. Despite how good the QB, if he doesn't have recievers that can run or catch, he will not have good passing stats. But it is more likely that a good receiver will make a bad QB look good, than a good QB is going to make a bad receiver look good. Today's receivers are so good and come in high numbers that we now assume it is a very easy position to play. It is not, African Americans just happen to be a very talented individuals.

Secondly, simply because Drew Bledsoe was garbage doesn't make Tony Romo great nor good. Bill Parcel simply did what he had to do not what he wanted to do. Simply because you have an old as Brad Johnson as your backup QB that cannot move at all doesn't make Tony Romo good nor great. Brad Johnson starting has no reflection on TO nor any of the other Cowboy receivers during the 2008 season, but it did expose the defiencies in that over priced offensive line. Defensives blizted Dallas heavily when Brad Johnson became QB due to knowing he could not move in the pocket, but that also expose that oline was deficent as well, therefore they continued to blizt when Romo returned and he struggled with the pass rush also. Throwing apparent interception and fumbling the ball away.

You can choose to not like TO, but don't use ESPN Uncle Tom Jackson analysis in the process.

MB, Jerry Jones signs many bad deals in my opinion. Jason Garretts contract is a mistake. To pay Romo as a franchise QB was a mistake. The guy has never won anything. Flozell Adams contract was too large and a mistake. I will also say this, I don't neccessarily believe that TO drops were a big issue. TO was charged for drop balls that were thrown at his feet or completely out of bounds, and yes he did have some that hit his hands that he dropped, but those were very few. And trust me, I watch every Dallas Cowboy game. Given his big play ability which only a few players in the NFL possess, 1 out 4 times the ball comes his way you can almost count on touchdown. And, you cannot measure what great receivers like TO bring to table in simple catches. He opens up the field for the Tight End and Running Backs because defensive are using 2 to 3 players to zone him out. If TO wasn't the NFL's Black Sheep, and received fair game time analysis you would know this. As we have become a Nation of listeners (TV Anchors and News Reporting) that simply listens to what someone tells us, we now just regergitate what is said in the media (ESPN). And, this fact isn't being discussed. Too you joy, you will see what I am explaining this up coming season as Jason Whittens numbers are significantly reduced.

BTW - I understand hating the Cowboys if you are a Saints fan. Their is such disparity between the Rich and Poor. My father once explain to that he witnessed a signed traveling into the city that read (I-10 and Saints 0).

When did I say I did not like TO?

The point of my argument is that Tony Romo's impact on Dallas is far greater than Owens' impact on the team. Without him on the field or when he is inconsisent, Dallas more than likely will not be succesful. When he plays well, Dallas wins. No matter how you slice it that goes for every team. You can talk about the defense, OL, coach or receivers. It all comes down to the QB.

When Dallas won 13 games last year, the OL was still inconsistent, Jason Garrett was still the OC and Wade Phillips was the coach and Jerry Jones still the owner.

These guys did not get dumb in one year. It was a combination of injuries, inconsistent play and obviously some questionable coaching decisions, but yet they were one win in Philly away from going to the playoffs.

And as I said before, teams do not need All-Pro or Pro Bowl receivers to go to the playoffs or reach the Super Bowl. Recent history has revealed that. I kbow you might be saying what about Arizona duo? As great as Larry was in the postseason, they were 9-7 just like Dallas.

Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl with the 22nd ranked offense in the NFL.

I would not be surprised if Dallas won the NFC East because they still have talent on that team without Owens.

TGee, if you’re a true Cowboys fan you’ll watch every game and believe me I watch every game. For you to make statements like this about T.O.’s drops tells me you’re a T.O. homer. T.O. had way, way too many dropped passes for a WR of such star status. Were there some that were badly thrown his way? Yes, of course there was. Every receiver has bad passes thrown his way over the course of a season. But you’re not being honest when you say he dropped very few. He dropped plenty of passes so don’t try to make it seem like he didn’t. As MB said, his production last year was not worth the money.

Too you joy, you will see what I am explaining this up coming season as Jason Whittens numbers are significantly reduced.
Don’t let your love for T.O. do this. Witten has been to five straight pro bowls and two of them came before T.O.’s arrival in Dallas. With the exception of the 2007 season, when Witten had a statistical explosion with Romo as the full-time starter, his numbers have actually taken a hit with T.O. being there. In 2004 and 2005 he scored 12 TDs. Since then (‘06, ‘07 and ‘08) he’s scored the same number of TDs (12). Take away that big year in 2007 and he only has had 5 TDs since T.O. arrived.

Witten will be up to his usual tricks this year. That is, terrorizing linebackers and safeties. The dude is the best tight end in the NFL. PERIOD! His numbers may indeed be reduced but it won’t be because that jackarse isn’t there. If Dallas is able to pick up a decent receiver to play opposite Roy Williams, Martellus Bennett continues his good play and becomes a more integral part of the offense, and Felix Jones returns catching the ball out of the backfield, our passing game will be fine with Witten being the main target.

TO is the best receiver in football. Get him the football. He is the go to guy but if you want to spread the ball around for balance rather than winning then you end up losing. Romo is an average QB on a very good team. Dallas need a QB.

Owens is not the best receiver in football. If he was, Dallas would not have cut him. Now, Owens still is a solid receiver, but not the best in football with Fitzgerald, Boldin, Calvin Johnson
Andre Johnson and Randy Moss in the league.

Speaking of Moss didn't he catch the most touchdowns in a season in NFL history last year, but you think Owens, who has been among the leaders in dropped passes the last few seasons is the best in the NFL?

You say Dallas needs a QB. I do not know, considering the team has went through Quincy Carter, Drew Bledsoe, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson since Troy Aikman. There is nobody in free-agency who is better than Romo and Dallas is not going to eat all that salary moving into a brand new stadium by casting aside Romo.

Dallas can go to the Super Bowl if the Arizona Cardinals can without TO.

Ken, I agree the QB position is the most important position on the field, but this isn't a QB versus Receiver position discussion. I am well aware of the Cowboys success in 2007 and the lack luster performance in 2008. And, I agree if Tony Romo doesn't get hurt we will probably make the playoffs in 2008. It is possible that the Dallas Cowboys will be sucessful next year, but we must get better play calling from Jason Garett. Teams caught up with Jason's play calling last year which drew a statement from TONY ROMO and I quote "It appeared the defense knew exactly what we were doing." TO was not our problem. It was inconsistent play from grown ass millionaires. Inquiries hurt the team. Inconsistent play Romo once he returned from inquiry hurt the team. He basically gave the Steelers the game.

I don't love T.O. I simply don't buy into the notion that T.O. was our problem. Simple Fact. And, it does not make sense to take a 9 million salary cap hit for no reason. I think Jason Whitten is a good TE, but I do not want a TE as my number 1 receiver. A defense simply need to play a LB under-neath and a safety over the top and our passing game would be shut down. We better find a quality wide receiver soon. I am not a fool to believe you cut 38 TDs in 3 season and think it is all good. I want to win, not talk about winning.

Wow!

The Buffalo Bills and free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens have reached agreement on a one-year contract. There will be a press conference TODAY at the team’s headquarters.
