Could He Survive at an HBCU?

He probably could survive. Hell whoever gets him they might have some money in the bank if his dad is a generous man lol

Nah...he wouldn't make it at an HBCU but i will see if my contacts can put a bug in Diddy's ear about J-State. We could use the Diddy-Dough! He will get to play in Bham, Alabama every year so his folks can come out to see him.

If my mind is still working JSU has only played in Bham 3 times since it's 12 year existence. Where do you get that every year sh!t from?:emlaugh:

our coaches not going to bring in someone that will be bigger then them..... plus they would have to deal with a lot...

I dont get the "could he survive" part...

I don't either.

I've heard lots of people say certain people couldn't make it at a HBCU. Or couldn't survive at a HBCU. I've heard people say that several times about several different people.

Huh? What does that mean? What special powers or skills do you need to survive at a HBCU?

special skills? when the first time you expect something and it doesn't happen which means you got to do it yourself....that's the special skill...

seen many folks lose or quit jobs because they can't acquire that skill

you recruit that kid and lets say his dad becomes friends with the president for a "possible" donation.....you don't play him and dad gets mad.....who gets the ax?

Thank you Band Fan for "clarifying".

And this is only specific to hbcu's?

That's ridiculous. People all over the world have the ability to adapt to situations. Not just people from HBCUs.

His mom is from Phenix City, Alabama.....and why wouldn't HBCU's be looking at him? His dad went to Howard so it's not like he doesn't have a HBCU pedigree.

Correction Kim Porter is from Columbus, GA and graduated from Columbus High School. There may be other relatives in Phenix City but she is from Columbus. Knowing Kim the way I do and the way her mom made her out to be, Kim probably feel like an HBCU is beneath them. So this conversation can be drawn out to no revelance. The true question should be why our parents that are alums of HBCU's will not send their ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETE CHILDREN to their ALMA-MATERS.
This is what we should be blasting about moreso than focusing on enrolling a celebrities child.

SOME have the ability to adapt...

as for AM4.....that's another question.....if my kid is 6-10, 290 and ranked No. 1 in basketball, he's going pro....might as well burn a year at an HBCU if your parents went there...

Kim Porter is not his mother....... Misa Hylton is his mom & she's from Bama

You both are correct - and I apologize for being so fast - rather than accurate - I know Kim is from Columbus, she WAS good friends with one of my friends from Bama St from Phenix City - and Miss Hylton is the mother and is from Bama.

But my point was not questioning "could" he adapt - would he want to make the effort "to" adapt. Having had the best of everything for all of one's young life to now perhaps not have access to the tip top living conditions etc....those of us who are really hungry - we do adapt and make the best of any situation - would he be hungry enough to make that kind of adaptation? I think it would be a coup - I talked to some of the coaches at the 7 on 7 at Samford this weekend and they said he has talent with a nice upside - why not go after him if he is a player?
