Cotton commits to Jackson State

Thinking about it I cant think any school in the SWAC that has had a quality QB coming from high school...Damm not one SWAC school so transfers or JUCOs if you want to win is the way to go...

Sims at Alabama need to find a home. He should move to Bama North.

As long as the MCC determines who from the East play in the SCG, we have no issues with schools who ...................................

BTW Doug Jr. is blessed to have a Hall of Fame QB and MVP Super Bowl player who is the coach and his Father. A kid cannot ask for anything better than being in this position. Both games I saw him play, Doug Jr has the potential to become the best QB the SWAC has produced.

There have been a few. During our good years we have had some. B. Lee was a 3 year starter and was in our program the entire time and before him JC Lewis was too. Ricks who was SWAC Off. MVP was in the program for his whole time. Richard was too, so was T. Levy, Sam George, and Eric Randall. The only guy that was a starter we had transfer in was Jacoby but he didn't play where he was before. So at SU we have relied on our own QBs. I guess Orlando when he was the OC liked it that way or Pete did. Now with Stump, he seems to want to have young guys grow in that position but we need someone who can mentor and teach them. One thing I could say about ole Pete was he didn't like transfer Quarterbacks too much. He would take other kids at other positions. But not at Qb.

Gram has pretty much been that way for the most part. Can't speak on the other schools. But I agree if you have to WIN NOW and that's how your fanbase is going to be. Then you have to get a transfer kid in for at least 2 years which can give you time to develop that HS kid who has been watching and learning the two years he had to wait. I don't know. I think the QB position is so important that I would almost over recruit that spot.

Sims is probably going to transfer to one of those FCS or other PWCs in Bama. Probably North Alabama or Jacksonville State I would imagine.

So Gram has all players starting and playing who came in a true freshmen and developed into all SWAC players.....I'll wait on that one..

Like I said Of the Starters this year 80% were Comegy recruits who played from their freshmen year.

He only went Transfer Crazy in years 1 and 2.. Dang man let it go..

I believe we are talking about Quarterbacks. JSU is known as transfer U in the SWC, deal with it. It is what it is. If it works for yall so be it and accept it.

na Simms will move back to Va...sit out a year and transfer to Va Tech or Virginia.

Lets be honest, the good QB's aint coming to SWAC schools out of a HS. Every now and then, we might get a diamond in the rough now but this is the youtube era. The players we were getting in the early 2000's are now going to the Troy States of the world....

85% of the time, transfers are going to be a better option.

What baffles me is how people on this board talk about these kids when they choose to go to these PWCs over our schools fresh out of high school then turn back around and dog them out when it doesn't workout and they end up playing for one of us.

What it tells me is you are more concerned with these guys playing sports to make our schools look good rather than it being another young man entering school to get an education while playing a sport.

People talk about these kids when they attend PWCs too. Some of us attend the summer camps where these kids showcase their skills for recruiters. Coming out of high school, some people were very critical of Raymond Cotton. Saying that, while his size is good, he can't throw it in the ocean and is burdened by a parent who thinks he's more talented than he really is.

Some of you might want to read the things said about the kid when he went to Ole Miss and when he left. There's a reason JSU will be his fourth school. There is a reason he has more interceptions than touchdowns.

Just because this is the first you've heard of a player, doesn't mean it's the first time for all of us.

Blu,
Some of us have been peeped game. It is not about the kids. We just want to be the ones pimping them instead of PWC's.
