It was reported on local NBC affiliate that ALSt AD Richard Cosby resigns and returns to his old job at Stillman College.

Alabama State AD Crosby Fired

LC COLE STILL THE HEAD COACH!!!!! AD RICHARD CROSBY FIRED!!!
This was reported on WSFA 10:00 report. They also reported that Crosby had taken a AD job at D2 Stillman
College in Birmingham, Al. I am glad to hear this news because Crosby is totally unprofessional if you ask me. Earlier today he told the news media that Coles was not going to SWAC media day and he (Crosby) was going. However, Coles was at a National Alumni meeting in Atlanta with the university president. Coles will be at media day and I predict he will continue as head coach for at least another season. The alum at ASU is behind Coles.

Watch out SWAC!!! Where is all those JSU haters at now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We coming for U!

HE IS GONE: The Witch Is Dead

Richard Cosby has resigned and taken his old job back at Stillman. There is a GOD. One of our prayers have been answered. Now if we can get the short Joe to do the same.

AMEN TO THAT!!!! ALL THIS GOES TO SHOW THAT ALOT OF THIS MESS WAS TRUMPED UP. THE DAY REKONING IS AT HAND

Well, as the plot thickens.

Oh, and for the record, Stillman College is in Tuscaloosa, not Birmingham.

hornet boy... its a difference between resigned and fired... make sure you are giving accurate information.

I watched the 6:00p.m. NBC affiliate WSFA in Montgomery. And the sports commentator said that the AD Richard Cosby was attending the SWAC media tour in B'ham on Friday and that Coach Cole wouldn't be in attendance. Instead, the President and L.C. Cole was attending the National Alumni meeting in Atlanta today Thursday July 31. The sports anchor also said that appeared to be bad news for L.C.---But, in just four hours later that same news station on the 10:00p.m. news said that AD Cosby was "out" as AD at Bama State and would be returning to his old job at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa. And that L.C. Cole would be attending the SWAC media tour in B'ham. L.C. also stated that "I will be in B'ham at the SWAC media tour". He also said that "no one told him not to show up in B'ham". L.C. has a lot of support in Montgomery and in Atlanta. It appears that the zeal and will of ASU hopeful have made it apparently clear that Cole is going to be our coach and also because of the tatics used in the way of trying to get rid of him. I was one of the 300 fans that showed up at the rally in Hornets Stadium on Saturday to voice my displeasure in the AD, and board of trustee member Joe L. Reed. To every Alumnus of Bama State on the SWACPAGE and who are listening, you are advised to call the Governor of Alabama and the President of ASU and let them know that Board of Trustee member Joe Reed has to step down as a member and that we don't like the way that he and others handled the investigation. I can talk about this in different forums, because we were all advised to circulate this to each and every member of the community around the U.S.---- ASU alumni is sticking together on this one at all cost.

Also remember that former assist. coach Dedrick Bell who brought up all these alleged alligations, didn't show up at a court hearing to answer those alleged violations by top Montgomery attorneys representing L.C. and Johnny. They were going to eat him alive.

Who cares weather he was fired, resigned, forced out or whatever the SOB is out of Montgomery and this is something that we needed. I do feel bad for the people at Stillman. But it's better for them to have to deal with him than us.

Tuscaloosa college hires ASU's athletic director

By Josh Moon
Montgomery Advertiser

Richard Cosby is leaving Alabama State University and returning to his previous position as athletic director at Stillman College.

Stillman sports information director Wesley Peterson and communications specialist Veronica Clark confirmed Thursday that Cosby has been rehired at the Tuscaloosa school and is scheduled to begin work next week.

Cosby left Stillman to take the athletic director's position at ASU in November, filling a position that had been vacant for more than three years. Since taking over, he's played a prominent role in ASU's internal investigation into the university's football program.

On July 22, Cosby said the investigation showed "a football program totally out of control," and forwarded the report to the NCAA. However, he has been criticized by fans and alumni for his handling of the probe.

Several attempts to reach Cosby on Thursday afternoon were unsuccessful.

ASU head football coach L.C. Cole said he was shocked by Cosby's departure.

"I think it's a shame that this guy has come in here and just killed this athletic program and then run back up to Stillman like he has," Cole said. "I hate to be blunt, but that's no class. Alabama State's alumni and fans deserve better than this."

Cole, ASU president Joe Lee and board of trustees chairwoman Terethea Johnson were all in Atlanta on Thursday for ASU's annual national alumni meeting.

Board member Oscar Crowley said Lee told alumni at that meeting that he hasn't determined Cole's future at ASU.

"He said he was still determining what should be done," Crowley said. "He said that he hasn't called an emergency board meeting and didn't have any plans to do so yet. He was asked that specifically."

Cosby, who skipped his scheduled appearance at the alumni meeting, sent a memo to the Southwestern Athletic Conference on Thursday. The memo listed who would be representing ASU at the SWAC's media day in Birmingham today.

ASU sports information director A.A. Moore said his name and Cosby's name were all that were on the list.

"Until someone calls me and tells me differently, I'm going," Cole said. "I'm still the head coach. I heard the president say that today. I'll be there."

Several attempts to reach Lee were unsuccessful.

Stillman's Peterson said Cosby had been a candidate to return to Stillman all summer.

"He applied for the job in early June," Peterson said. "A search committee was formed to find a suitable candidate for that position. (Cosby) interviewed with the committee in late June. In early July, he was selected as the top candidate for the job. He was contacted by the president and asked if he was still interested and he indicated that he was."

Lee probably trying to figure out how all of this went down so quickly. The Big jack-arse should have been in control of this mess 8 months ago! Instead he speaks to the press and says that "I'm not sure. I haven't spoken with anyone to get an update on the investigation".

...dayum shame!
I hope they ate his arse up at the Alumni meeting!

Oh well, it's one down -- now it's time to get the C.O's out!

First off, I'm glad the MF (sorry Kenn, but I'm mad as L) is gone!!!

Like I said earlier, he was an absolute terrible hire to begin with!!!

But I'm outraged at the unprofessional actions of this guy. He knew what he was doing when he sent that report to the NCAA and faxing a report to the AP calling the program "totally out of control". He knew he was going back to Stillman College.
It cant be any more unprofessional and low down than to do some underhanded stuff like this. (He'll get his due at some point) Not to mention the way he has acted all along during this witch hunt. And to think there was some folks on this board who were actually trying to argue on behalf of a guy like this.

Get the hell on cosby, get the hell on!!!!!!!

cosby is nothing but a lowdown jerk of the first order! I'm damn glad he's gone!!!!

btw, I shole did say a prayer for him though to get that job at Stillman.
:lmao:

Different Look

Being that he knew he was going back. He could also say that the program was out of control before he got there and that he could not take it anymore.

Where does this leave the NCAA investigation???

He can't rightly say that because he had interviewed and pretty much got his old job back before the "investigation" was complete.
And then, he rushed this mess to the NCAA, apparently without even considering information that could have refuted some of those allegations.

Aint nothing right or professional about what this guy did!!!!!!!!!!

btw, as far as the NCAA investigation, I'm sure it will proceed. However, the more this stuff plays out, the easier it is to see that it was an effort to get LC out at any cost!!!!

First, the letter writer Bell does not show up for a deposition and now cosby, who spearheaded the "investigation" has resigned, right after the "investigation" is over and right after sending something off to the NCAA!

amazing...simply amazing... :lmao:

The thing that gets me is how this nimrod could do the butcher job in the press that he has over the last 8 months only to bail out now, right before the season starts.

:shame:

Maybe it's me, but it seems like this whole 8 month ordeal was a bit too convenient. :smh:

The sad thing is that this clown still had students' eligibility in limbo prior to making this epiphany of an announcement.

Hey MH, have you seen any of the Richard Crosby "Scroutumn Massage" patrol around these parts since this was posted???

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :bawling: :bawling: :lmao:

Question?...

Cosby left Stillman to take the athletic director's position at ASU in November, filling a position that had been vacant for more than three years. Since taking over, he's played a prominent role in ASU's internal investigation into the university's football program.

Why can't you keep or hire an AD? The position had been vacant for three years before you hired this guy.
