Cooper to USC?

These idiots still talking about some petty stuff that happened to Cooper her first year as a college coach. They said the same things at UNCW and she took them to further than they ever had been and now they are complaining about their team not being as good anymore without her.

USC needs to hire Cooper and let her do her thing. She has proven what she can do with 3 different teams and now it's for her to return to her roots and put them back on the map.

Goestenkors may have taken Duke to the national title game twice but there was a reason she resigned at Texas. She stated she was just tired and wanted to step away from coaching.

Goestenkors was burnt out and just needed a break. She actually had Texas headed back in the right direction, but she kept having all of these major injuries. If she gets those coaching juices flowing again, she would be a great choice.

I agree Frat. Although we all know she loves Houston. The school that should hire her is U of H. Never understood why they haven't offered her that job.

Why should she take a pay cut?

Why in the hell would U of H pay a ladies basketball coach less than TxSU? If they are doing that, no wonder they can't win isht. LOL. No way should any coach at U of H be making less than our coaches. That is small time if that is the case.

How do you think UH got it's nickname "Cougar High"?

Exactly, she wants to better herself (and pay).

So you guys are saying U of H pays their Women's basketball coach less than yall pay Cooper? WOW that speaks volumes. Either yall are overpaying Cooper or U of H is cheaper than a mofo. LOL. I assume they are cheap then. SMH.

Oh well. JR just wondered why they never approached her. They don't want to win. So are they even paying decently for their Men's basketball coach? Is Mike Davis safe from them too?

They got that name Cougar High because it was a commuter school. LOL. Everybody who went to HS in Houston ended up there if they couldn't go to A&M, UT, Baylor, TTech etc... That's what the white boys at NASA told me when all worked together in the 90s.

Anyway, that is still small time C-Leb. No way a school that supposed to be a mid major or better should be paying less than any of our schools for a basketball coach.

Now that they are investing in facilities, I wonder if they will upgrade the coaches. Aren't they renovating Hofheinz to go along with the new football stadium?

Now that they are classified at "Tier 1" status in Texas they think they are high and mighty like Longhorns and Aggies do. Hoffheinz is next on the agenda to be renovated but I doubt for a few more years they'd pay a women's head basketball coach what we are paying Cooper (but things can happen so you never know).

Okay, I just saw where Buchanan makes 180K at U of H for coaching the Ladies team over there. That's more than we pay Banks as a Men's head coach at SU and probably more than any Men's coach in the SWAC, hell more than some football coaches. So yall are telling me you guys are paying Cooper more than a 180K base salary? What the heck do yall pay Mike Davis? I need a job at TxSU then. LOL.

UH does not rcvd a large amount of Alumni Dollars. They are for the most part a larger version of us. That is why they hired a special teams coach as their head football coach. Lack of money.

Banks had his contract rewrote during the season. Meanwhile, I think she will stay at TxSU.

I understand. But we ain't paying him a 180K base salary. LOL.

As for Cooper. She might just do that, unless USC makes her an offer she can't refuse.

I understand all that. But I am still asking the question. Does TxSU pay Cooper more than 180K base salary? If yall are. Then she is probably the highest paid basketball coach in the SWAC period unless Mike Davis is getting even more than that as well. Those salaries listed are just what the school pays and not the boosters etc. Sumlin made that 250K base but he had 500-600K added to his salary by the boosters just like the new U of H football coach is having done. We all know U of H ain't a super loaded with money school for athletics. But they ain't broke either. They have enough alums they could get some money out of if they really invested in having an AD who could sell athletics to their alums. But that would mean spending at least 300-500K for an AD. They are frugal and don't have alums with a sense of urgency or dedication to athletics since it is such a commuter school. But they have enough graduates if they could get some grassroots like campaign going to raise athletic dollars every year, I think they could do better. They shouldn't be that bad off as they have let themselves get.

you will have to research but their contracts are out there on the 'net.

Coop, Davis and Asberry all make the same give or take a few thousand. THarvey brought home $200K with a game guarantee clause

Then they didn't quite tell you the truth. The term Cougar High was used by whites to demean and belittle other whites that did not attend the schools you mentioned. It would have happened whether it was a traditional or commuter school because it was not recognized by the state of Texas as a Tier One institution until very recently.

That's pretty much what they said to me. I didn't get into all this tier 1 detail in my above post, but I knew they used to the term to belittle the U of H alums. Most of the T-Sips and Aggies thought folks who went to U of H couldn't get in their schools. So basically saying yall are no more than an extended High School. The commuter status didn't help them either. LOL. They razed them about that as well. No matter what Tier status they get, they will always be looked at by them other schools as Cougar High.

Until recently SU paid their coaches more in football and baseball than ULL. I think Cador stll makes more than UL baseball coach.

I am from Houston and I never considered UH a.k.a. cougar high.....nor did I consider any of the other PWCs. I did consider North Texas State because of their jazz band.

U of H is much bigger than ULL. In the 4th largest city in America. No way should they even pay less than ULL. Lol.
