Comegy Rumor - Magic City Classic

The 2009-10 Magic City Classic will have a huge impact on JSU football and Rick Comegy. The rumor is "Comegy will be coaching in the Magic City Classic" next year if a certain is beaten.

We're 0 for 3 this decade, but 2 of the 3 coaches looked like good hires at the time. Hughes was coming off a 9-3 year where the HC died in midseason. Comegy had strung together a number of 10 win seasons at TU. I remember watching a TU game and not being impressed by what I saw, but at the same time thinking his record speaks for itself. Well obviously what worked at TU doesn't work at JSU. This time we need to hire a firm to do a real search and dig up some new candidates.

Well Comegy may not have burned up the SWAC but he has renewed the interest in JSU as for players and he has won 1 championship, been to the SCG twice, and managed to beat the so-called established coaches in the East the last 3 1/2 years so I would not exactly call this one a strike out.
The only school that Comegy has not consistantly skull drug in the SWAC is GRAM but he do have a head to head Championship against them.

Wife gone, young son with him.
If it's true, he may just want to be near family to get his feet and mind back stable.

Losing someone like that after being with them for so many years and then have to jump back into the pressure cooker of coaching away from home and family got to be a strain.
