College Football Playoff Poll

Unless you've been hiding under a rock, then you probably know that the first college football playoff poll will be revealed tonight.

Question . . . Who will be the top four teams? Remember, this poll may, or may not mirror the AP Poll. There may be some surprises, or downright shockwaves once this poll is revealed.

Here's what I think the top four will be . . .

1. Mississippi State
2. Florida State
3. Alabama
4. Oregon

Personally, I would put Auburn ahead of Oregon, but this is what I think the committee will do . . . what do you think?

You're probably right.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mississippi State, Florida State, Oregon and Notre Dame though.

I think the purpose of this committee is to break the stranglehold the SEC has on college football and be "fair" to those weaker conferences.

The committee has spoken . . .

1. Mississippi State
2. Florida Stte
3. Auburn
4. Ole Miss
5. Oregon
6. Alabama

I was shocked that Ole Miss made it over Bama. They self-destructed at LSU and we haven't seen how they will recover.

Hmmm.

Three SEC teams. Three SEC West teams.

I gotta feeling some folks gonna cry in the car ....

Well we all know it will not end like that. All those SEC West teams will be gone. One more Ole Piss loss which I think will happen and they are out of there. Alabama is going to beat Ms State in Tuscaloosa I believe. Auburn vs Ole Miss will be interesting. I don't think they will beat both Auburn and Ms State to win out. That Alabama vs Auburn game is shaping up to be pivotal at the end. Poor SEC East team has no chance unless they win the SEC title game.

Not surprising. They said they were going to place an emphasis on head-to-head competition. OM beat Bama.

No worries though. OM crashes and burns on Saturday when Auburn beats them.

Bad thing for them is they all can't go. Auburn and Ole Piss play this weekend so one of them is gone with their 2nd loss. Auburn has to play Alabama obviously and both of them already have 1 loss. Ms State has Alabama and Ole Piss to play and I think Texas A&M. Only one will rep the West for the SEC title game. And the SEC East team can still muck this whole thing up if they mess around and win the SEC Championship.

I think you're right in general. The West teams are only halfway through the season and still have to play each other. Either Auburn or OM is going to be eliminated this weekend. I believe it's going to be OM. Auburn and Bama still have to play. State still has Bama and OM on the road.

I think the SEC West could still get two if State and Auburn win out. Three if Georgia wins out.

It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

I just think this first poll is interesting in that it shows the committee is willing to put more than one SEC team in the playoff.

Bama could move up this weekend without even playing a game, since Auburn and Old Myth play each other. Also, I get the head to head thing, but the fact that Old Myth lost to the 24th ranked team in the nation - yes 24th - to me that outweighs the head to head win over Bama.

I actually believe that Prescott can take Miss State to the promise land JR.

They can beat Ole Piss that is for sure. Especially now that the LB kid is out for the season at Ole Piss. The Bama game is going to be tough. Don't know if they can beat Saban at Bama.

Well since the Big 12 fizzled and you know how they feel about the Big Ten. Then the Pac 12 didn't materialize like they thought. I can see. I tell you what. Florida State better be careful too.

There won't be any more Boise State stories in the near future until they expand to 8 teams. 8-0 Marshall didn't even crack the Top 25

Yep. I was looking at that Louisville - Florida State game. What happens if Louisville wins?

I think you're right about State at Bama. That is going to be a tough one to win. Very tough. I'm just not sure Bama is quite as dominant as they used to be and I think State has a slight chance to pull it off. Slight.

I'm worried about the Louisville game for FSU. FSU STRUGGLES in Thursday night games...FSU also refuses to play Thursday night games at home

You sleeping on Georgia. They are going to beat the brakes off of Auburn. And I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the SCG either.

Florida State is out of the picture if they lose to Louisville.

Marshall hasn't beaten anyone. Their best win is over 5-3 Middle Tennessee(lol TP). Strength of Schedule plays a role and Marshall plays no one. They don't play anyone from a Power 5 conference.
