Coaching Carousel 2017-2018

the last successful HBCU career coach was Henry Frazier so it can be done if you give them time and resources.

BUT thats becasue he got so many exemptions to build the team and his APR was allowed to be poor to build a team from 15 scholarships. Once he had to play by the rules everyone else plays by, he got exposed. Can't fool TP.

Interesting that he's already trying to leave TSU. Definitely curious to see who will be on both sidelines for the MCC next year.

I hope AlaState recovers. While JSU had a distinct advantage, I was starting to enjoy the budding rivalry between JSU and AlaState for control of the EAST!

I wouldnt be mad if JSU fired Hughes but to be honest, there are really no good obvious options out there right now.

Given the dearth of good coaches willing to come to hbcu football, what makes you think the options will be any better a year or two from now? No matter when the decision is made to hire a coach the search will have to take the school to outside the usual hbcu orbit if the goal is finding better coaching.

Some years, there is good stock. Some years it's not. Even when it come to the NFL. some years you have 2-3 good QBs to choose from for the draft, other years, you only have 1.

There are no good options right now. (not for AAMU anyway)

JSU has some options if we wanted to get rid of Hughes. People been calling since the middle of the season when Hughes was 0-6

At least you understand the reason for the AAMU and Valley decisions this weekend. Anybody who got beat by Hughes was subject to denial of contract renewal.
Alcorn beat AAMU but didn't beat JSU, so your theory is wrong again.

You see the results of losing to the worst team in the SWAC. Unlike JSU, when we see a need for change we act promptly. Hughes will remain your coach because the Mafia (or what's left of it) has no power to initiate change.

Next year, you will again have the worst season in JSU history.

Alabama State (FCS): Sources tell FootballScoop, Troy corners coach / recruiting coordinator Al Pogue and Texas Southern head coach (& former Miami of Ohio head coach) Mike Haywood are among the strong candidates for the head coaching position at Alabama State.
What?!! Mike Haywood!!

Haywood mentioned today at the Labor Day Classic Touchdown Club Luncheon that despite what is out on the internet he's home in Houston and he's not going anywhere.

Exactly lol SPADY knew we weren't going for that BS....even if he did go 3-1 vs a garbage jsu football program..no one cared! that's no accomplishment lol

1. PV never quit.
2. PV is more competitive because we were finally able to fully fund all our scholarships and starting adding resources to the program.
3. For the 3rd consecutive year is the number of wins your team finished with.

Go sit down...
Y'all didn't quit? Well damn!!!! I thought y'all did. Well, it looked like y'all did. Anyway, whatever y'all called it, y'all came back strong from it.

You sure y'all didn't quit?
