Re: Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Tells Girlfriend: Don’t Bring Black People To My G

Dude's a billionaire. He don't give nary a fugg what Snoop, Lil Wayne, LeBron James or anybody else thinks.

The most that can happen to him is the NBA forces him to sell the team. Which I doubt they'll do. Even if they did, he'll still live the rest of his life wealthier and more privileged than nearly everybody complaining. None of this is going to hurt him.

WRONG!!!!!!! Lost of money hurts white folks. Take some of his money away and watch how he reacts. If that stadium goes empty when his team plays, watch how he reacts. Look at That white woman that sold food and recipes and when those sponsors dropped her. She cried like a baby.

He's been sued several times. Settled several cases. Still racist. :noidea:

Losing money didn't and won't change this guy.

Sued and losing money "constantly" are two different beasts. If no one comes to his games or buy his teams stuff, that's a different beast. Stock will go down and he loses money "constantly".

Re: Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Tells Girlfriend: Don’t Bring Black People To My G

Paying out money and losing money (i.e. advertizers) is not the samething. Paid out money can be recouped as long as you keep making money. Losing money means nothing is coming in and you still have expenditures. If the advertizers run for the hills he will take a big hit.

Man, this guy owns the Clippers. He's used to people not coming to games. Despite that, he's never lost money while owning the team. He'll survive losing the few ticket sales he gets from Black folks. Merchandise sales may hurt more, but he has long demonstrated that he knows how to turn a profit in a shitty situation. It's not like the Clippers have a history of high attendance and merchandise sales.

Bruh, you're not understanding. Once a white man gets a little taste of success, he'll sell his soul to keep it. Since CP3 has arrived with Blake, that white dude is not trying to lose ALL that money that he's in position to lose now. It's one thing to never taste success and make the money and then gain great success and makes a lot of money and be threaten to lose both again. Yeah, he has money, but his team has NEVER had this type of success or made this kind of money and that type of things has put him in new arena with other owners or other men with that kind of money. Well, this is threatening THAT arena.

NAACP response to alleged statements by Clippers owner Donald Sterling

POSTED: 04/26/14, 4:56 PM PDT

The California State Conference of the NAACP has issued the following statement in response to the alleged remarks by Clippers owner Donald Sterling:

From Alice Huffman, President of the NAACP California State Conference:

“If these allegations are proven true, we are extremely disappointed in Mr. Sterling,â€￾ stated Alice Huffman, President of the NAACP California State Conference. “Recent remarks like these, and those of Cliven Bundy, remind us that racism is not a footnote of our past, but a reality of our present that we must confront head on.â€￾

.....

“As the investigation is in progress, we urge the LA Branch of the NAACP to withdraw Donald Sterling from the honoree list at its upcoming Gala. We also suggest that African Americans and Latinos should honor his request and not attend the games.

Re: Where Cee Dog at???

So we know all White NBA owners are probably behind the scenes racist, but for a man to come out and call Black people "the enemy", how many people knew this man's racism had reached this level? You guys claiming to know that he had this amount of hate in his heart are fooling yourselves.
Of course folks are racist to a degree but who in his right mind can say that folks knew about this amount of hate in the man's heart.
Did Doc Rivers know? Obviously not. Did Chris Paul know? Obviously not. You guys are saying that these upstanding men KNEW this owner was THIS racist and still signed to play for him?! I highly doubt it.

Re: Where Cee Dog at???

I feel bad now, because when I used to live in Los Angeles, I used to support the Clippers by going to a few of their games. But the tickets were free every time I went. I even got a free t-shirt by attending one of the games, but I believe I let my ex-wife keep it as part of our divorce settlement.

So you were living there and even YOU didn't know he was racist to this degree but I'm sure you've heard rumors. Had you known this man was this bad, would you have gone to Clipper games?

Re: Where Cee Dog at???

You gotta be some kinda scumbag to sit up here and give this man a pass and argue to what degree this mans racism reaches. SMH.

Whose giving the man a pass? I think it's folks like you who claim that others knew it was THIS bad are the ones giving the man a pass. You're saying that Doc, Chris, Magic and others knew it was this bad and still wanted to associate with the owner. I don't think that those folks knew it was THIS bad.
It doesn't even seem like the girlfriend knew the man had it in for Black people to THIS degree but you guys claim that you knew. Yeah, right.

You guys claiming to know it was THIS bad are saying you know more than the players and coaches who work for the man. I highly doubt that you do.

None of this will hurt him? Are you serious? Dude can't go nowhere now or even show his face in public. His image is tarnished for life and the very thing he was trying to protect (his image) is all shattered to pieces. He's the new Jimmy the Greek.

Re: Where Cee Dog at???

............people knew bruh, the point is nobody cared because for years the Clippers have sucked. This is just like the celebrity you see on TV with the squeaky clean image, but folks around and folks who have encountered them see how they really act, but nobody says anything until a big story breaks. Them you will see folks coming out about their "crafted" media image.

Re: Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Tells Girlfriend: Don’t Bring Black People To My G

It will hurt him. All focus is on him. People will stop going to games, his own rich friends will distance themselves from him because they don't want to seem racists. He will lose money. If i was playing for him, i wouldn't feel comfortable, he could hurt that entire franchise.

Re: Where Cee Dog at???

It would be hard to believe that Magic Johnson and Elgin Baylor - who both live in LA - didn't have conversations about Donald Sterling when Baylor sued Sterling.

To say all these people didn't know is being real naive. Shoot, an NBA league suit told Yahoo Sports that Stern probably should have taken action against Sterling after he become aware of the discrimination lawsuits against him.

Michael Jordan declines to comment on Donald Sterling allegations

There is no rule that says Michael Jordan has to speak out on fellow owner in Donald Sterling. Him being the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats may be the reasoning why he didn’t speak on the issue, wanting to focus until after the game is finished, but Jordan not having anything to say says a lot about Jordan the person.

Since his days as a player, he hasn’t been the one to speak out on public matters. He’s been pegged as someone who isn’t the most likable person and it’s showing as he declined to make a statement. Jordan being an owner doesn’t stop him from speaking out. Micky Arison, owner of the Miami Heat, released a brief statement before the Heat-Bobcats game started. The CEO of the San Antonio Spurs also had a few words on Sterling. Considering he is who he is, Jordan’s impact could be similar to Lebron James’. James’ “Sterling doesn’t belong in this league†remarks could push the league to act hastier than they would have before he spoke up. Still known as the greatest player to ever touch the NBA, the same could happen if Jordan made a comment.

Re: Michael Jordan declines to comment on Donald Sterling allegations

Jordan just aint got it in him to take a public position on issues.

Re: Michael Jordan declines to comment on Donald Sterling allegations

When has being a coward become perfectly fine?

Folks, regardless of who they are, are not obligated to speak no matter how much we might desire them to. If MJ wants to just own the Bobcats, play golf and sell products, that fine.

If he wants to speak out, no problem.

Re: Where Cee Dog at???

Dude, I said to THAT degree. You can know somebody's a racist but how far would that racism go.

Magic clearly says he didn't know the man was like that. Magic said he THOUGHT he knew the man, but he didn't really know him.

JayRob, nobody is saying that the knew/know how much hate is in the man's heart. They are simply saying that it's been common knowledge that the man is a racist. This is just the worst evidence of it to date. Dude has paid the single most amount of damages in a housing discrimination lawsuits in U.S. history. You've been shown articles outlining his racism. He's shown who he is. Believe him. Apparently, the players and coaches that go there as free agents are willing to overlook it. I'm sure they know what Baron Davis and Elgin Baylor has said.
