Donald Sterling owned up to what he said and hasn't release one apology. He pretty much telling everybody out their to kiss his azz and he doesn't give a muck what y'all think about him. I must admit, I respect that with disdain.

Well you agree with me. Magic's style of play and personality was a perfect fit for LA/Hollywood which in turn made the Lakers so damn popular.

I worked for the City of Los Angeles from 1989 to 1996. When the news broke that Magic had HIV, the people in that city was crushed. I saw women on my job crying and leaving work because they were so upset about the news. It made me wonder did they sleep with Magic. It's an unreal amount of popularity that Magic has in Los Angeles. At one time, Magic was talking about running for Mayor of Los Angeles. Like I said, the Clippers popularity would skyrocket if Magic becomes their owner.

I tried to tell y'all this wouldn't change him. This "lifetime ban" is meaningless too. It doesn't hurt Sterling at all.

I respectfully disagree with you about that. What's the point of owning a team if you have no power to make decision about it?

Having said that...a lifetime ban? Damn!

Too many eyes were watching this for him not to. And the guy having a track record of this behavior only made it easier. The NBA has made it clear that they will not tolerate racism and homophobia.

The owner of the Magic has used his own money to fund organizations that fight same-sex marriage.

He bought the team for $12 million, he will possibly sell it for $500 million and that is a conservative number. How is he getting hurt?
I wasn't talking about his finances. Sterling will have his money. But he damn sure has lost power and he damn shole lost RESPECT. NOBODY wants to be nationally repudiated and villified to the level Sterling has.

I do believe Donald Sterling will be made to sell the team, but I'm sure there will be a deal cut that Sterlling will receive some type of secret royalty check or the new owner(s) would have to pay rent on one of Donald Sterling's properties at some ridiculous amount, which might be one of the teams facilities that stays in his name.

Having said that...a lifetime been? Danm!

Dude is 80. Lifetime ban means shit. And he hasn't had much to do with the day-to-day operations of the team in years.

So what did you want to happen?

OAN...I think this is a good thing. Whether it hurts him or not...it's the right thing to do. Hopefully the owners will vote to force him to sell and this will be done.

I know folks feel/felt the players should have done a lot more but I disagree. I think they handled the situation with class. We don't know what was going on behind closed doors with the players union and we don't need to know.

Folks were/are calling the players sell-outs because they played in the game. It hadn't even been 10 hours and folks were already dogging them out. For what?! Then people quick to point out what our parents/grandparents would have done during the Civil Rights period and before and how they would have quit/walked out. Really?! So y'all really think all black folks quit their jobs because they found out they had a racist boss back then?! :shame:

Great point but I think you're under estimating a racist pride and lust for power. As someone said who wants to be repudiated and vilified on that level?

For some reason I'm interested in hearing what Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and the other Right Wing Nuts have to say. Just to hear a different prospective and justification.

I'm sure you'll hear some of the same diatribe from jokers on this very board :lmao:

Repudiated and vilified? It's laughable that you think he gives a shit. The guy has practically admitted that's his voice and those are his views. He has not offered an apology and I doubt he will.

He has basically been told that he can't attend a Clippers game. Trying to force him to sell the team will only result in a half-billion dollar or more financial windfall for him. That $2.5 million dollar fine, he'll make that back next month.

A blow to his "racist pride". What a joke. Surely, that's not what you all are so overjoyed about.

Slow your roll kemo sabe It ain't that serious. I stand by my statement that you under estimate a racist pride and LUST FOR POWER.

Only an idiot would think an 80 year old billionare racist would change.

Those people are not about to let Magic purchase the Clippers and have ownership to two franchises in Los Angeles!

Why would you say that? Magic is only part owner of the Dodgers. It would make a powerful statement if Magic did become the owner of the Clippers, since he was one of the individuals Donald Sterling told his girlfriend that she shouldn't be seen with in public.
