Chicago City Classic finally announces Grambling/Clark Atlanta Matchup

I knew something was brewing while everyone was complaining about GSU playing at Clark.

When Grambling released their schedule earlier this year and the article said either in "Atlanta or Chicago," I figured that the game was going to be played at the Chicago Football Classic.
I think it could have been played in Atlanta, if Clark Atlanta officials could have secured a larger location for the contest like Turner Field/Georgia State's New Stadium or even Lakewood Stadium.

Exactly but some don't realize about the rumblings lol

Yeah those pesky rumblings that nobody knows about. ROTFLMAO!

That you knew nothing about you mean. We actually talked about it in the HOG months ago, sorry you didn't know about it. Keep up.

Grambling, which finalized its full 11-game schedule over the weekend, will play Clark Atlanta, a Division II HBCU program from Georgia, either in Atlanta or Chicago at Soldier Field, according to a copy of the schedule obtained by The News-Star.

That don't mean squat because you talk about rumblings in the so call HOG.

Are you actually that naive to believe that y'all having some top secrets conversation about a game that was already reported to be held in Chicago?

Smh.... Dude please. Are you a high school kid or something? :D

Wonder will CAU bring their band last year vs central st All CAU bring was their drum line. CSU had their band and Tri- Cities high school prepped for CAU band idk why that happened.

Yup. Most Gramfam I talked to didn't believe we would go to CAU. As crazy as it sounded, I didn't really take too seriously. I just assumed it was a Dawson F up and we would make a recruiting trip out of it.

What you saw last year WAS CAU'S band in its entirety. Thas why they brought Tri-Cities High School Band to play for them. Major mess in the past few years at CAU as far as their band program...just a handful of musicians and their Essence dance team is all their is.

Hopefully things are better this year. CAU normally has a pretty decent band but administration issues....you know....lawd have mercy o_O

That wasn't their full band I live here in ATL CAU had a 20+30+ member band the week before. They only brung the dancers and drum line,.then again them kids do all that for free no money so dedication isn't there but that wasn't CAU full band

I don't know why some (Gram) folks are hard on Dawson. He's a solid AD, who I believed served GSU well considering the circumstances at that time. If nothing else, he will forever be credited as THE person who made the GSU/La. Tech game a reality. And made it possible for Gram to be the HOME team (which the Tech folks hated) when we played them in Shreveport for for the inaugural Port City Classic...a classic game concept that was a great idea in and of itself. Unfortunately, the game didn't attract the type of teams we had hoped after the first year.

Now, I did think the Port City Classic deal was the best deal a FCS ever had vs a FBS program.

Why didn't they take out CAU and make the gameGSU vs CSU those two have history and the 1995 game at GSU was packed. I'll rather gram vs central st.
