Change of Venue for ALcorn/a&t Game.

You are correct. Morris Brown has a real nice stadium (That Gram v.s MBC game was real nice) and if the Georgia Dome is not an option that would be the place to play.
I agree, but in years past, rental of MoBrown's stadium has been kinda high.

What does last year have to do with anything. A draw is a draw. TNState was having losing season for about 7 years straight and they were still drawing crowds in Memphis, Atlanta, and Chicago.

Look at JSU attendance numbers from last year!! The Capital City Classic had more Alcorn people there than JSU people last year. Your entire season was a disappointment from the football team to the attendance at the game. You all are going through the same thing that Alcorn went through. You have a coach that nobody wants there (except for you, TP). The fans let that be known last year with the boo'ing and low attendance at JSU home games. The fans are going to let it be known even more this season after that 2-10 record!

That was the number of tickets moneys turned in BEFORE the game... meaning JSU had about 9k tickets outstanding the friday before the game and A&T had about 600 tickets outstanding before the game. The last quote was based on the final count. Anyway you slice it A&T fans didn't bring it that game.
So did JSU begin selling tickets on the A&T side? That would explain the equal number of fans on both sides of the dome, if that was the case. Maybe a little AGGIE PRIDE rubbed off on them, and they got converted after JSU got behind. It was a BIG PARTY on the A&T side! The band was rockin, the crowd was gettin crunk.....and JSU fans were over there watching tennis.

When hit with the raw facts, he/ she wants to resort to nonsense. Typical.

What's Thrilla up to these days?;)

JSU Toi,

You're full of it. I live in Greensboro and purchased my tickets from TicketMaster. I was at the game and both sides were nearly equally represented. There may have been a few more JSU fans.

How do you account for the very next year where the Peach State classic drew the same amount. Was one-half of the GA dome SC st. fans and the other half JSU fans.

Get real.

So bottom line, are you saying that only 3500 A&T fans were in the Dome that day? If that's what you are claiming, then your numbers are simply inaccurate. You must not have been at the game either.

Ok This thread is getting all crazy. 1st Aint no way in Heyul AT&T had almost as many people in the dome as JSU did. Lets be real. I was at the game and I saw it with my own eyes.

2nd, AW do you really want to get into a pissing contest with JSU over attendance numbers? Ok so you had more in the stands than us in 2004. Well that was the first time you did that since McNair left in 94. And it was a close crowd then with all the white folks just coming to see the game. Has Alcorn ever drawn more than flies to a game that didnt involve McNair or JSU?

So you were there. Tell me, with your own eyes, did it look like A&T had only 3500 fans there? If you answer no to this question, then there is some fuzzy math going on here.

I have no reason to lie because I'm a Jacksonian who happens to be from North Carolina. After watching several different versions of the JSU vs. A&T game, it appeared that Jackson State outnumber A&T fans by quite a bit.

...Carry On..

Alcorn-GSU attendance for September 6, 2003 at Alcorn: 20,085
JSU-North Carolina A&T attendance for September 6, 2003 in Jackson: 11,157

Alcorn-PVU attendance for October 11, 2003 at Alcorn: 18,554
JSU-Alabama State attendance for October 11,2003 in Jackson: 7,528

Any more questions, JST? The only game that you all had more attendance than us is JSU's homecoming when we played Southeastern Louisana.

Don't get mad cause I have facts. The check we cashed spoke for it's self...

And if you took the time to READ I said PRE-SOLD tickets were 3500 DAMN!!! Now if you all had 20,000 people walk up and by tickets then OK but for pre-sold you didn't do ****....

Good! Glad you came back to the thread!

In your unbiased opinion, did it look like only 3500 A&T fans, or does that number seem a little off to you?

Before the game was the key phase. Once the tickets were counted for and checks were cut (about a month after the game ) There was a total of 24,000 presold tickets. A&T acounted for close to total of 3500 presold tickets. JSU accounted for about 17,000 the remaider were give away tickets.

Ummm, don't put too much stock into that, dude. You can ask any fan from JSU, Alcorn, Valley or Southern and they'll tell you that Memorial Stadium, attendance numbers and accuracy don't go together.

Tigerpride said:
Bruh, I was not there but Memorial has been known to undercount games by more than 10K. Gram 1999, AlaState 2001, SU 2003 are games off the top of my head where attendance has been severely undercounted.

Well, truthfully speaking, not really, man. Being that a lot of people at that game were from the AUC and were Atlanta high school students who were there to see the bands battle, no, the A&T numbers really aren't that off. From my tapes, the Aggies didn't have as many fans as Jackson State did. I wish that I knew how to post video clips on the enternet so that I could show you. I'm not trying to hate on A&T, because I've got much love for the Aggies, but being from NC and attending Jackson State, I can attest that A&T does not travel as well as Jackson State or several other SWAC schools. They're "big time" on the east coast, though.
