Championship game on campus prompt more upgrades and renovations to campus stadiums?

Having the game played on SWAC campuses raised the obvious questions about size and quality of facilities, and while some think it isn’t a good idea, it could actually cause more institutions to add more to their stadiums to accommodate the big game.

Just a thought!

Well, you could be on to something.

Our stadium, Mumford, PV's stadium and Jackson are already good enough

I think PB is fine or they can move to War Memorial in PB. TxSU could always use the soccer stadium they play in I imagine. Really only Valley and AAMU have a capacity issue with no backup. Even AAMU probably could bring in bleachers for the end zone. I like the campus idea now that I saw that atmosphere

AAMU stadium is not much smaller than Alcorn's.

Have you been to AAMU stadium?

If we want to have these events on campus, take out the team with the best record as host and have the institutions bid to host every three years.

I think the format can work for campus stadiums hosting....for those that run into seating issues..., the swac office and 2 teams should work together to either get short term fixes like extra seating or work with the host team to move the location to a location within the state that will be good for both parties... I’m okay with this than pro stadiums because of the financial strain to rent the venues for conferences play, stadiums looking packed out than larger venues we’ll never fill all the way, profit for both schools to add or renovate stadiums in the distant future, and a better atmosphere.

exactly...we have endzone hills in our stadium just like Alcorn..look at an aerial view of Louis crews and we have plenty of space....that's why the MCC might go home and home in the future if many alums on both sides get their wish

These people know the deal. They just like taking shots at A&M.

You know the SWAC still has a complex about us joining the conference

Like Kenn stated... everything sounds lovely on paper until it actually has to function to fit the game...

Valley can do the same thing. I know we used to do it when we first started playing JSU at Rice-Totten when I was in school. I would imagine our stadium might be expanded before that happens though (but we're at least a year or two away from possibly crossing that bridge)

PV stadium is too small.

I don't know why people keep thinking that PV's stadium (at this point) can host it but UAPB or AAMU (with bigger stadiums) can't (I've been to both).
