Cell Phones

Ahhhh the Nokia 918. That was my 1st one. A lot of people kept that phone for a long time. When I worked for Alltel people did NOT want to give that phone up.

I was like that too until I saw the newer version, which is the one in Snake's response.

When I find something that works, I see no need to change. Before I got my current phone, Sprint called me almost on a weekly basis to try and get me to upgrade my phone.

Got my first Nokia in 1997. I went to Sprint in 2000. I switched to Nextel in 2005. I'm switching again just as soon as my contract is up.

Yeah I can't lie, it was a dependable phone. After that I went thru a couple of Audiovox phones and a few Motorola phones before I rode out with the Star Tac. I still have my Star Tac and even with a banged up antenna that is my back up phone. I had an LG phone that was stolen about 6 months after I got it and I ended up with a Motorola V60s that I need to upgrade now. I passed by a kiosk the other day and the guy said "I can't believe you still have this brick phone". I was mad that he's so young he doesn't even know what a brick phone looks like.

aint no way in hell i could have the same number from 1997, do you know how many people i'd be sending to voicemail? i'm destined to change my number once every few years...

Here's my first phone:

Dayum, not the phone bag!!! :emlaugh: And I just had a flashback:

Why during my junior year in HS, my BF picked me up for a movie in his mom's car and it had a car phone- kinda like that bag phone. And we thought we was da shat!!! I called my family and was like, "Guess what??? I'm calling ya'll from a car phone!!" :emlaugh: Dude was like, "don't stay on too long- it's like 1.25 a minute!! :lmao:

Back then, we thought only rich folks had "car phones"........now I see homeless folks and little kids with dey own cell phones.

You had to be rich or ballin to have a bag phone back then. Beepers were still popular during that time and I had one. Just hit me on tha hip, and I'll pull over to a pay phone and call'ya back.

When I was in High School, I was dating a girl that had a cousin with a car phone. This was back in 87. We all thought dude was big time because the only people with car phones back them I knew of were in movies. James Bond type schit.

Man the first bag phone I saw was my uncles back in 89. He has his own construciton business and he had a bag phone up until the new joints popped off. I thought dude was rich. LOL

And Beepers that's a whole other story. Man everybody wanted a beeper after that Sir Mix A Lot song came out. I got my first beeper in 93 and upgraded to the fly one that snapped in the case. That ish had to be on your hip on the daily(Form and Fashion)LOL. I even had one of those big arse Sky-Tel beepers that everyone in Jackson wanted.

Snake brought up beppers. I saw a dude with one the other day and I was like what the hell you need that for. LOL

I will never forget my ex-girl saying ' I paged you 20 times!!!!!Why didn't you call me back???? In my best Scooby Do Voice. "I don't know":goodbad::sperm::sperm::licky::banana::lol:

I remember people wearing beepers that didn't even work. Every one had one on the hip.

i got a pager in the 10th grade. that's how my family, friends, etc kept up and got in touch with me. luckily, my brother worked at the paging company(Arch Paging back then), so i didn't have to pay for it. i had it until i got a cell phone. i had both of the ones that Shawiggi posted, except the first one i had in purple, and the second one i had in green. oh the pager days...

I got my pager in the 11th grade. At 1st my mom wanted me to have one and then she didn't. I did a lot of extracurricular activities and had an after school job so it made it easier to get in touch with me.

Bought my first cell phone in '88. Had a pager from about '87 until about three years ago. That was a way to control phone minutes. I gave out the pager to most people. Then I could call back when and where I wanted to. Also the sky pager could receive email before the cell phones were able to do so. I needed that capability.

....I bought my beeper, and paid the beeper bill at Greenbriar Flea Market.

Seriously LOL

my mommy did that flip floppin too at first, like she didn't want me to have it. after she realized the benefits of keeping up with me, she blew me up more than anyone.
