Cam Newton is not a fan of Bulldogs

That tap dancing step in fetchit would rarely try that with those folks( like Ed Reed) . Seems to have a very short fuse for schools that he doesn't respect anyway & would never have dreamed of attending. "I'm doing these negroes a favor with my presence here".

Why do HBCU'S bother with these tap dancers?

Prime Sanders said that he was proud that Vick and Jackson : " To have 2 young brothers that had tremendous careers in Pro Ball- to "come down" & humble themselves & coach at HBCU's...

As an HBCU fan that is insulting. These clowns think that they are doing HBCU's a favor.

The hilarious part is my God sister and the rest of the family is mad because the mascot got beat up. Of course they called me a a hole for laughing about it. lol It's the classic. It's drama. It's supposed to happen. lol

The mascot did too much....

Maybe so , but this is an excited teenager inside that costume . Are we as Black men that emotionally immature that any perceived slight deserves a violent reaction? We saw this embarrassingly played out internationally with Chris Rock/ Will Smith.

Young man appears to try to apologize to Cam at the end of the video. Cam is a VIP guest, assumed bigger & older man who could have handled an annoying mascot better than going Will Smith on them.

Are we this emotionally immature as Black men? Is this why we see so many HBCU Homecoming shootings recently?

Man, yall crying for that bulldog mascot? Yall didn't see what happened. The mascot knocked Cam's hat off his head. That's where it all started. Cam was trying to celebrate with the Hornet cause he had just won the race and the bulldog knocked his hat off his head.

Well, Cam is from the A and ............ .. all you heard was "Watch out na!!" ~Pow! Pop! Pow!!~ "Gowan na!! I ain't playing na!!!" ~Pow! Pop! Pow!~

Maybe black men are this emotionally immature. Any perceived slight can become a violent altercation that's justified.

Cam Newton almost gets in a scuffle with Alabama A&M’s mascot on ‘First Take’

“Watch out, stop playin’ with me,” Newton tells the mascot after the dust settles between the two. “Stop playin’ with me!”

Former NFL MVP Cam Newton has established a solid second act in the media after stepping away from the gridiron. However, one moment got a little too close for comfort–and it all happened on national TV.

During a “First Take” segment involving rival HBCUs Alabama State and Alabama A&M, Newton, alongside Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Clark, hosted a 40-yard dash mascot race between the Bulldogs and the Hornets. Although Alabama State’s mascot clearly won the race, Alabama A&M’s mascot took a little exception to Newton’s celebration with his rival school and decided to knock Cam’s hat off.

Immediately, Cam slaps at the mascot’s head before telling him, “Watch out,” before pushing him aside. The mascot then walks behind Newton as Cam tries to reapply his hat before Newton turns around, prompting the mascot to halt in his tracks and pat Cam on the back.

“Watch out, stop playin’ with me,” Newton tells the mascot. “Stop playin’ with me!”

In recent years, several incidents in which Newton has had to defend himself have gone viral. In 2024, the former Carolina Panther was the subject of a viral video during a youth flag football tournament, where three men confronted him and subsequently treated them like a child, placing one in a headlock and ragdolling another before spectators eventually broke it up. There’s also the photo of Newton, with a smile on his face, in the middle of a training camp fight with then-teammate Josh Norman in 2015, the year Newton won MVP and led the Panthers to the Super Bowl.

The 6’5” Newton, who just had his college jersey retired at Auburn, isn’t someone I’d want to run up on in any capacity, especially if I have a mascot head on. Outside of his “4th & 1” podcast on YouTube, the Heisman Trophy-winner can be seen on “First Take” and the newly launched “106 & Sports” alongside Ashley Nicole Moss on BET.
