A couple of years ago, a well known Pastor here in Memphis encouraged his congregation to patronize black-owned and Christian operated businesses. This is the result BAMM!!!

That's right...if we don't, who will?

However, I was talking about doing business with them, such has starting up a business together OR having them/she/he handle some business for you, such as legal work, your taxes or buying a house.

Yes maam. I don't feel there is anything wrong with it. We "try" to stress at my church that we have all the resources someone may need right within the church.

Church folks ring my phones off the hook with legal issues. From major legal issues to what is considered minor. I took an oath to keep the info. confidential. I'm not able to lose my license by sharing what they express to me. It may be that they trust me more because they see how I carry myself. Whereas they may feel uncomfortable going to an attorney they just find out about in the phone book. I either help them, show/tell them how to help themselves, or refer them to another attorney. This is my ministry and I act as such. That's why when I get the calls in the middle of the night, I just say "thank you Jesus for allowing me to be a vessel".

As far as folks knowing your finances and income and all that, people can find out any and everything about you they may want to know. They can start by looking on the internet or calling up someone who can call someone who can call someone. There is no such thing as privacy in this world. I guarantee you.
