Broussard to recommend hiring of Dawson Odums

This has to be one of thee WORST coaching hires since Stump. Why you gonna hire somebody like Stump who had a losing record for years and hire a defensive coordinator from THAT losing staff?:lol::lol:

SU will be the same team next year as they were this year, plus or minus one extra win or loss.
 



This is not funny...this is FN halarious.
This coaching search could not have been handled more poorly. The dude started out not giving himself enough time, then he named coaches as finalist that didnt even apply for the damn job, then told the public about conversations he was having with other folks about the job unecessarily, and then he ended up with the most unqualified least desirable person for the job after saying that he was having a nationwide search.

And to think the folks on this page were saying stuff like, "I believe in Doc...Doc is going to get it right...Doc wont let us down." I tried to tell them that this guy has NEVER done this before and his inexperience showed at every step.

But then again, Broussard is doing exactly what they hired him to do....not make a difference, stay out of the way, keep things going the way they always have. This is a piss poor hire of a piss poor coach by a piss poor AthleticDirector.

Think about this, SU just hired somebody that NO ONE ELSE in the world wanted. He could have hired a real coach and stipulated that Odum remain on staff as the DLine coach and Odum would have been tickled pink. The SU fans wanted someone to come and make a big splash. Well at least they got the BIG part.
 
Jenkins is a proven winner. Spady has done well at Grambling and learned the pistol offense at Nevada, so i never wouldve thought Odum would have beat out those two...I thought SU needed a hire to rejuvenate the Jag Nation ehhhh i dont know about this one Odum resume isnt very good hope it works out for em but not looking good on paper....

the process was a "Mickey mouse" operation, reminds me of another hiring process in the swac. Good luck to odum.

He did but coming off a National tv loss to Valley and fired coach SU was motivated isht happens in a rivalry game they deserve to win...still doesnt change the facts on Coach Odum.

You guys learned a new word this month....transparent

Well you cant be transparent about everything. Especially when you are pursuing someone thats not even interested in the job. You guys were preaching, "why would he NOT come to SU" "this is a step up" "surely he will leave his job for more money" "what will his wife say" "we are a top BCF job." The problem is you are NOT who you think you are and Jenkins proved it. Maybe Odums will return you to those 10 glory years you enjoyed. But it aint looking good.

Jenkins didn't want the job.
He used SU to stack his coins on the beautiful campus in Daytona Beach.
Spady was just a filler.
SU was hoping Jenkins took the search/interviewing process serious but he didn't so they finally said screw you & hired Odums (simply because he beat GSU, JSU, & FAMU)
And They can afford to pay Odums pennies considering their financial status.

Broussard really made a name for himself :tup:
 
We TRIED like hell to tell 'em, but they chalked our brutal honesty as being hate. Some folks love getting used time and time again.

Wrong....jenkins was trying to work out a deal wit Kent st. ...thats why he needed more time...and they didnt give him the position and we didnt extend his time....so he had no choice but to do BCU.....ion even think his new contract has a raise in it ....if so it's not much....so he shot his self in the foot

Yep. BCU has him by the nuts now. Lol. He was hoping to become the OC at either Kent State or at another FBS school.

If you didn't extend the man's request for a few weeks, that was VERY dumb on your AD's part. And don't give me that recruiting crap. You guys should've waited until after New Year's to make your decision. Yall did it for Stump, whose much worse than Jenkins. It's not like yall have five star recruits on hold.
And you all say this man is good for SU?! LOL!!
 
SU just flat out got played and stuck with a bad coach. This is what you get for hiring someone that doesn't have a damn clue. Your worst case scenario was DawsonOdums and quick acting like it ain't so.

Y'all would rather have Pete than DawsonOdums ....who names their child Dawson? That's a lil white boy name.
