Brothers: What Problem Do You have With Sisters

I placed this here because I wanted intelligent comments....not bashing but realistic things that women do that can be fixed without them (being women) changing themselves. I also posted it here instead of the Men's Forum because I wanted to hear the feedback from the Sisters.

So I gues I'll start first:

1. I have a problem with a woman who has been in messed up relationships and now feels that all men are no good.

2. I have a problem with a sister feels she is entitled to a brother who is established when she is not established and struggling.

I would have to co-sign #1, although they generally have a good point,, BUT to their point,,, i'd argue, as I have for decades, that THERE CAN'T BE NO-GOOD MEN WITHOUT NO-GOOD WOMEN SO IT'S ALL EQUAL, SO DON'T GIVE ME ALL THIS "ALL MEN ARE NO-GOOD" MUMBO-JUMBO!!! IF ALL MEN ARE NO GOOD, SO ARE ALL WOMEN!!!! DUH??!!!!! What, you telling me that all the "poor women taken advantage of" by "dispicable males" have no clue what's going on and are not complicit in the acts??!!! give me a motha-lovin' break.

#2 i'm neither here nor there on. many males like a woman like that because we have more control if we have a more domineering personality and can take advantage of them. on the other hand, if you are a "nice guy", this kind of female can really take your arse to the hole, therefore I'd have to call #2 a statistical draw.

Well, my opinion doesn't deal solely with women, but can be applied to everybody (men and women).

I don't like people who bring complex, emotional baggage into new relationships....

I wish people would be honest with themselves (and anybody interested in them) when they have deep emotional scars from a previous relationship. I think it's only fair to 'warn' the other person of the limitations and/or issues that they're dealing with....

Too many people are too quick to assume that they've gotten over a past (bad) relationship, and they jump into a new on (when they aren't ready). And sooner or later, the old issues come-up, and cause changes in the new relationship.... And the sad part is that, usually by this time, either the new relationship has grown into something special, or some committments have been made, or (heaven forbid) kids are now involved..... But now it's too late to confess about past issues (personal ones).

I know of several friends (men and women) who (I feel) are in no condition to start any new relationships, because they haven't seriously dealt with the issues and emotions from the last relationship.... But these people are the main ones rushing into any new relationship, and aren't informing their new person about their past... Then the past jumps-up and bites 'em.......

That's what I hate.........

Based on the people I've dealt with...

I have a problem w/people who wear masks. They come off as if they are one person or one way & over time - you find they are aren't who they appear. Normally this is after you've gotten close to them. TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE. Don't pretend to be honest when you KNOW you're a liar. Don't pretend to like kids, then beat, sexually abuse or even kill your lady's child. If you don't like to work/keep a job- say so. If you hate doing "family things" - say so. If you're on crack - say so. Be a person of integrity. Some people are going to be able to deal w/the "real" you; some can't. I think the main reason for masks is that people are afraid that if people knew who they really were - they'd be despised & scorned. Don't be afraid of rejection. There's someone out there who will see you right where you are & appreciate you. Don't be fake.

Women need to realize that men always think differently from women. Sometimes women expect you to do something because it is "obvious" to them, but not to the man. Men (just like women) are not mind readers.

Thank you!!!!!!!

Sistas who date men of other races because they think they'll get something different.

Sistas who are high maintenance so they don't have to look at themselves.

Sistas who swear up and down they want a good brotha but are routinely and consistently attracted to the opposite.

Sistas who LOVE thugs and claim nice men aren't "bad" enough for them. Preference is one thing, attraction to glorification of a lifestyle is another.

College sistas who SWEAR they're not material and superficial but won't date a brotha without a car. This is college gull, get real, everybody's broke.

College sistas who don't read.

Sistas who get mad at a brotha gawkin at what she's wearing and SWEARS she wears it cuz she likes it. So do I. Don't like it, STFU and keep walking. Want it to change, make it so it doesn't look slutty. It IS that way dumass. :lecture:

Sistas who have a problem with brothas who read and don't act subservient to sistas who do. This one sophomore in my class. 1. she's out of her league in a senior class 2. it's not my fault I and half the class doesn't agree with you because we've read more by now

Sistas who are spoiled and don't know it. :saw:

Sistas who have BAD HYGENE. WASH YO ARSE, GULL! I WASH MINE!!! GET WIT IT! :kaioken:

I'll be the first to admit that "nice guys" finish last, in SOME cases.... I don't know about other sistas, but my ideal man needs to have a balance of intellect and bad boy. Not the abusive kind, but one who doesn't let me have my way all the time, and has his own individual MIND.

A guy with goals and ambitions will do right now. I just graduated from college last year, and know of the financial struggles during and post-college. But if you have goals and you're making an EFFORT to pursue them, then I'll stand behind you 100%....

Sistas who are spoiled and don't know it. :saw:

My dad did spoil me, but I've never been the kind of lady to rely on a man for the things I have now. I have everything I have now because of one man God....I hate to see women use men for their money, when they can go out and get it themselves.

No. I'm talking about women who like THUGS. Not bad boys. I'm talking about a dude who is currently selling dope, blasting at folks because of it, etc.

Great. You aren't the norm. Congrats on graduation too.

Cracks knuckles: perhaps I should have given my experience with a female who had no idea she was spoiled. In conversation in class, she stated that she thought I lived in a bubble because when I debate in class, my views seem to be totally out of the box. She also said that she sees me as living in a bubble because I wear ironed shirts most of the time that have the Nautica name on it. Let me add that this girl is driving a new truck her daddy paid for, wears ALL the latest styles and doesn't need a scholarship or financial aid to foot the college bill. In no way am I saying that she has too much or coveting what she has, but when it comes to me, I WORKED to get my Nautica shirts, I'm WORKING to get a car, put myself through school and I'm HUSTLING playing my horn at gigs, and with 3 different bands at school to pay the bills. This is my struggle. She IS spoiled because she does things from time to time that ruin things she has and they are replaced monetarily and immediately by her daddy. She doesn't realize this and seriously doesn't care to notice it. And in my case, all she sees is a guy who almost never wears FUBU but loves NAUTICA (simply because I do, go figure). She spoiled and doesn't know it. :hat:

How can a domineering man have more control over or take advantage of this type of woman if she has a "I don't give a fkuc - whatever's clever" attitude?

Easily influenced. A headstrong person is usually someone who can be convinced of an ideal easily.....like showin she's bout it by not getting mad if I want to stray but by not breaking up with me either. (hypothetically speaking only)

either the relationship will happen or it won't precisely for that reason. either the domineering man will prevail or there will be no relationship,, the man absolutely will not be dictated to and dominated,, that's the assumption here.

from my experiences, i have male and female friends and from my previous relationships.......from the female aspect....(i get my sources from girl talk) most if not all my friends are college educated and most of their others are not. that poses the first problem because she is already exposed to much more that he and there is some jealousy involved becase he hasn't seen much more than the old neighborhood. most of my friends have nice secure well paying jobs while their others don't, that often causes a problem (married friends) because he spends his money and is always trying to borrow from her. their men are irresponsible with money, house chores, and family obligations. to make that story short- my girlfriends end up having an extra child (their other's) who knows how to hang out with the guys, fck off, etc. but is just not quite that functional adult and truth be told, a couple of those brother's will be getting walking papers. what makes it sad was the guy was perfect at first then when they either got married or deep into the relationship, he flipped the script.

for the males- the biggest complaint is she is always tired, dosen't dress sexy anymore, not female enough, too emotional, has gained weight, my favorite "she has let herself go", she never wants to do anything, she's spolied,(you talk now, but if u have a daughter, you know and if you don't u will), she is on the phone all day, she has no sense, she's always gone with her girlfriends and they are some PROS. i could go on all day but i refer them to the above paragraph.
- she wasn't fat until she had your child or you took her arse out to eat every night while you were trying to get up in those jeans, she is emotional because of your triflin arse, she is tired because you all are 90/10 with the children and plus she has had to clean up, cook, tend to the children, see just what the HE>> you wanted when you cut the dayum playstation off. she dosen't dress sexy as much because you are either gone or the boys are over.

me myself, my ideal man would be one that works(full-time) somewhere other burgerking, he loves to read, up on politics, can manage his money, strong, understanding, has long and short term goals, can play me in the playstation, shoot pool, bowls, has to be a jsu fan, somewhat cultured (ex. likes art galleries, museums, etc.) knows how to act in public, has more than elementary conversation, have an occasional beer, grey goose, remy martin etc. and to ensure his happiness, i cook, clean, take care of my home, i have my own money, i read(am intelligent), bottom line- i do what i have to, to keep that man of mine happy.

I got it. I thought "Neither here nor there" meant being nonchalant. I now understand that it means(in my mind) being gullible, which means easily duped or cheated. This now explains how someone domineering could have an advantage over her. Gottcha.

I think I know what you're saying, but could you explain in Lamen's terms the above statement?

My problem is this. I now believe that this has to be a part of human nature. But if a woman gets a man such as the one described above and minus the problems further above...and he is quite giving of these characteristics to the woman....the woman will either

1. find a whole new list of things to be wrong with the man

or

2. grow tired and start to be attracted to the opposite or purely superficial things

Now it seems the less a man has of the charateristics sought...or the less he shows them to the woman the more the woman will strive to stay with that man and/or try to get those characteristics from them(at least for a time). I get this from both personal and shared experiences. Its sad to say that it seems almost like using a carrot on a stick to make a donkey go. They will continue to go as long as the goal is not reached but yet not to far. The whole idea sickens me.

I am not saying this may not occur in the other direction but this is the case I see the most.

First of all, your entire post is on point. Next, carrot......donkey....go...too funny  - but damnmnmnmnded sho' true. I always say, a person will only make a change when they get sick & tired of being sick & tired & only they can decide when that'll be.

Brothers ARE selfish at times.

Brothers don't pay attention to detail at times.

Brothers have a hard time paying attention period.

Brothers are VERY simplistic.

I can understand the latter of my list of things that I have a problem with, but only to a certain degree. Some men can be SO simple that you have to spell EVERYTHING out for him. :smh:

Unbelieveable!

I agree smalls....It's not in their nature to think detailed. Women are more apt to this characteristic because we take care of children, do most of the house duties, pay the bills; hell, we basically mentally tend to a family scheduele, basically hold the family together (to a certain extent). Men are more more prone to paying attention to the "ball game." :p Peep the following example:

ex: "Oooh! Did you see that man? He jumped about 5ft in the air, left foot in front of right turned around and did a 360 before slamming the ball in the basket with his right hand!"

Sorry, fellas, you know it's true! :p

No, seriously, some of us are Virgos now.
