What makes a Pastor so different? He was a man when he was born, he's a man throughout his tenure as a Pastor and will be one afterwards. That's like saying a teacher shouldn't have dumb kids of his/her own. That's JUST a title.

He only answers to God and his wife. He doesn't HAVE to do anything.

LOL ok...

You folks are funny. We all done had sex and got freaked out without being married. Now did yall ask God for forgiveness? Just saying lets be real. We all done did it raw, protected and drunk. Now what were yall saying?

You're right. But as his POSITION in that Church...he failed, HORRIBLY. Just like a CEO of a company. Why is he any different?

Again...EIGHT YEARS?! I'm not saying he should go to Hell, I'm just saying he clearly is not fit to lead a CHURCH at this time. He's lost his way.

He's still no worse than those Catholic priests who offer communion every week while raping little boys for decades and never go to jail. This is where religion gets one thrown off the path of logic based on a book that's no more inspired by and all-knowng power than Moby Dick.

So what's your view on folks who don't believe in God who commit adultery, rape, rob, steal, and kill? You never seem to have a view on those people like you? You never seem to voice your view on those folks.

He's okay with Charles Manson doing it.

What does believing in some god have to do with this? Adultery, rape, robbing, stealing and killing were committed by the very folks who created Roman Catholicism?
Any person who commits a crime against another should be punished and usually they are.
As a matter of fact, non-religious folks (and nations) as a whole have fewer violent crimes, lower divorce rates and more stable families. Go figure.

On the other hand, the more religious one is, the higher chance for divorce, a non-stable family and more violent crimes.

Just like I thought. You make your view sound great. So you really believe that folks who don't believe in God don't commit crimes huh? Amazing.

The operative word is "fewer". Look it up and you'll learn something else new today.
Seems like the more religious folks are, the more violent they become, the more adultery they commit, the more fornication they commit and the more divorces they end up having.

The wife of this pastor would be within her right to leave this man, but seems to me that many of the church folks probably encouraged her to forgive him and stay with him cause it would make the minister look bad.
This man cheated for eight years and is still considered quaified to lead a congregation?! That's what blind religion will get you.

Just like a CEO, that's for the BUSINESS to decide if he should go or not ..... not us in the "peanut gallery."

Which religion?

Charles Manson believed in what he called "Helter Skelter", a term he took from the song of the same name by the Beatles. Manson believed Helter Skelter to be an impending apocalyptic race war, which he described in his own version of the lyrics to the Beatles' song. He believed his murders would help precipitate that war. From the beginning of his notoriety, a pop culture arose around him in which he ultimately became an emblem of insanity, violence and the macabre. The term "helter skelter" was later used by Manson prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi as the title of a book that he wrote about the Manson murders.

Helter skelter was believed to be an impending event moreso than a religion.

Helter skelter was believed to be an impending event moreso than a religion.

Religion is a set of variously organized beliefs about the relationship between natural and supernatural aspects of reality, and the role of humans in this relationship. While religion is difficult to define, one standard model of religion, used in religious studies courses, was proposed by Clifford Geertz, who simply called it a "cultural system".[1] A critique of Geertz's model by Talal Asad categorized religion as "an anthropological category.".[2] Many religions have narratives, symbols, and sacred histories that are intended to explain the meaning of life and/or to explain the origin of life or the Universe. From their beliefs about the cosmos and human nature, people derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle. According to some estimates, there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world

You chose Manson but you could easily have chosen several other mass murderers and guess what? The overwhelming majority of them would be Christians. I think you already know this though.:snicker:

Okay how about Dahmer?

Okay how about Dahmer?

I will let you make up your own mind on what he was because I say he was a Christian.

The Religious Affiliation of Milwaukee Serial Killer
Jeffrey Dahmer

Jeffrey Dahmer was one of the most infamous and notorious serial killers in American history. Part of the reason he became so well known was the number of victims he killed: at least 17 young men and teenage boys between the years 1978 and 1991. Another reason for Dahmer's infamy was the peculiar nature of his killings. He stored the body parts of many victims in his apartment. He also engaged in cannibalism, although the extent of this is less than was widely believed after this detail was sensationalized in media reports. Dahmer's killing spree was finally discovered and halted in 1991 when one of his intended victims was able to escape and lead police to Dahmer's apartment, where the remains of 11 bodies were found.
Dahmer was born into a family of devout members of the Stone-Campbell denomination known as the "church of Christ" or "Churches of Christ." He was an active churchgoer until the age of 5. After that, Dahmer was never again actively religious or a regular churchgoer until after his arrest and imprisonment. After being imprisoned for his crimes, Dahmer sought out the church of his childhood and petitioned to be re-baptized in the Church of Christ. This caused some controversy, but he persisted until he was able receive this rite, which he was apparently sincere in requesting. Shortly after being re-baptized into the Church of Christ, Dahmer was murdered by his cellmate.

Jeffrey Dahmer's religious affiliation as a member of the Stone-Campbell denomination known as the Church of Christ is unusual. We are aware of no other members of this denomination who were famous serial killers. Jeffrey Dahmer's homosexuality, on the other hand, is not unusual among serial killers. The fact that Dahmer was a homosexual, as were most or all of his victims, was widely publicized at the time of his arrest and trial. Prior to his arrest, Dahmer was active in the Milwaukee gay community, although the word had reportedly spread through this tight-knit GLBT community that Dahmer was a person who should be avoided. Other well known homosexual or bisexual serial killers include Andrew Cunanan, John Wayne Gacy, Patrick Wayne Kearney, Gilles de Rais, Randy Steven Kraft, Michael Swango, Andrei Chikatilo, David D. Hill, Wayne Williams, Larry Eyler, Henry Lee Lucas, Fritz Haarmann, and dozens more. It is not clear why Dahmer became associated with homosexuality in the public consciousness more than many other serial killers, including many whose victims outnumbered Dahmer's. This may simply have occurred because homosexuality was a more widely-discussed topic in public media at the time of Dahmer's arrest. Certainly most homosexuals are law-abiding individuals, and Dahmer's sexual identity was not a direct cause of his violent behavior.

Although there was much disagreement among expert witnesses and psychologists who testified in Dahmer's trial, there seemed to be a general consensus that Dahmer harbored some type of hatred toward homosexuals. Although there was clearly a sexual component to his killing, as his victims were generally his sexual partners as well as his murder victims, experts generally agreed that Dahmer had control over his actions and that his murders were not purely a result of sexual compulsion or aberrant sexuality. Some people have speculated that Dahmer's Biblical religious background may have contributed to a negative view of homosexuals, which in turn contributed to a negative self-image and a hatred of himself and other homosexuals, which in turn led him to become a serial killer. Whether or not this is what happened is unclear. One problem with this theory is the minimal exposure Dahmer had to organized religion during most of his life. Another theory (also far from certain) holds that Dahmer felt rage toward the gay community for their lack of acceptance of him. Far more likely than either of these theories is the notion that the reasons Dahmer became a serial killer are essentially the same reasons that have caused other people to become serial killers.

Exactly! Not like he really knew that much about that church at at that young age.

Well, I'm just guessing he was a Christian. The "Church of Christ" does not necessarily mean it's a Christian organization. The term "Christ" was used for religious and non-religious reasons hundreds of years before Christianity. That's why I said for him to make up his own mind and come up with his opinion. My opinion is no better than his and vice versa.

I don't even get why you bother with these arguments. Strongly religious and logic rarely go together so it's really a pointless discussion most of the time. Just sitting back and reading some of the responses, most don't even make any sense but in people's mind they really believe it. lol. You'll never win that battle. Churches have been crooked since forever but folk will still sit in there like fools. Look at Jim Junes, and the vast majority of his followers were BLACK, which is no surprise. Look at Creflo Dollar, Look at Eddie Long. Look at Jimmy Swaggart lol. People want something to believe in so bad that they will legitimize ANYTHING to make it logical.

They say "A fool and his money are soon parted", can't say the same for A fool and his religion.
