As for JSU, I already know that the players want to win, but the coach must have the gas to pure on their fire in order to blow things up. We still don't know if he can do it. We have to see.

After a 5-7 season, JSU can be considered dark horse. I personally think they are going to compete for the East title, but wonder if the entire chemistry is on the sidelines. The talent is there to win 8 or 9 games this season. To be honest, the talent is there play tough vs Middle Tennessee State. If Coach Black was still at JSU, there would be no doubt that JSU would give MTSU hell in the trenches.

Idk why I'm telling you but we went 5-7 with more problems than just line trouble and new systems. Chemistry wasn't that great defensively, Burroughs was cocky and not respected by the boys. Probably because all he did was yell and get frustrated when really he was in over his head at this level. Jav was playing with broken wrists last year and only got 108 tkl, 18 tfl at LB (or DB in Burroughs scheme ). Then tre playing with a torn shoulder but we had no choice, they had to play because no depth. Then, our S&C coach was lazy. He only worked out 6-7 guys because they had the most "nfl potential " SO?! THAT'S not your job!!!! So we were poorly conditioned which further damaged the line play. We were soft on both lines. Su and Alcorn killed em.

We got Scott (S&C) back and he has been killing IMO. He got Jav up to 249 from 225 last year.

It's no joke. And as far Alcorn Hibbs is no hell of a QB even Kias said that indirectly . He was saying he wanted more of a balance QB and Gibbs does not pass well. Stats dnt mean the player is a blue chip. Stats are based off what type of system there in. You can have a QB like IVY who does not read defense well, whom telegraphs his WR, over throws quit a few WR and has a slow release and he still can put up a lot of yards because he's in a Run N Shoot style offense.

Black was not the OL coach during Jimmy's nor Trey years and was easily the BEST coach on Comegy's staff. You a lil hard on Ivy huh lol

09-13-2012 Valley BEAT su 6-0; stomped Grambling 45-21; whipped Alcorn 33-9 guess what Valley Lost 14-7 to JSU that year!

You can't have it both ways to try and make your point. How can you talk about a team losing to Valley when your team lost to them as well?


Doesn't matter what year, both losses were in the past. It's a new season where anything can happen

Interesting stuff.

JSU has everything they need to win the East. But the big question is, does JSU have the coaching staff to get it done. Y'all might not like this, but I can almost guarantee that if Comegy and his staff were at JSU with this year's team, Boxtorow and every other rankings would pick JSU to win the East. And for good reason. Now, the ball is in the old man's corner.

Aside from JSU, UABP's coaching staff put together a recruiting class that was brought in to fill in some defensive blanks.The Lions signed 20+defensive players to come in and compete right away. They are my second dark horse.

Yeah, they WOULD pick us to win. We have TEAM! but we would be doubting ole Comegy. Unless he replaced McCall as his OC we were in trouble... and we already know Hayes was never gonna change his defensive philosophy no matter how many games it cost us. I have way more trust in OMJ, Chang, and Lee than I would have in Comegy, McCall and Hayes.

Whoa......... TP! Those are some strong words bruh. That man took y'all some places y'all hadn't been in years dude. Comegy is going to mess around and tell Mississippi Valley's band to play "Y'all musta forgot" by Roy Jones when y'all enter Itta Bena. Lol.

I hope you are sure about that statement and aren't going off SWAC title game emotions.
