pvdt, you're an astutely intelligent man. Surely you wouldn't have an advanced type conversation w/ a 1st grader regarding Mr Gibbs and his documented accomplishments at the national level. I strongly suggest you treat that particular poster as you would a fanatical 1st grader. They both possess the same elementary level of understanding lol.
 



Gibbs is not a good QB.. ya'll reading a stat sheet. They boy can run! but that ain't what it takes to be a QB. You don't want the game to be on the line and have to depend on him...

I know some of you all think that Alcorn win was a fluke but you will learn soon enough that it was not. Alcorn couldn't stop us. Alcorn took the lead before the half and what we did we do? Went right down the field and took the lead back. Alcorn took control of the game when Ivy went out. They scored 14 points.. THEN Ivy came back in and we scored our own 14... LOL

Again, take us lightly if you want. I am here talking to facts. You all NEVER talk any football.. only rhetoric. You all are here yapping about nothing.. and have your hopes in a cheating coach that put knives to players throats and have 2 AM practice.. LOL It's ok tho...

Wow. Didn't know about knives stuff.

However, the man wins and knows how to build a competitive program.

As for JSU, I already know that the players want to win, but the coach must have the gas to pure on their fire in order to blow things up. We still don't know if he can do it. We have to see.

After a 5-7 season, JSU can be considered dark horse. I personally think they are going to compete for the East title, but wonder if the entire chemistry is on the sidelines. The talent is there to win 8 or 9 games this season. To be honest, the talent is there play tough vs Middle Tennessee State. If Coach Black was still at JSU, there would be no doubt that JSU would give MTSU hell in the trenches.

Our oline is in good hands. Coach Aycock will have them ready AND he has about 15 bodies to work with. We barely had enough for a first string last year. We taking it back to the old school. Granted, we didn't have the bodies we needed because Comegy didn't leave us many olinemen BUT that was also because our AD didn't fully support him and took some scholarships. That's not the case right now.

Im so glad that the swac decided in 1999 to develop a conference championship. I know what i know is true but mark my words j state yall will pay for avoiding us i promise u that. I wonder whats our winning percentage is against j state in sports championships? Like i said for your cowardly past yall will reap what u sow im done. O yea j state it will b three in a row after Sept. 19.

What makes you think the team is in the wrong hands? What if JSU gets to Houston, will it be in the wrong hands then? Comegy took a team that went to the SCG in 2007 and 2008 and went 3-7 in 2009 with his SAME coaching staff and most of the same players and players who were in that system for a while. So for Jackson to assemble a new staff and do what he did was a good job especially how he kept the guys motivated and chanced our fortunes by the end of the season. Yeah, we lost to Valley but that was before the old man revamped the team strategy. Valley gonna be whoooped bad just like your team!

You said we didn't have any ammo but beating the eventual SWAC champions was better than losing to them.
Besides, we had a first year head coach, first year offensive coordinator, first year sorry defensive coordinator, first full year QB and a system on both sides of the ball no one was familiar with.
On top of that, our head coach was hired only a couple months before SWAC Media Day. Thatls no where near the time to implement a system.
It's kind of a miracle that the team won as many games as it did when one looks at the totality of what it had to face in such a short period of time.

Please explain how su went THIRTY years without winning ONE outright SWAC title after JSU and Grambling JUST HAPPENED to join the SWAC. Please explain.

Same reason y j state avoided Southern for almost thirty years after we killed yall 98-0. Plus if yall would have played us after that beaten from 1930- 1957 yall wouldnt have those little championships yall have today. Y yall wouldnt have because it would have hurt yall into recruiting athletes to coming to your program. Plus yall also avoided PV back then too.

Dude, once again you have zero facts to support one word of your statement. You have no idea what kind of teams JSU had during those years. Nobody even has stats of some fictitious 98-0 win.
What we do know is when JSU (and Grambling) did enter the SWAC, it was the deathnail for su's football dominance. The new boys on the block took over instantly for the next three decades.
What we DO know is that when JSU and Grambling entered the SWAC, su could not win ONE outright title, plain and simple for THIRTY whole years. Those are pure facts you can run from but you sure can't hide from.

umm yall lost to Valley 1st in 2013 28-6 and The rest of the SWAC lost to Valley in 2012 since yall like living off the past, they beat Yall before they beat us on a down year!

We also had a lame duck coaching staff in 2013 too. We're talking about 2014, stay on task.

Great response. The Tigers will do fine this season. Everybody that's speaking negative about the team are people who don't know the full story. On top of 5-7 is damn good for a entire neW system. I heard someone mention coach black. What the hell ? We had oline problems even during some of Comegy years. I remember Jimmy Oliver running all over the field , they were taking Rutland ass out to so let's not speak such highly of coach black. And for JSU there rouster is one for the years my friend. It's no joke. And as far Alcorn Hibbs is no hell of a QB even Kias said that indirectly . He was saying he wanted more of a balance QB and Gibbs does not pass well. Stats dnt mean the player is a blue chip. Stats are based off what type of system there in. You can have a QB like IVY who does not read defense well, whom telegraphs his WR, over throws quit a few WR and has a slow release and he still can put up a lot of yards because he's in a Run N Shoot style offense.
