Why are you over here *****ing and moaning about JSU circumventing the system. SU and GSU have been playing in the BC for years now for their own good without regard to the rest of the SWAC. The date of that game and the Turkey Day Classic nullifies the SWACs chance to have an automatic bid to the playoffs.

Get Ready is sure if He brought that up, you would probably answer by saying:
its tradition
we cant get the game on another day
we are not interested in the playoffs
and on and on....

So to hell with the rest of the SWAC and what is beneficial to us all. But now, you want to pout about JSU making an ass out of the SWAC office by conflict scheduling and getting a game more beneficial to us.....which is something we wanted to do anyway.

So Get Ready will concede that JSU is wrong and is looking out for itself, if you concede the same about the BC.

I won't even jump in this!!! I'm just gonna hush... :shh:

unless it gets too good!!

waiting on bluedog (aka Mike #2) to make an ass out of himself :smug2:

??? no BLUDOGyet.

(Still pouring through mountains and mountains of stat's to show how playing the BC on this date is good for the SWAC, but us playing 8 SWAC games is the end- :headphone :swink: all.)

Now Get Ready you know thats not true especially since it was Get Readys team to last go to the playoffs and the reason that the swac hasn't attended the playoffs before it was mandate that we not particpate is because we simply wasn't good enough.

Get Ready is missing the point, I'm not *****ing about it just giving food for thought.

Get Ready disappoint me because Get Ready knows this has nothing to do with the swac mandated games and Get Ready also knows that there are other swac games that goes on doing that holiday week.

So Get Ready will concede that JSU is wrong and is looking out for itself, if you concede the same about the BC.
The topic wasn't meant to get GetReady to concede.Get Ready already have conceded that fact because Get Ready is like bluedog, love him or hate him he shoots straight from the hip.

Now he does have a good point Bluedog.

Since when did having a good point mean anything to BLU if that point go against SU. :goodbad:

He won't answer it straight. :swink:

C- half louisiana how can you have a point when it isn't so or doesn't has anything to do with the original topic ?

Jackson State has literally carried the SWAC on its back for the better part of 25 years. We should have left a long time ago, but we didnt. We decided to stay in this god awful conference because it was the right thing to do and this conference would certainly have folded at the time and probably even now with us.

Now that we have gotten smart and begun to look out for ourselves for a change, somebody thinks WE should be fined. Man please....Get Ready wishes somebody would call JSU talking about a fine. Man please.

I think TXSU & JSU should pay hefty fines for their insurrection. These infidels should pay monetary compensation for their transgressions. At the end of the day I applaud both programs. Someone has to step up and be deviant regardless of the price. Even Dr. King went to jail for his convictions. These two programs with their defacto conference schedule must pay the price whether they are right or wrong.

Whats the number? Oh nevermind.

The point is you understands fully where I'm coming from and to say that the BC had anything to do with why the swac decided to stop sending teams to the playoff is disingenuous. Especially when you know full well the real reason was the swac record or more precise JSU's record.

Athletics Dept. Phone:...(601) 979-2291
? ? HISTORY ? ?
First year of football:... 1913
All-time record: ......... 375-193-13 (since 1946)
All-time bowl/playoff record: ...... 0-12
Years in post season play: ....... (Div. I-AA Playoffs)
Last postseason appearance: ........ 1997
Result: .......Lost, 31-24 to Western Illinois

Isht if thats carriying the swac by yourself than no wonder we haven't gone to far.Seems like your still the one making themselve out an @ss little teepee.

Thats my point exactly!

I will say it again, AAMU benefits from the BC and the SCG is also promoted on national TV during the live telecast. It is not just a SU/GSU thing. When we had the Jones and Doug matchup for the SCG it was talked about the entire live telecast.

The SWAC is just like any conference in America and that is having only 4 to 5 good teams.

GR

I am LMAO @ the SWAC office. If the SWAC even thinks about fining JSU, We should jump ship immediately for somewhere else. Back When Conference USA was founded and they Invited us, did we bail out on the SWAC? No. did we try to make a bunch of demands on the SWAC? They are our Brothers. It cannot be overstated how JSU carried the SWAC for over 20 years with no help from anywhere else. Now they want to fine JSU? This would be worse than the Soccer people sitting Freddie Adu for the first 3 quarters of the game.

One more thing GR, You gotta remember that this is the same group of people that called it "Sharecropping" when we wanted them to move the JSU/SU game from 6:30 to 3:30, so it could be on ABC. ABC. Not MBC or some other two-bit outfit, but ABC. They schedule Benny College and Allen, but we should get fined for playing a classic in Orlando.. This is simply more southernese thinking at work.

LOL at JROCK,

Somebody call the Cops, These ingrates at JSU and TX SO. are acting up.

Bad boys ... Bad boys ... What you gone do? ... What you gone do, when the SWAC comes for you?

GR,

There is a slight crediability gap with the JSU football program. Until you get your self- respect back, no one will listen to JSU. Don't make the SWAC Office mad. I know we tease SUcks about their schedule. Didn't Bell learn anything from Pete? After your last season you are suppose to schedule easier games instead of harder games. For example, Southern talks about needing home games but part of the reason Southern didn't schedule FAMU this season was because Pete realized they still have some of that D1 talent hanging around (from their D1 misadventure). c**n Ball or not, JSU and Bell needs W's now, any way they can get them. Of course GSU as usual won't be one, but ask Bell if he would rather have played TEX So. (with a new coach) or Hampton. GSU and SU in the Bayou Classic bring more pluses to the conference than negatives. Worry about one thing first, then maybe you ingrates can dare challenge GSU, SU and the SWAC Office. In the words of the old Oakland Raiders, there is only one thing that will solve JSU's problems ...

Two problems with that fantasy 1) Its just a plain ole fashion lie because Famu call SU to play but wanted them to to come to tally 2)The Ncaa told Famu that the D-IAA transfer weren't eligible to play this year and they transferred out..um guess who got one.

carry on...........

JUST WIN BABY !!!

bluedog,

I'm talking about the number of scholarship atheletes FAMU was able to recruit while they were going 1A. Not the 1A tranfers who found out later last year that FAMU had dropped the ball on their 1A application and that they were ineligeble to play last season. Many of those guys tranfered, but because they were going 1A, Famu got to recruit more scholarship players. Pete and your AD talked about it on one of your Saturday morning talk shows. I guess you meant 1A rather than 1AA transfers ???. If your FAMU transfer were 1AA, he wouldn't be able to play at Southern without setting out. MY point to GR was that as PETE successfuly proved, coaches sometimes have to schedule smart for their own survival rather than looking for a bigger payday. Compare your record now as to when you had the Too Lames and Northwesterns and Nicholls on you schedule.

Um Thames I think you need to ask somebody about what happen to those scholarships player when the allotment drops from 80 to 63, I think thats the same number that everyone else is allowed. And if you are even remotely suggesting that they are (by some miracle) all bluechippers.....don't.

Dude that lie has been told so much that ya'll actually believe it, Blacknbengal lied on one thread that Pete went 3-9, 2-10, 4-8.

Blacknbengal said:
Blue, we went 2-10 with a competitive schedule and now look at our schedule. When you all went what? 3-9, 2-10, 4-8; Pete ran and scheduled Allen and Lincoln and its been all down hill since for as playing a competitive non-schedule.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
93 10-1
94 6-5
95 10-1
96 7-4
97 10-1
98 8-3
99 11-1
00 6-5

01 7-4
02 6-6
03 6-6

Purple= Yrs played NWST
Green= Yrs played TU
Purple/Green= Yrs played both

Now seems like that lie..err theory has been expose for what it is since the record shows that Pete was over 500 for 82% of those years, plus he never had a losing season.

Mighty Dog, last year we might have had 1 team was that would be considered good. Two max. I don't know where you get 4 or 5 from.

If Hughes had gone 9-2 by playing JC Smith and Miles instead of NCAT and USM, it would have still been a 7-4 season to me.
