I think it's good you had a great role model. I think men and women need this.

Yeah man, career driven women are hard to get along with sometimes. They can't seem to understand relationship roles vs. business roles.

I think it is go back to overall personality traits. Some people, both male and female, can't turn it "on and off" because they either do not know how to or do not wish to.

I used to get into it with a lot of Pre-Law types because they didn't seem to realize that everything was not a debate.

That's how my mother is as well. She has been in Corporate America for over 30 years, but she never tried to treat those of us at home like subordinates.

It is my belief that no matter how materially successful a women
Is, she still longs to hear this, feel this, and experience this.

?Baby I love you with all my heart, you are everything I could ever
dream of in a women, God has truly placed on my heart that you
are some one I could join with, & make Him smile & together we?ll
see tomorrow, and if you so agree I promise through the wisdom, &
Ordered steps of My father to guide you, and us to as much heaven on earth,
As you can stand?

But alas in that search, even some of the Smartest women

Make wrong choices
Settle
Or totally stop believing that exist

May we all find that resting place. :shame:

The sad part is most people can't turn it off. Then they wonder why it's hard to maintain a relationship.

If that is her natural personality, why should she turn it off? He should figure this out before saying I DO to her with ANYTHING.

True. I want a partner non an opponent. Let's be a team and do the damn thang.

What I hate most is when women get in their little groups and ask questions about men. Most men would prefer for you to come ask them. It gives me a sense of trust in the woman. Just ask and I will tell. The sad part is when it comes to personally, off the SWACPage I am blantely honest which gets me in to trouble because sometimes the truth hurts so much.

I think it's one thing that men love to hear, which is, "My man got that under control." Again it gives the man a sense of trust and responsibility. Men like things to be on their shoulders because by nature we are provider and problem solvers.

I think a preacher talked about this once.

That's not a natural personality. That's something you develop to survive.

We say "turn it off" like its easy. I think strong women are saying, don't tone me down and ask me to hold back, MEET ME and make me work harder WITH you. Dropping back is difficult but raising the bar keeps things fresh. Don't know what's coming so you are always working on it. Just my .02.

Its hard to have the kick butt attitutue at work and be the loving, often submissive, compassionate, understanding being that God wants us to be. We are attempting to duplicate what "White Corporate America" has said we should be to be successful. Somewhere first, We have got to let God Guide us all the way. God's Principles work both at home and in business but we have to shown "them" how. It took me a long time and I am still working at it and I thank God for providing a mate that has been really patient and understanding to put up with me. If it wasn't for Bible Study & Sunday School I would be without a mate.

Hmmm. Good question.

I like to be in control of how my career goes and the cleanliness of the house, but as far as bills & bedroom, I'd like for the man to take more initiative. This way, perhaps we could cut down on the bickering.

Last Wednesday on my way to the airport Michael Basiden show was about ?why is it that most black women can be so successful in corporate America, but they fail at an alarming rate when it comes to their personal relationship?? Black women seem to manage multi million dollar companies and programs and lead their staff in remarkable direction, yet when dealing with male counter parts they fall apart? What?s your take on this? Many people called in and said it amazed them how they can be so strong in the work place against men, but when dealing with them in relationships men run all over them.

I don't know, but you will be amazed at the number of attractive, but divorced professional women with kids I been running into lately. :shame:

That's what I say. But hey, they gotta do what works for them.

An aside: I find that in the long run, if you got yourself and GOD, nothing else matters. It will all work together.

I don't want our relationship to be treated the way you treat your job. Work is not fun... I want a fun relationship.

It has nothing to do with turning it off, toning down, holding back, or making someone work harder. It is a simple let's do this together and accept each other as is. See to me it's about accepting a person. If you are 100% sure about yourself then there is nothing that you will seek to change in someone.

Equally yoked is a magical thing that most men and women do not understand. We look at what a person has, how they look, basically searching for the negatives instead of trully enjoying the positives. The issue is knowing who you are and not have expectancies of a person. What is so forgotten in relationships is the word fun. People are acting more than living.

Also, don't start nothing you can't continue. Women, if you give that man oral sex, and being a freak all day and night. Don't stop. Men if you buying flowers don't stop. It's starts from the beginning. Also, stop running the house like it's you job. I don't love the people on my job. I work to aide those I love and that's where confusion begins.

The funny thing is we got all these people who can qoute scriptures but no one had focused on this. Interesting.
