Black Missouri Football Players Boycotting Until School President Resigns

Sounds like another "Black and Gold", Muscle Milk boycott? This isn't the 1960's life isn't about boycotts, its about standing your ground and voicing your concerns in a diplomatic manner! You don't just quit. All my life I had to fight, but I never quit!
Boycotting is a form of diplomacy and it can be very effective if done properly.
The kids could've gotten rowdy and torn up the place but they didn't. They organized themselves and made a decent request to be heard. They weren't heard, so now they're taking the next step, which is their right to do.
In all actuality, they're taking a risk, not only for themselves but for the welfare of those who come after them.

The protests at the campus began after the student government president, who is black, said in September that people in a passing pickup truck shouted racial slurs at him. Days before the homecoming parade, members of a black student organization said slurs were hurled at them by an apparently drunken white student.

Also, a swastika drawn in feces was found recently in a dormitory bathroom.

Butler, who participated in the homecoming parade protest, began his hunger strike on Nov. 2 to call attention to racial problems at the state's flagship university.

Many of the protests have been led by an organization called Concerned Student 1950, which gets its name from the year the university accepted its first black student. Its members besieged Wolfe's car at homecoming last month, and they have been conducting a sit-in on a campus plaza since last Monday.

The President is clueless and based on his latest statement; he is using code words like "a safe place". He is letting you know that he feels scared by those "blacks" and I guess "Jews" since they are now under attack. It’s too bad some white athletes have not join the cause, but we have not progressed enough in the country for this to happen.

I am praying for Jonathan Butler who is willing to die for the cause. GOD give him strength.

What more can we expect from a person who says dark skin people are evil, and it was okay for for Eddie Long to seek out sexual relations with gay men because his wife wasn't having sex with him. Brilliant you are!!!!

This may sound cruel but somebody need to say it. If you have to have a Black fraternity , sorority or any other separate entity on campus so you can have a resemblance of a normal college life.

Then maybe you aren't welcome. I'm just saying

Strange how at HBCU'S you don't have Asian , Latino, are white separate entities because they are force to separate. But yet HBCU'S are the ones considered to be backwards . Go figure

Well, for what it is worth, there are Latino and Asian groups at PWIs as well. It's not just black folk.

Yeah, I kinda agree with what you're saying. I understand why but at the same time........if you gotta do that, maybe you shouldn't be there.

#Respect to the Young man that went on the hunger strike and to the athletes who participated that were on the football team.
