Do you go to the beach? I have been down in the pan handle off and on for the last three months, and I have noticed that you only see a small number of of us on the beach at any given time. I'm trying to figure out is it that black folk just don't like the beach, or it just ain't no black folks in this area. Yall help me out. I mean it's cool seeing other ethnic groups nice looking women on the beach, but ain't nothing like seeing some sistas on the beach. If you know what I mean. :ebrow:

I think it is regional. We used to go to the beach a lot when I was growing up, but since there were several beaches nearby it was practically a given. Here in ATL, you have to travel a few hours just to get to a beach. I think attributes to seeing less of us there since you basically have to make a trip out of it.

As you know, seeing some sistas at the beach is a beautiful thing

I went to Rehobeth beach in Delaware for Memorial day weekend. I actually like going to the beach. I just don't like to venture out into the water. I have a phobeia of shark:-)! I will get in the water and swim but will not go out too far.

Wow......I just had this conversation 30 minutes ago with a black guy who lives in Milton, FL (on the panhandle).

Go to South Beach (Miami) and you'll see plenty of black folks. But they arent' there for family fun. I've been in Key West all this week....first of all there aren't many black people here and secondly, you won't see them on the beach. I went to Smathers Beach (one of the best beaches in FL) and I was the only AA out there. I mean the only one! But I've noticed that most black people in FL aren't beach-goers.

Oh and CEE, there are plenty of Black folks on the panhandle. What I got from the conversation with ole boy is that most Blacks will go to the beach to fish and not much else.

True, I saw a lot of sisters on the Beach in the Bahamas. Man they were looking nice.

Dude I love the beach....especially the Emearld Coast of northwest Florida to Orange Beach. told the wife that's where we're going to retire..a bunch of great courses down there also..that's a big plus

Just came from visiting Sister in Destin, Fl over the weekend and Memorial Day weekend.

She goes to the beach all the time with her family!

I love the sun...as long as I'm just laying in it and not having to walk in it. LOL

The beaches here SUCK and they are entirely too crowded!!

Itz not rocket science, itz a known fact that black folks just don't like water...we don't get off on that schit. Different strokes for different folks.

Everytime I'm @ the beach in Florida, I see beautiful black women
lookin' like something out of a dream. Then when I start talkin' to them I
realize, they ain't black!!!

They're always from some Latin American country, which makes them less
apprehensive, then the normal black woman.

You gotta remember most sistas ain't tryin' to get their hair wet
Lots have a fear of water and don't like the sun.

But hey I play the Cuban role & always have tons of fun

Whenever I visit my cuz in FL, that's what I'm always asking...where are da black folks???

Me personally, I love the beach, I love the water (serene) (maybe because I don't see one everyday). Could it be, it gets old if you live it 24/7? :noidea:

What FL beaches do you go to? Unless it's South Beach or Daytona I hardly ever see Black people. I've never been to the Panhandle Beaches, but from what I've been told, you don't see a lot of Blacks out there either unless it's some kind of event going on.

When I go to Cocoa Beach (Melbourne), Flagler (J'ville), Smathers (Key West) and other beaches along The Peninsula, the only black women I see is my wife and the women who work there.....handing out towels and pickin' up trash and stuff.

Havent been in awhile.. But I shole love me some Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Ala.

Times we went... Not too many Blacks neither:noidea:

What FL beaches do you go to?

keep reading my post.

They start out looking black to me.

BUT

When I talk to them I find out they are not Black.

Only place I've seen lots of black chicks near water

is @ Black Beach Week or kappa Beach Party, or Black folks @ the Beach Day.

There are lots of other beaches along the WEST coast of Florida:
 • Cedar Key
 • Caladesi Island
 • Clearwater Beach
 • St. Pete Beach
 • Fort DeSoto
 • Madiera Beach
 • Siesta
 • Longboat Key
 • Naples
 • Egmont Key
 • Marco Island
 • Bradenton
 • Palmetto
 • Dunedin
 • Boca Ciega Bay
 • and the list goes on.

With the exception of Marco Island, PLENTY OF BLACK FOLKS!!!

What perplexes me is when a "sistah" lol sez she's going to the beach w/ you and she's putting on all sorts of warpaint (makeup lol) and doing stupid shit w/ her hur like she's going there for a photo op. :retard: I've been around that a few more times than I care to elaborate and STILL don't see the sensibility in it. Maybe sensibility has too much sense, or lack of. :emlaugh:

I digress. :D

I use to go, when I was in Alabama. The beaches in New Jersey and Delaware suck when I compare them to the beaches I use to go to (Alabama to Panama City Fla). Additionally the water is VERY COLD here until August.

I used to go to the beach in the 90’s to watch the guys, but now most guys wear swim trunks that come down to their knees, there is no reason for me to go to the beach now.

Man Rehobeth beach in Delaware is cold during this time of year. The beach is nice though.
