Who do you think would be the biggest player bust in NFL history? The player who came in with a lot of hype and never could cut the mustard.
My choices would be: Tony Manderich,Brian Bosworth,Andre Ware,Archie Griffin,Akili Smith. These are just a few. Who would you choose?

My guess would be Rashann Salaam (SP) when he was drafted by the Bears.

Gino Toretti, most Notre Dame Qb's (other than Joe Montana), Ty Detmer, any Florida QB, LSU RB Charles Alexander, ...

it's actually Gino Toretta, don't forget Steve Walsh, Blair Thomas, Courtney Brown (Penn St. guy drafted 1 or 2 by Cleveland), any Florida WR, Rick Mirer, RYAN F'N LEAF, David Klingler, anyone drafted from LSU who didn't play O- or D-line, Ron Dayne, Jeff George (he's been recycled more than the daily newspaper, Tim Couch, Todd Marinovich, Tim Biakabutuka, Thomas Jones (RB), Leeland McElroy, Vaughn Dunbar, Aundray Bruce, Todd Helton (lol...he was Peyton Manning's predecessor as Tennessee's QB..wonder what he's doing now..lol :flippy: ) Heath Shuler, any Seminoles QB...i can't think of any others...

What ever happened to Christian Okoeye(sp) the Nigerian Express that played for the Chiefs back in the mid 90's??

Journ, he was some what of a dawg in KC...I thought this dude was going to bring new meaning to brusing fullbacks...Sort of like Tom Rathman and Mike Alstott...

I wouldn't call Toretta or any of the Florida QBs busts cause they weren't expected to do anything. All of them, except Rex Grossman, were late round picks or undrafted. And how can Todd Helton be on the list? Baseball was his main sport and he's an all-star there.

For Real Busts, my list would include:

Rashard Anderson(i wasn't expecting much out of him though)
Ryan Leaf
Cade McNown
Akili Smith
Blair Thomas
Tony Mandarich

Jax...he was a beast of some sorts...it was him and Barry Word straight hoggin' with KC... I just remember that damned Monday Night game when Denver was playin the Chiefs ..and Atwater met Okoye in that hole...it was the end of an era :bump:

Speaking of the old school chiefs..what ever happened to Barry Word???

other busts include Desmond Howard, who was nothing but an overpriced Brian Mitchell..

another bust question...How in the heck did Rashard Anderson go from a 1st round pick to never heard from again? I know Cat Morris, unfortunately, been injured, but what happened to Anderson?Can anyone from J-state or wherever help me out on that one??

I was joking about Todd Helton JSU...not too many people remember him as a QB for the Vols though...


now come to think of it... speaking of Penn St...how about Bobby Engram as a bust and Tony Sacca.

Rashard Anderson is not playing in the NFL due to the fact that he violated the league's drug and alcohol policy. When he went up for reinstatement in '03, he was denied because he had failed a random drug test. As for '04, I don't think he was reinstated. He was last seen working on campus at J-State. What the future holds, no one knows but him.
 



Lawrence Phillips (that dude had soooooooo......... much talent. I remember seeing him destroy folks defenses at Nebraska)

James Johnson (Miss. St. running back that was bad as hell in college, but I don't know what happened to him in Miami)

David LaFleur TE LSU folks was talking about him like he was the next coming of Jay Novacek, ***** please!!!!!!!!!

Mines would be Kijana Carter, Rick Mirer, Desmond Howard, Gino Torettei (sp), Danny Wuerfull (sp), Charlie Ward, Palmer (QB for Florida)......that's it for now.

I cant really say Brian Bozworth was a bust, cause ole boy was doing his thang till he ran across Bo "knows football" on one sunny Sunday evening.

Big Bust....add Dan "Big Daddy" Wilkerson and Wadsworth (DE Florida State) to this list.

Rashard went up for reinstatment in the NFL. I heard to got he has been reinstated July 1st.
