I didn't get to do that, but I remember the upper-classmen told us after we got our uniform "dont wear them until the 2nd game." That same night, in Jones Hall, room 510c there came a rap-a-tap-tap at the door...... My roommate(cb) opens the door and just like that, we were busted..... Cuaght with our uniforms on AND both of us had a blunt fired up, with another one behind our ear...... Needless to say there was a lil' bit of this::smash: , and some of this::slap: !

Yall were dumb crabs! We opened the door for no one. If you didn't call ahead you didn't even get into the suite. No games, crabs were coming up missing. It was a dangerous time, felt like I was at war. Secret knocks and passwords were the only way to navigate Jones hall.

Same here.... The way it was supposed to go is you gotta do "the knock" before you could get into the suite.... So if you knockin on my room door, you supposed to be allowed in..... Some how, there was a security breech!!!!! Oh, folks was coming up missing in 2004 too! I ALMOST was one of those people, but I out-ran the WHOLE ENTIRE FUNK FACTORY from the bridge to Jones Hall.

SU vs JSU 2001
Doc comes on the bus. (fixin his white gloves)"Band, Jackson is not comin with their whole band due to the rain. Woodwinds, saxes, yall stay on. A few horns and part of the drum section." Doc leaves the bus only to see Jackson's whole band lining up. Doc comes back on the bus. (wit his two fingers in his mouth doin his whistle)"EVERYBODY OFF THE BUS!!!!!!"

SU vs. Alcorn 1994...

Steve "Air" McNair versus Eric Randall

This game was so big and because Steve McNair was a Heisman candidate, it was shown on ESPN...thus making the mark of the Human Jukebox's version of ESPN to enter all other HBCU bands music books.

Well, I don't know how it is now, but in 94 there was a two-lane highway leading from Hwy. 61 to the stadium. Game time was for 1pm and we left baton rouge about 8 that morning for the 2 and a half hour ride to Alcorn.

TRAFFIC...TRAFFIC...TRAFFIC...about 1:15 we were stuck in traffic still and we passed a sign that said Stadium 5 mi. Doc radioed to each bus and told everyone to get dressed...then a rumor went around that Doc was deciding to make us walk the 5 miles to get to the stadium because we could probably get there faster than the busses. Next thing you know 2 LA State troopers and 4 MS State troopers come up on the busses with lights flashing and sirens wailing...They escorted us and that 2 laned highway opened up like the Red Sea with everyone pulling over to the shoulders...we drive dayum near right up to the gate and if anyone knows Doc he gets antsy when the cameras are rolling.

We got off the bus and got lined up so quick, but by now it was the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Doc with his two fingaz and infamous whistle, said...Let's Go....Let's Go...as soon as we get into that stadium, let them know I'm here...WE Marched In coming around the field and as soon as the entire band got in the gates...the drummers called off the cadence where the entire band gets low and then proceeds to jump and kick...THE ENTIRE STADIUM WAS CHEERING AND ROCKING...and YELLING AAY OOH...and the best part about this story...THE GAME WAS STOPPED....until we marched in and made it to our seats...and did as Doc requested and let everyone know that he was there...

THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST BCF GAMES IVE SEEN:
(SU was ahead 37-34 until 10 secs left in the game and "AIR McNair" did his thing.)
On October 22, 1994, an overflow crowd of 26,500 fans saw Alcorn State?s Walter Payton Award winner, Steve ?Air II? McNair become the NCAA All-Time total offensive yardage leader on a 22-yard run against Southern University. In this game, he also set the Division I-AA single-game record of total offense with 649 yards. McNair finished his career with 16,823 total yards and a third place finish in the 1994 Heisman Trophy race. Steve McNair became the NCAA career leader in total offense and led Alcorn State from behind twice in the final four minutes as the Braves beat Southern University 41-37 Saturday.

McNair broke his own Division I-AA single-game record with 649 yards, including 587 yards passing and four touchdowns. He rushed for 62 yards in 14 carries. The lead changed four times in the final 5:58, the last on McNair's 1-yard touchdown run with 10 seconds left.

Dawg you know what it was!!! Crabbing was one of those things thats fun to look back on, wasn't fun at the time. Living with constant anxiety and fear, but the relief at the end made it worth the effort. Just like the Que Psi Phi, would not have wanted it any other way, would not do it again!

What you know about those famous Kennedy-St.Aug battles?

I was at the Kennedy/St.Aug game in 95 when it rained.... St.Aug played walking in the rain......Then they left and went in the whole out of the rain, while Kennedy lit up "Skin".....
