And to pick one out of that group as the best is really hard. But I would have to go with PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC.

EWF could be funky but never funk- even with Verdine doing his thing. It was and will be for the forseeable future a JAZZ band that sings.

How can you say that EWF wasn't funky??? Most of their cuts were loaded with heavy doses of rhythm guitar and electric piano..... Not to mention the 'wah-wah' box..... Now, they weren't considered a FUNK band, but they were FUNKY.......
That's why I put 'em at the bottom of the list, along with the SOS Band and Confunkshun......
