Best and Worst HBCU Uniforms

This much hate cannot be healthy...

I do like SU's all white uniforms. The white helmets  Always been a fan of Black Uniforms. I would like to see what SU would look like with Black Uniforms and our official colors.
PB's flat black helmets with black on black
Not sure what PV was doing with the camo unis.

I feel that camo unis should only be worn on military appreciation days or holidays...Other than that its ugly!

Bull...Orange and Green is an AWESOME combo LOL...I personally like our brand new all white uniforms

Black uni's

I didn't like the yellow jersey with the white pants and helmets. We should have worn the blue pants with matching jerseys. JMO

Just saw Southern's white helmets with white jerseys and blue pants...nice combo

Still not a fan of white helmets, but that particular combo is solid

I think the SWAC signed an extension til 2015 with Russell............They are horrible in terms of uniform options I will be glad when schools can hold their own in terms of uniform options thats why we are in this Russell deal now because some HBCU programs couldnt get the apropiate uniforms for their teams..And Russell provided a good deal...

Bama State white uniforms where the best in the SWAC last year IMO. I hope the new unis JSU will get this year matches those of ASU!

Ok. Thanks for the answer. I know our (TnState) are not the best, but just wondered why we were an Adidas school and most HBCUs I see were alll Russell.

TNState IMO is smart Adidas handles all of their uniform needs and their jerseys accessories are 10 times better than Russell...if they were to join an HBCU Conference Im pretty sure they would have to wear conform to the Russell Jersey and Nike Shoe deal...I cant wait for schools to go back to getting individual contracts!

Folks have to understand that Russell will design the uniforms how you want them if you provide input. SU did this. I think Grambling, Texas Southern, and PV do this.

Many schools just use the same stock designs and end up with what they get. Otherwise, name brands are the only difference. Tennessee State's Adidas uniforms are nothing but regular uniforms with an Adidas logo.

Its not the design but the fit and material...and you are right about the stock design but if you look at all the Russell designs everyone has almost the same style jersey no school has anything different except PV with camo and Alabama State new away unis thats it...

That's with any company, though. They will have their own characteristics in each design. One thing I do not like about Russell is that fabric, but when you touch it it isn't a bad feel. It just doesn't look like it feels good.

I agree. I know that Adidas outfits every sports program at TSU and was just curious why the difference.

These uni convos are the worst. Our schools should take pride in a particular uni and give kids something to look forward to play in. Alabama, LSU, OU, USC, Auburn, Texas, teams that usually compete for the national title, been wearing the same uni since forever. Effort put in them unis should be used on the field.

I agree.....it is difficult to brand when you constantly change.

THANK YOU!!!!!

As long as my boys are putting forth a solid honest effort on the field, and as long as they win, our uniforms could be dookie dinosaur green with 'UAPB' airbrushed in mustard brown across them for all I care! Who cares about the design, font, or that someone thinks they're "boring"!?! :|

Well lets see its only a few schools in here with staple logos Grambling G, SU logo and the Block JSU every one else in limbo with their brand so thats a mute point. IMO

Rob the schools you mention has million dollar facilities and National Titles (Not a Mythical Black Championship) so no they dont need to change unis when they have everything else up to date and beyond to attract kids...Our schools problem is we ONLY PLAY FOR THE SWAC TITLE point blank, every year we are ranked in the lower tier of FCS football, OOC across the conference sucks and most of our schools only recruit 1 and 2 star kids we may get lucky bring in a 3 star kid...So in order to attract the type of talent we all want, Uniforms and Facilities are needed...

Ask PV why they are wearing CAMO unis and how the players feel about it or look at Alabama State recruiting after they got their new stadium...Ask Queen Myers why she wants a dome stadium its not to stay in the SWAC she said that in the winter alumni meeting in 2011.

GA Southern North Dakota St and Appalachian state havent change unis at all in the FCS ranks but they also win on the field and have major upgrades as far as facilities.....why else do you see all these schools changing uniforms and having a million uniform combos. (Because kids like that stuff PRIME EXAMPLE OREGON)

SWAC will be behind for another long minute with u guys type of thinking. A change is needed to catch up with the rest of the football world and just saying "O we need to win on the field without the right changes wont cut it"...this isnt the 80's....
