Taking to survive is a natural instinct. Taking a TV is ignorance and folks who support it would never live in the ghetto where this happens. Move to those areas and live in those hoods then tell me you agree. Only then will I believe you.

Man stealing TVs might have helped them cope. IDGAF what they were stealing from stores during Katrina.

And robbing and jacking happen now anyway and will never stop.

Brother I have no self hate. I just tell the truth. I grew up around folks who have killed, will kill and have no heart. I just tell it like it is. Many of the people I know aren't doctors, lawyer's or engineers. They are hustler always on the come up. The bottom line is just like doing tax time and Christmas time these folks will come up. If checks are coming out in the hood they will get paid. I'm sorry if I think of the bigger picture of the black community that others with selfish motives don't think of, but it is what it is. The truth is many folks will act a fool and many would get killed over the dollars. The truth hurts but it is no denial on my part. Yes it would be a wonderful thing, but only if done correctly. Just giving folks hundreds of thousands of dollars would be trouble.

Now Cee, you know you and I are on the same page for the most part but your logic is the same reasoning "they" use for not making us whole. Don't let what might happen skew your thinking. There are irresponsible people in every race and there are no more in ours than in others. Don't short change me because of what another person MIGHT do.

Just giving folks a fixed amount of money will not solve anything. We'd have to determine who gets that money. I'm a descendant of slaves on both my mother and father's side. It's documented. I have two kids. So let's say I was given $250K...do my boys get $250K each also? When they have kids, will their kids get that money? A fixed dollar amount is the wrong approach. Too many questions to answer....Congress will drag that out so long, I'd be lucky if my great-grandkids got paid something.

Now if you can get 0% loans on homes and land.....if you can get a free education. If you can be exempt from Federal and State taxes. That can be set up easily and will have a much greater impact on the Black family. Imagine buying a home where 100% of your mortgage was going towards the principal. Do you know how fast you can build up equity? What if you had a Harvard education and not ONE student loan? What if you didn't have to pay taxes on your income? By the end of your lifetime, you would have made way more than $250K, and you could pass it down to your children.
