well your money is as good as gone. This hasnt been a good year for gram.

just being real....

All I am going to say as a REAL old head Jukeboxer. I haven't seen or heard the Jukebox sound this good in a long time. They are flat bringing it this year. Even us old heads from the 80s were like  when we saw them this year. They play with power, balance, control, and seem to have that killer instinct this year. I hear TxSU is like that this as well. Too bad that battle couldn't happen.

No disrespect to the World-famed. If they are not remarkably improved since last season, this might be ugly. Remember the black man is going to let them flat out clown on his last go round at the BC.

Don't count GSpoo out from their performance at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas they normally get stronger later in the season !

That would have been the battle of the year. I hate it didn't happen but then again Scholarships are top priority. Who knows maybe the "1969 twins" will be at Honda :shh:

I disagree...In my opinion grambling's performance at the Cotton Bowl is always better than what I see at the Bayou CLassic. But if this year they are getting stronger as the season progresses then more power to them.

Just worry about TSU on that Friday

Why???

the title of this thread is "Bayou Classic" is it not? All I said was that it hasnt been a good year for grambling. Weren't your own fans talking bad about your band after the AAMU game? The CottonBowl game was another spectacle...I'm just calling it like I see it. Nothing Grambling has done so far says that they will get southern. Sorry if thats not the answer you're looking for.

I agree although Gram has improved and they have a decent book. SU will get them.

I should have been more specific, I meant that they are usually stronger in the stands lated in the year. Or it could be that they sound better in the Superdome than they sound in the Cotton Bowl

:read: Hmmm,....

Well,...they got two week of preparation time.
They got more than enough resources and know how to beat Southern.
You got to use those weeks pushing it all the way.
I mean you got to work for perfection and not just go through the motions.
You gotta work!!!
I wish they could mentally and physically prepare themselves for an all out war. I'm no fool,...Southern is no joke but,...they can be beaten.
It all depends on what band shows up for the classic.
At this point,...it's up to them now.
In any case, I will be entertained regardless.
Break a leg to both bands this year.
My sincere best wishes goes out to Legendary Band Leader Dr. Isaac Greggs.
I along with a great many appreciate his dedicated service.

It been a change in the decade for the Grambling band. For the past few years, the battle of the bands has been up for grabs. Grambling will, for the first time, have the home crowd advantage. That should be a plus for them. I have heard both bands, and I can tell you that Grambling has the lower brass power out of the two. SU trumpets will be the jukebox back-bone. They, (SU T-Pets),are a beast this year. It will be a great battle.

:wavey:
Who WON the BOTB?

I was there from the begining of the step show. Real talk, I have to give the W to GSU. I have never heard them bring it like they did. Not only did they have a better selection, but their low brass was showin their arses. I will have to admit that SU's trumpets ate up GSU's. :slap:

So you're saying that Grambling's Band Director looked into the audience at the BOTB and told his band, "This crowd really wants to hear Billy Ocean's "Caribbean Queen." :xeye: Then, actually played it.

"Cocaine is a hell of drug!"

Just getting back from Houston not too long ago.

Botb - SU
Halftime - Don't really care too much for all the dancing that Gsu does, but outside of that, I enjoyed both shows though.

 to Gsu for the Jamaica cruise to Doc.

SU won the battle of the bands? Are you serious? A complete joke if I ever heard one in my life. Grambling won the battle of the bands hands down. The only thing that SU played that had my attention was I should have cheated. (I guess that was a tribute to Dr. Greggs, because thats exactly what he tried to do until the auditors caught him!) Southern's song slection was horrible in my opinion. Neck in a battle of the bands? You can hate me now in 2005? Grambling handled their business on friday. Big props to Prarie View earlier on friday. Lord had mercy on TSU in the stands. TSU won halftime easy!
