Bayou Classic VS Magic City Classic

The MCC is great for what it is. What is it? A rivalry game between two FCS Alabama HBCU's. Are titles usually on the line? Not really. Are both programs known for winning conference championshps? No. Is the economic impact on the same level? No. Is the game more popular than the BC? No.

The Bayou Classic is a black college event on the national stage. I would love to see ASU-AAMU battle it out on NBC or ABC. However, it has never happened.

Fans of the MEAC, SIAC and CIAA know that the Bayou Classic is "the most popular" HBCU football game. The 2013 New Orleans Bowl had bigger numbers than the Sugar Bowl. Did that mean the New Orleans Bowl was bigger? Hell no.

Being familiar with something vs caring about is comparing a banana to pomegranate. Anyone on this board who occupation keeps them on the road and meeting new people will agree that more people are familiar with the Bayou Classic than any other HBCU Classic Game. Stop trying so hard man. You sound crazy with this "living in the past" crap that you are accusing SU and GSU folks. For a city that still hasn't recovered after Katrina to continue to post staggering FCS&FBS numbers in attendance and economic impact is amazing. Although it's not on NBC right now, it's still being shown on their sports network along with several other FBS games.

If you want to continue to get off on being number 1 in attendance, then GSU/SU folks will just clap their hands and be happy for you. But when it comes to breaking out the red carpet, the Bayou Classic is second to none. It's going to take AAMU and ASU a very long streak of championships and SWAC dominance for the MCC to be the most popular classic in the new era of college football. Hell, nobody knows if y'all can dominate Tuskegee in the modern era. I doubt it.

Say bruh, Alabama football fans have been in denial for a while now. (No disrespect to the classy and fun to eat BBQ with AAMU fans.) Some of these folks really think that Alabama is "HBCU Football Greatness" and it's hysterical! Aren't they like 1-9 in SWAC Championship Games played on the field in Alabama? And some of those games have been convincing losses.

Are you really using Katrina as an excuse? That was over 11 years ago. There's no problem with filling up that venue when the Sugar Bowl is played there. You say I sound crazy talking about the past but you go ahead and follow that up with talking about Katrina. It was an unfortunate event but let's not act like that's the only reason why the MCC has grown to the top of the list of HBCU classics. The BC is played in a better venue but there are still more people that have attended the MCC even with bad weather. It's just time to sit down and be humble.

Ok. You can't compare the F'n Sugar Bowl to an in-state FCS rivalry. That's just ignorant. You ASU folks really have lost your minds up their. The Bayou Classic is more popular than the MCC. It's time for you to sit down and enjoy two big name HBCU football teams fight a SWAC Championship Ring.

You getting mad over there and spitting out false info, lol. Never mentioned the Super Bowl in my comment. However, I did mention the Sugar Bowl, which is played in New Orleans. They have no problem bringing fans to their game especially when it's usually both schools from different states but by your logic there's a problem for both in-state schools to do it 11 years after Katrina. People still come to the BC but it's not as many that come to the MCC and that's a fact. Settle down little guy and stop getting mad that you can't post facts on here.

I have posted facts. You have posted ignorance with your Katrina response and trying to insinuate that a game attendance number is bigger than national popularity. Enjoy the MCC and the great numbers it has. It's great for the conference and all of HBCU football. At the end of the day, the Bayou Classic is still more popular and is broadcast to a national audience.
