Juke. my oldest son is in mid school and he was watching the clips with me and said "dad is something wrong with their horns?" he then picked up his guitar and played 3 different chords and said the song would sound better if they put this chord here and so on. I was like son you are right.

Exactly.

Folks don't give the "S" enough credit. We actually like the comp. We actually would like other schools to earn their own keep when the "S" is pulling major weight on a weekly basis. The "S" can carry an event...but, not by choice, most of the time. The "S" like it's fish wet AND squirm'n....so, to say we would ever want lop-sided battles is ridiculous.

GSU does not sound good point blank. They sounded decent at the JSU-GSU game. I thought they were on to something, but no.

First, thanks to everyone that posted clips. I still haven't posted mines (smh)... nor have I posted my pixs.... Life is really not allowing me the time to stay on top of these things. For example, my main PC is in the shop right now after locking up and shutting down yesterday (smh)...
As for what I'm reading in this post in response to the post, it is amazing how far conversations about college music and bands have degradeto street-like or political-like rants. I recall the days when genuine props and critiques were common from one bandsmen or band alum to another. Now, as with politicians, you need only look to see who is posting and you automatically know who they will be very positive about and who they will be very negative about.
Oh well, I have heard that everything must change. This is just one that I hate changed as it did.

Y'all gotta understand where this man is coming from.... See, he is always on here defending the sound and arrangements, but little do y'all know, is he is actually a student arranger there a :vomit: *ramblin (Or so he claimed on another band website)... Don't know why he has never mentioned it on here, but THAT is why his heart bleeds when y'all (WE) speak ill of them and their music.
 
I believe we all musicians in here want to hear 2 good bands at a battle.... Hell no one from SU that I know goes to a battle HOPING GRAM sound the way they usually do...

For all that I can just go catch a few SU home games and call it a wrap....

I think it's being political we you are afraid to tell the truth... Hell the clips ain't lying.. and if you was there... I guess everybody in the DOME were politicians as well....smh...

This is one reason I rarely come on here to listen to clips of certain bands... Because some folk just don't want to hear whats real...

How about we all come on here and just give YOUR own UNBIASED opinion and if it differs ...oh well just keep it moving...

This ain't nothing new... they have cats from both GSU and SU that marched in the 70's and 80's that don't care for what they heard out of GSU that night...
They just aren't members on TSPN...

In my opinion it was MAINLY their "arrangements" making them sound the way they do...

The screeching noise that su plays isn't music to me but some like that and some don't. But I wouldn't like that sound whether or not it was su or BYU. But from your comments even if GSU and su sounded the same we would still sound like schit...lol That mentality is bordering crazy as hell...lol Yawl funny though.....

Hey if that's how you feel about SU sound ... I ain't mad at you.. we just have different taste in music.
If you think SU and GSU sounded alike you clearly have hearing problems...

If SU sounded anything close to how GSU sounded that night I wouldn't go hear SU play for a year..
In rivalry yes I am against SU.. but as a musician and since I been OUT the band.. I want to get more than just one good band for my money... I seriously do...

Now if you can go back and listen to those clips and say you are satisfied with the way your school sound.. And the majoriy of your folk feel the same.. I can see why we shouldn't expect better from your camp...

How you feel about SU I could careless... because I know it ain't what many others think..

GSU sucks, that shat was horrible lol and if their satisfied with that shat going into 2011, the shat is sad lol, I see why now I save my money for the BoomBox Classic, at least JSU can admit (well not really) that they suck and need to improve lol
