Florida State running back Dalvin Cook is under investigation for the June 23 battery of a 21-year-old woman outside a Tallahassee bar.

State Attorney Willie Meggs said Friday he has not brought any charges against 19-year-old Cook at this time, but the matter is still being reviewed. He said, however, that he expects to file charges later in the day.

In a heavily redacted police report obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat, the victim was listed as intoxicated and suffered minor abrasion/bruises from the incident, which occurred outside Clyde's & Costellos on South Adams Street.

The victim's name and personal information were listed in the report, but the report does not have a suspect listed. The victim was able to identify Cook to police.

"They kept telling me they were football players," the woman told ESPN. "They kept telling me to Google them. They told me they were football players and they could buy me in two years."

This happened the day before that FSU QB punched a girl in the face. I wonder if Jimbo is going to kick Cook off the team too.

Y'all black men gotta have these white women. Becky has been destroying you since you came to America. Keep on chasing her.....

You ain't lying. The U had the bad boy rep but they weren't nearly as punch happy as these dudes (and they were under a microscope much like most of the Top 25 programs are)

Back then the media and social media wasn't as plugged in as it is now. Not to mention those guys at the U had folks covering them every which way.

Cook's attorney attacks state's case
Corey Clark, Tallahassee Democrat 5:05 p.m. EDT July 17, 2015

The attorney for suspended Florida State running back Dalvin Cook told the Tallahassee Democrat on Friday that his client was innocent of misdemeanor battery.

He also provided a document that highlights — in great detail — his problems with the probable cause affidavit that led to Cook’s arrest.

Ricky Patel, an attorney based in Miami, said Cook was not guilty of punching a young woman in the face outside a Tallahassee bar in June. And that he had many concerns about the evidence used to charge the star Florida State running back.

“How are so many holes in this?” Patel asked.

“First the alleged victim states that five to seven football players hit in her the face. The main witness is her friend, who is 19 years old, under age, and intoxicated to the point where she can barely talk. The only thing the officer understands from her is: ‘Not Rudolph.’ And ‘dreadlocks.’

“The independent witness states that none of the individuals in the lineup (which included Cook) were involved in this at all. ... And the girl’s father, who was never even there, states to the officer that he’s 100 percent sure it was Dalvin Cook. After he was shown social-media pictures of Dalvin. And the father was not there.”

Here ya go @Herbert77060

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- On Monday, Florida State running back Dalvin Cook was found not guilty of misdemeanor battery, after a woman accused him of punching her in the face in June.

A Leon County jury acquitted Cook on the misdemeanor count, which he was charged with July 10. The 21-year-old woman alleged Cook, a 19-year-old Miami native, punched her in the face several times, following a June argument outside of a bar with a handful of Florida State football players. She alleged Cook initially tried to pacify the situation before he grew angry and punched her at least three times.

"I'm just thankful and blessed the truth came out," Cook said after the verdict, with attorneys Ricky Patel and Joey McCall flanking him. "I knew what I was doing that night, and I was making peace."
