So is anyone thats black and wouldnt vote for him considered to be a "spook"?

Of course not. It's only those who won't vote for him simply because he is black and going against the status quo. Re-read my post. And there are blacks who have and still act and think this way.

Making an asssessment based on his views, positions, the direction he wants to go in, etc., and then deciding to vote (for or) against him is one thing, and that's o.k.: making informed decisions is what we all should do. Being afraid and not voting for him because he is "alledgedly" "getting out of his place" and doing things that "black folks shouldn't be doing because they will hurt everybody when they get out of their place" is another and "spook mentality."

Then everybody else on the ballot is doomed,? Ford said. ?Every Democratic candidate running on that ticket would lose because he?s black and he?s at the top of the ticket ? we?d lose the House, the Senate and the governors and everything.?

There is no indication of this person's assessment being based on anything other than the fact that Obama is black. This connotes "spook mentality" in my opinion.

I hope this clears it up for you.

Regards.

Not implying that at all.
They should back who they want.

What I didn't like was the fact that 2 black men were proclaiming that the ONLY BLACK MAN RUNNING would spell DOOM for an entire party yet HILLARY CLINTON with all her BAGGAGE and ENEMIES are a sure fire HIT in 2008. Our "leaders" get fixed on something and it's like crack.......................AND RIGHT NOW THE CLINTONS ARE THE NEW "CRACK" FOR BLACK'S as far as politics. We can't break away from it.

I get sick of people leading the black communities down a lock step, stuck in the past path.

I don't know much about Abama other than what he has release or has been written. I don't see any negatives except lack of experience. That could change when he really start's laying out his vision. He could be one of those that's a natural.....I don't know.................just waiting to see.

I have seen, heard, and watched the show that is Hillary Clinton since 1991.
I know everything I need to know about her.

Most of your Southern Black leaders are going to support Hillary because of Bill. They identify with him more than Obama and likely feel some sense of obligation to his wife. I expect to see more fo this because its hard to turn down a man who is by far the most popular politician among Black voters today.

Having said that, the statements they made about Obama dragging down the ticket was out of line. There's nothing wrong with supporting a candidate because you think he or she has the best chance to win. But you can do that without dogging the other candidates. The way they did it made them and Hillary look bad.

His race will be a negative with most swing voters. So will his background. The truth is he'll have a much harder time winning the general election than Clinton would. But I'm still supporting him.

Don't get me wrong.
I know his race will be enough problems trying to win the Presidency.
That's one reason I wished he would wait until the NEXT election and use this time to build a REAL NATION and WORLD support base.

He can't come out the woodwork's like Bill Clinton.
The Black man gotta prove himself first.

Like I said................... I just don't like the way these 2 threw him under the bus for the sake of Hillary Clinton.
But then again.....................This is also what I mean when I say NATIONAL POLITICS.
It's gonna be cut throat for everybody.
They even admitted it was Bill Clinton putting the pressure on them to support Hillary.

2 busses.................... 2 demo hit and runs by these 2.

Black lawmakers in S. Carolina say's NOT.

"Obama would spell DOOM for the DEMO's" say's S.C Black lawmakers

:shame:

State Sens. Robert Ford and Darrell Jackson told The Associated Press they believe Clinton is the only Democrat who can win the presidency. Both said they had been courted by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama; Ford said Obama winning the primary would drag down the rest of the party.

?Then everybody else on the ballot is doomed,? Ford said. ?Every Democratic candidate running on that ticket would lose because he?s black and he?s at the top of the ticket ? we?d lose the House, the Senate and the governors and everything.?

But Hillary............HILLARY CLINTON is what they call a sure bet for the rest of the people on the ballot.:retard:
Here we go...............................:retard:

People worried bout the people in the heartland better start worring bout the people in Brother/Sista land. :shame:

what I wanna know is why do 'WE' always do this type of crap to each other. It is quite sad. Ford sounds like a straight up coward, heck just about all of the Democratic leaders have been sounding like cowards. Fake black leaders being puppets...its a shame. This crabs in a bucket mentalility is sickening. :vomit: I'm really fed up with this "idea" that we have as a people.

What I wanted to hear from Obama from the get go was did he have his own voice. A backbone...and not be afraid of saying what he thinks. He is showing that right now. The next step is to hear about his issues and how he deals with controversy.

Sad thing about it is it won't change anytime soon.

I have not made up my mind on who to support. But I am not in the Hillary Clinton camp. For starters I am not buying her explanation on her voting for the Iraq war resolution. At least people like Edwards andBiden admitted that they made a mistake. Obama and Kuncinich were against the war at the start. Mrs. Clinton had not admitted that she made a mistake. Or at least I have not heard her admit her mistake. Also, she is tied to closely to the DLC for me.

I am not fan of Senator Clinton. But remember. People voted for John Kerry over Howard Dean thinking that Kerry could beat Bush. Well, Kerry ran a bad campaign and had the incident in Ohio happen. So he did not make it to the White House.

I'm closer to the Obama Camp now than Hillary, but I still think Hillary needs to be #1 on the ticket then Obama. That's the Dem's best chance to win. Wether we like it or not, RACE will matter when it's all said and done. But as blacks we need to leave race out of the debate, IT will turn off any many whites if we make it an issue. My decision will be based on who I think has the best chance to win along with his or her qualifications.

This is the key right there.

DSN is right about taxes. Most Democratic candidates have said they'll repeal the Bush tax cut on the wealthiest Americans as a way of lowering the deficit and addressing Healthcare. They'll sell it to the public by packaging the increase with minor decreases for Middle income Americans along with increased tax credits for childcare, tuition, etc.

Overall, the key for Obama will be his ability to capture voters who don't necessarily agree with him on the issues. In other words, getting people to vote for him because they like him personally - without regards to the issues. Bush had this trait in 2000 - that's the only reason he was able to come withing a Million votes of Al Gore. Reagan had it as well. Right now the only candidate that has that characteristic this year is Obama and to a lesser extent, Edwards. McCain used to have it but not anymore.

Then again...

Seems like alot of us saw the light at the end of the tunnel and decided to walk toward it.

He won this thang...ain't that something:)

...Being a Chicago native, I have been watching this Brother for a long time. I have also met him ... He is "regular people" and Brilliant at the same time.

Don't sleep on Barack Obama ... he is worth watching AND worth voting for!
I was re-reading this thread and was struck by how SILLY some of the comments now look in light of Obama's contiuned success. :retard:
