At your college, X-Bandsmen and Current.. Did yall have like a Uniform Crew and you were suppose to turn in your uniform after every performance or game... Or did u just get issued a uniform, and was responsible for it the whole year and turning it end at the end of the year...?

when i was in the band we kept the uniform the entire season. i think they never asked for it until the spring came around. that was probably because we always was playing even during the winter bewak

You're supposed to turn them back in?

Only thing I kept from my uniform was the shoulder nest. And once the band got the new uni's in 2002, I got me a cape and I'mma frame both of em.

But I know some folks that kept the whole dayum uniform. :smh: And then wondered why they had a 400.00 balance on their accounts. :lmao:

Thats the only thing that made me turn in my uniform... I registered for graduation, and the counselor told me, I had a bill of $600 from the band. That uniform didnt seem that important to me anymore...

We had to turn them in my first 3 years in the band. The 4th year, we got the new unis and I believe we kept them.

SAME HERE

When I was in school we were issued our uniforms and kept them the whole fall semester. We were responsible for taking them to the campus cleaners on Monday after a game performance and picking them up on Thursday. We always had those knuckle heads that forgot to pick theirs up and either didn't march or the cleaners would drop them off at the band hall on friday.

We were adults and didn't need to have a crew take our uniforms after every performance like we were children and didn't know how to take care of them.

I have one ;)

Co-Sign on the hat thing. I got my old hat and shaker plume since we were the last crab class to wear the old SU uniforms with the white overlays in Fall 84. Now in 85 when we got the new and current style uniforms with the blue overlays we had to turn them in on occasion just to get cleaned since they were new. Other than that we kept them all year except for the folks that got zipped.

In Doc words..........."Hey little boy turn in your uniform and carry your arse"........looks over at Chester White..........."he getting any money?" " Zip his isht."

When I was there, they were seldom kept overnight, unless there was another imminent(sp?) performance. Otherwise, they were turned in after the performance and shipped out to the cleaners usually the next Monday.

Well at Gram we got to turn em in after every performance and game...
I always gave big props to Gram for this.

Say what you will but you will never see a Grambling band member in a shabby-looking uniform.
