Where do you rank the bands in the SWAC so far? Here's my rankings based off what I've heard:
1. SU
2. PVAMU/GRAM
3. Jackson
4. UAPB (have not heard this year)
5. Texas Southern

I'm prepared for alot of this: :argue2:

I'm basing this off what I've seen:

1. SU- I love "Burn" and "Toxic."
2. PV- very entertaining.
3. TxSU (online footage)- entertaining; nice field show
4. ASU- (online footage)- loved the show against SU
5. GSU- only thing I enjoyed was "P-Funk" in the stands. Hated the field show.

So far, I have seen this year

JSU (B.O.T.B) Shreveport

PV (vs SU)

SU (vs. PV)

TxSU (Labor Day Classic)

GSU (State Fair Classic)

AlaSU (vs TxSU)
- - - - - - - - - - -
1. SU
2. PV
3. TxSU
4. JSU
5. Gram
6. AlaSU
Even though, I ranked them like this anyone could easily take the number one slot on any given Saturday

I did not get a chance to see ASU in person! It was only a tape (a poor one) I might add!

Beside a few innotation issues they were loud as heck !

Did you not see where I told him that "I respect his opinion?" :look:
:wavey: Sorry,...I didn't. I just read the first sentence and went to battle stations.
Threads like this tends to turn very ugly.

P.S. just wondering,....what did you not like about ourfield show????

The bands I have seen

Grambling
Valley
J-State
Alcorn
PV

1. Grambling (need to work on haftime show a bit more. Stand tunes tight. But can sound nasty at times.)
2. J-State (J-State did not sound like they did last year. But still kinda good.)
3. Alcorn (got to play more in the stands. Cameion will always be the favorite.)
4. Prairie View (Very Nice Sound, but can get boring very easily)
5. Valley (terrible field show, but NECK is off the chain)

So far I've seen:

UAPB vs Valley
JxSU vs TnSU
TnSU vs AAMU (tape)
UAPB vs AAMU

Will be in the Chi to see UAPB against TxSU.

Heard some Alcorn clips on the 5th quarter.

It's gonna be on on October 30 at the Homecoming.
UAPB vs JxSU in Da Bluff. :saw:I think it's gonna go down just like in 2000, ya heard.:saw:

U cool.

As far as the field show, it was too much going on out there..........especially when the dancing girls (I forget what they are called) are SUPPOSED to be featured. Also those singers that murdered "Fire and Desire" were horrible. :vomit:

I don't understand why people say it's too much going on when the band dances while the Orchesis dances. I am an old head and I don't want to see the band stand still. That's our tradition. Asking them to stand still is like telling SU not to rock.

I figured it was ya'lls tradition or something........I guess I'm just used to seeing bands stand still since it is a dance feature. :look:

Because it is the Ochesis' time to shine. Let the have the spotlight for that minute or so.

Man I can remember in 1998 when Gram stood still and didn't dance and play that was when the Alumni wanted to get rid of Doc due to the fact he didn't do tradition. But back to the subject this is my opinion from the bands that I have seen.

1. Texas Southern
2. Grambling (inconsistent)
3. Prarie View
4. Alcorn State
5. Jackson State

It's like trying to watch two completely different movies at once. The band has its own dance routine and it very different from the Orchesis. I can understand "Tradition" but it is what it is. There is no true focal point.
I have some other opinions but I will not go into them in this fourm.

lets be real this is how the rankings are this year
1.su
2.pb
3jsu
4.gsu
5txsu

I agree with that but #2 should be a tie between UAPB and PV. I just wish that UAPB and SU could have met up this year because I've been hearing so many good things about M4 this year.

let's kick the facts, the only thing that Su had on PV was "Burn" in the 5th so does that constitute the "W"? no...What about the Field(does that still count as the ultimate judging ground) the stands and the 5th are still both for general pruposes only.... and i will not comment of Gram in dallas, so since we smoked Louisiana and still haven't seen jackson, and we did uapb in HOuston....lets put it like this

1. PV
2.SU
3. PB
3.J-State
3. Gram

enough said and ya'll can call it how ya'll want to.....
