The bottom line is that the folks who do have an ounce of respect for our school know when enough is enough. I could care less whether or not you make L.C. your personal stone cold morning pimp.

What I do care a bout is actually getting constructive input from folks who'd like to offer it. Not smack, not pot shots...

yeah, I guess I am to an extent. It amazes me how folks can scoff at mess like this and not see how it affects the bigger picture for all HBCU's.

It's not about smack at all.
 
Crazylegs, you are about as new to this board as I am, and what I have noticed (as you should have) is that this is not a board for sympathy. Go to a bar to talk about your problems. When an article is posted on this board it is a sitting duck. It will either be smacked around or you might get a straight up discussion. Don't be surprised by either.

And as far as "constructive input" it is not our jobs to do that. It is not our job to do anything. We are not on the compliance staff or the college board or any authoritative position that makes a decision (or even gives a damn) about ASU. In other words....don't b***h to us....are you contacting your AD? Your President? Your coaches? No. You are sitting here entertaining us, because that's all this is-- entertainment. Treat it like that or take your discussions to other boards.

And in my opinion, I don't know why you are surprised you're in this situation? Didn't something strike you as strange when players were magically becoming eligible.....right before the JSU game? Didn't the massive transfers strike you as strange? This has been a long time coming, and I, myself, have no sympathy for programs who do things unethcially. For those innocent student-athletes, that's messed up but other than that I don't care, HBCU or not.

all of the above, as are alot of Bama State alumni having to deal with this issue.

I'm just calling it as i see it. Right now, there a re a few folks that truly enjoy seeing this happen at another HBCU. That has nothing to do with smack at all.

If you interpret it as *****ing, so be it... I'm not going to abstain from posting how I see some of these hypocrites operate.

CJ, you tell me where I've supported anything dealing with Bama state's admins and how they've dealt with this.

As i said before, this has gone far past L.C., Crosby, or any of those cats.

You show me where I'm blaming anybody besides our administration for what's goin on at State.


The only thing that I've stated through this entire thread is that you truly have folks that are simply elated that Bama State as an institution is going through the mess it's going through. You can take that as smack; I see it as a total disregard for the folks/students/alumni that attend and put into that school.

With that, I'm washing my hands of this thread.
 
You Bama's really shouldn't take this too hard. Getting rid of L.C. Cole now is the best thing you guys can do. There's a lot of good coaches out there who would be much better than him. Trust me, if L.C. Cole is fired behind all of this mess, ou'll be better off in the long run.

Well, maybe that's because other ASU posters don't give a dam about what's going on or they don't agree with what you all are saying. They'll come out when you guys get one of your 1-9 threads goin'.
 
Perhaps Jsue posters are obsessed with LC. I've been on TSPN for a year and I don't recall one topic where a jsue poster hasn't recently tried to smack LC. But I guess that's the New Skool Mafia Theme. "If you can't beat him, smack him".
 
O.K., so now this thread is about US and how Cole beat US. Yeah, that's very "constructive" and relevant to how your program can clean itself up.
 
MH, I thought I was the only one who noticed that. It's interesting that he would bring that game up. I mean that game had to have signficant importance to him.

Remember Darnell Kennedy in 2000? Remember how you lost to Alcorn and such? Remember how your team sucked up until they played us that week? Kennedy wasn't on the team. He was still waiting for "clearance", along with others.

No, but Cole would have done ANYTHING to keep from going into THAT game without his best player....c'mon you lost to Alcorn coming off a winless season. And that he did, apparently.

I know nothing about ASU, but like I said, it just struck me as strange when players become eligible a couple of days before you play the team you despise. Fast forward to this summer- scandals, thefts, eligibility issues.....I'm just putting two and two together, here. And this was way before Hughes' departure. MH should remember, after all, it was THIS century.
 
As a SWAC fan and a HBCU fan, Bama State needs their asses reamed for allowing this crap to happen. As a group, we already have enough problems, then schools like you and PV gotta compound that isht. (And NO, I'm not saying it hasn't or doesn't happen at any other SWAC school!). You have put all of us on watch now as the NCAA normally does when a school of a conference comes forward. They watch the other conference schools closer, at least for a little while.

Get that isht together up there. I mean, as a football school, your history is crap, but still, you are a SWAC brother and weird as this sounds, we need ALL of you to be strong for the conference to succeed.

As a SWACPage Smacker, that's your ass! I seem to remember some members of a faction just howling when football players from a certain school were taking stuff, getting in fights, and the like. That same group joined in on the damn SGA thread that had nothing to do with athletics. So, for Alabama State University, I'm sorry and I wish you the best. For the Bees on here that joined in on those two incidents mentioned earlier,

Everybody told yall about Cole 3 years ago, but you wouldnt listen. Now your program is about to be buried. But from where you are standing, 6 feet might not be that deep. If you had kept Coles, you would be much deeper.

Cosby is doing you a favor. 5 years down the line, you will thank him for what he is doing.
