awwwww shut up!
On tha real, this is funny, but at the same time, i still think ASU should have waited, just out of respect. On the other hand, TU should have been respectful as well as trying to keep a timely halftime show to allow ASU to have their time.... ALL in all both bands were wrong......
To me, i think its more of a hate thing that these two bands have for each other, in other words rivalry....... ASU felt they could bully TU cause their band is larger, and plus its their homecoming, etc.......
I wonder had it been Southern, or J- State, FAMU, TnSU, on the field, or any other larger band in the SWAC or not, would ASU have done the same thing...... I THINK NOT...........
But basically this is DEJA VU, this happened in i think in 88' or 89' at the MAGIC City CLASSIC, when AAMU's band was on the field too long, and ASU's drum majors came on the field while AAMU's band was still performing..... the drum major from Bama State blew the whistle for the double time cadence and Bama State drum's started playing the fast cadence march, but the band hesitated and did not come on..... When AAMU was marching off the field, they were marching straight into ASU on the sideline, and pushing and shoving erupted between both schools on the sidelines..... I remember it vividly.....
Sir, you are sadly mistaken. BTW, how do you know what ASU felt?? :retard:
You are entitled to your perception but have no idea of what our mindset was on that day. I should know, I WAS IN IT.
PS. For everyone that says, "They wouldn't have done that to my band or such n such band"............
........................Phuck yours and such and such band. Respectfully.
Any respectable band program wouldn't have done what TU did in the first place. Second, any respectable program would have done the same thing if they were in our shoes, especially at homecoming :retard:
Really????? Well, i personally don't know what ASU felt, but i do know what ASU displayed, and that was a lack of maturity, respect, and CLASS.
I wonder had it been Southern, or J- State, FAMU, TnSU, on the field, or any other larger band in the SWAC or not, would ASU have done the same thing...... I THINK NOT...........
Im made buddy tried to Slide TnSU in there! N*gga ain't nobody scared of of doin that shyt to another band ESPECIALLY TeNiShU soft ass band  Hell, when was the last time ASU and TnSU been in the same state at the same time anyways???
~walks out~
The last time ASU and TSU met was in 99' in the John A Merritt Classic
Eggzactly my point  im still trynna figure out y u put TnSU in the list of bands YOU THINK Bama St. wouldn't have done this too. like you tryin to include them in some type of "Bad Girls Club" or sum'n
Let's see....TU stays on the field during OUR homecoming for over 13 minutes knowing dayum well halftime is only 20 min (even if they were told that halftime was 25 min, they still went over); then had the nerve to blow "Neck" during our dance routine??
So who REALLY lacked maturity, respect, and class that day? Certainly not us....we did what we had to do. And I heard from several folks that it was actually the AD who gave our BD the go ahead to take the field, after he told TU's BD that the band needed to get off the field.
And bullying?? Dammit, this ain't the school yard!!!:emlaugh: Size has nothing to do with it.....and I'on give a dayum if it were FAMU and BCC put together- if it's our homecoming and u go over the allotted time, we taking the field if the BD says so. PERIOD. Like Kreme said, any respectable band program wouldn't have done what TU did in the first place, so folks hollerin about we wouldn't have done this, that and the other need to just go head on somewhere with that.
Oh and one other thing- the rivarly between ASU and TU bands really isn't all that deep as folks think (well, not to me).....now ASU and AAMU on the other hand :slap:  But at least we do respect one another's time on the field.....now I'ain got shat to do with what happened in 89- hell, I was still in HS. :emlaugh:
It it amazing how people spin information to fit their viewpoint. Alabama State did not send out a timeline until 4:31 p.m. on Wedneday evening, November 24. Offices at Tuskegee had closed for the Thanksgivng Recess. The TU band had practiced earlier in the day on Wednesday and the TU football team was in a hotel in Montgomery. The timeline indicated 25:00 (one minute to clear field) and 24:00 minutes for halftime, but on gameday it was changed to 20:00 minutes. Did ASU or ESPNU changed the time? TU prepared for a 10:00-minute halftime show. ASU has done this before, to AAMU and to TU. I think they were upset because of the scoreboard: TU-10, ASU-0. Also, TU comes to Montgomery for the Turkey Day Classic and not your Homecoming. Your Homecoming was not a part of the Turkey Day Classic (then called DIXIE CLASSIC) in 1924.
If I was Tuskegee's band, I would have stayed my azz on the field and made them mofos march around me.

So if you prepared for a 10 minute halftime show, why were you still on the field after 13+ minutes?

It's not uncommon for bands to make last minute changes.-- we did it all the time back in the day.
This was about to be my next question. What happen to the adjustment, even if the info was passed right before the game? It's too easy to make adjustments to a show. Takes a minute or so. Both the band and staff should be flexible enough to do so. Heck, if my band in HS could do it...I know it can be done on college level.
Heck, at SU...mofos used to change drills right before halftime...:retard:....
Are all of you still talking about this? Time to move on folks and get ready for the beat down that Tex Southern has ready for those Hornets. The beat down for halftime and for Tex Southern's big win in the SCG.
