BAMA STATE BAND COMES ON IN THE MIDDLE OF TU SHOW

See, this is the stupid azz mentality of some black folks. How in the hell did they handle it in a mature way when they marched on to the field when another band is performing? TU handled it in a mature manor. Bama State handled it like some ghetto azz mofos. I guess that is what they mean when folks say Bamas being Bamas.

you wouldn't know how to handle a simple situation if it was stamped on your face

Some of y'all saying this was okay are the same people that will clown a band for playing while the other band is still playing...and that's in the stands! LMAO

Y'all a trip.

So what would have happened if TU said "Fugg it" and stayed on the field? What if a fight would have broke out?

TU was wrong for staying on the field too long but Bama State band directors got lucky nothing jumped off.

Here it is from the other side...

Notice how they walked off like they just KNEW what they were doing was uncalled for....

LOL!! Only in Bama!

Well, I only have one thing to say about the situation:

I'm mad as FUCC that I wasn't out there with my fellow MMH Alumni in the front row!!!! DAMMIT!!!!! :bawling: :bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling:

I'm not saying it was right.....but I dayum shole understand! How da hell u come to OUR Homecoming and stay on the field for 13 minutes when halftime is only like 20 minutes? And if my memory serves me correctly, this isn't the first time TU has pulled this stunt either. :smh:

But I'm glad nothing popped off.....it could have been really ugly; last thing HBCU's needed was for ESPNU to broadcast a bunch of dayum "porch monkeys" with instruments fighting on the field. :shame:

Thank you! Wouldnt it have been better if you all returned the favor next year for their homecoming? Just make a mental note of how long they stayed on the field and returned the favor. I cant remember where I saw the clip of this (on ESPN or another station), but I remember saying "Why?"

How can we return the favor when TU always go on first at Turkey Day? They knew that the show was too long and some of that shyt could have been kept (ie- KKPsi/TBS step feature and I think they even played a slow song in concert formation).

As a matter of fact, when ESPNU would show the bands periodically during the updates and recaps, I remember thinking, "dayum, Tuskegee STILL on the field?" Then I thought I was seeing things when they showed ASU on the field with TU and that's when I saw a still pic that Dahill tagged me in. :emlaugh:

And I don't blame ASU. TU was wrong.

They always? Didnt know that. Thought you two interchange because it's both you all's homecoming. Oh well, STILL glad no child got hurt behind all this.

The only thing I see wrong is Bama State had the flag girls right in the middle of the chaos..... they should have stayed on the sideline until TU band came off the field... I would hate for a trumpet to hit a flag girl in the face.

Oh NOOOOOOO!!!! :smh:  Yeah, it's Turkey Day Classic, but it's Alabama State's Homecoming, not Tuskegee's. So yeah TU always go on first. What's really funny is that according to my LS, the exact same thing happened back in 83- one of the DM's who blew off the whistle back then was also one of the Alumni DM's on the field.

Incorrect.

Turkey day classic is always Bama St's homecoming. TU is just our opponent. They have their own homecoming which has no connection to the turkey day classic.

Negative. Its TU directors that were lucky. Attempts were made, including those by the athletic director, to TU's band director to get them off the field. TU did not comply. They were in total violation.

Then Bama St. woulda did they show Around Skegees Band. what you think? You think its right for Valley to come to Memorial, do a 15 minute show, and have JSU penalized since ya'll still on the field afterwards???

~walks out~

Rule 3-4-1-a (penalty). If a team is not ready to play at the beginning of a half, the team receives a 15 yard delay of game penalty. If the game is delayed because halftime activities (band performances, etc.) have exceeded the allotted time for halftime and not because one of the teams is not ready to play, the home team receives a 10 yard delay of game penalty [Rule 3-4-1-b (penalty)].

The fact of the matter was both schools had a total of (24) min. on the field "in the beginning" days before the game. ASU-(12) min.-Skegee-(12) min. Right before the game, both schools were then told that they had a total of (20) min. ASU (10) min.-Skegee-(10)min.----Skegee, then went passed the (10) min. mark and on into (11) min., then (12) min.and eventually, Skegee went on into (13) min.===Skegee's own AD told their band director to come off the field and he ignored his on AD. Bama State had the right to "double-time" Skegee's azz right on off that field. Some of this info was provided in the Montgomery Advertiser.

No, I don't think it's right...RIF, that's why I said what TU did was wrong. My reference about Bamerr State BD's getting lucky is this...
HBCU college bands just got a black eye with the HOB special on Thursday, so on Saturday (or whenever the game took place) your BD's are going to tell your band to enter the field while the opposing band is already on the field with cameras rolling?!? Yeah...that makes a lot of sense (for anybody's band).

So what if a fight broke out? With cameras rolling? Again...that makes a lot of sense. Nobody would have been trying to hear "oh but TU band was on the field too long"...we (HBCU bands) would have been back on the news getting another black eye over some stupid shyt that was preventable. That's all I'm saying.

I'm not in here to kill y'all joy b/c I can tell y'all real excited about what y'all did, LOL all I'm saying is in one thread folks going off/upset over the image portrayed in the HBO special then in this thread folks are pounding their chests.

At the end of the day if a fight broke out Bamerrr would have come out looking like the bad guy.
