No, that is desperate. I knew it wouldn't be long for L.C. to try to jump ship. It took him only two years to learn what Dickerson and Markham already knew:

SURROUNDED by media types in the middle of the field, Robert Hughes ? the embattled head coach at Jackson State ? kept his composure.

He smiled. He answered every question, more or less. He even got some laughs.

"Does a bear have hair? Can a bird fly?" Hughes responded when asked if he expected to be back on the JSU sideline next fall. "Thank you. That's the end of that comment."

But it's hardly the end of this issue.
For the third straight year, JSU stubbed its toe on the road to the title. The pivotal game this season was a 24-20 loss to an Alabama State team that won only one other SWAC contest.

Had it won that game, JSU would have a ticket to Birmingham next month.

MH, what is up with this Thug mentality? I mean, do you all teach young men to be some sort of hoodlums? And it is through out Bama as a whole. First, someone throws a brick through the window of a locker room that our guys are dressing out in (Average & Mediocre). And now, vandalism because they can not play anymore football at ASSu.

See, this is what happens when you start off by giving gold watches after a 7-4 season, then dont give anything the next 7-4 season. :shame:

Is this true? If so this is real low. This dude is searching for a job while losing to Valley. I hope this guy is nt contacting JSU about coaching here. He has no character and this shows it. His phone calls should be avoided like the plague.

Its true. It was reported by Mark Alexander in the newspaper last week. I doubt if he would have made it up. Trust me, its true.

since you say it was in Friday's paper, that means that all of these coaches would have supposedly called jsue Thursday or earlier. Before your game against alcorn and before your back-door tour was over. Heck, at that time, yall were planning on winning the SWAC.

I have to agree. Some schools pay a coach 130K to lose to Valley, UAPB, and Annie Mae in the same season. And still let him call around for other jobs. :(
